The original dub is perfect
It'll always have a special place in my heart. I understand why they couldn't use the original, but if they had hired the original VAs, it would've been received way better.
@Lain in what way do you mean? The actual VAs? Or the original dub they made?
@Lain idk man, i'm currently watching a modern show that has both misato and asuka (allison and tiffany) and they sound even better than they were in eva imo
@@ThatWhiteHand plus they sound way better in the Rebuild movies than they did in the original show. So, definitely wasted opportunity on Netflix's part.
@@MonteRicard you're not wrong honestly. thanks to better localization on funimations part, its obvious that the old dub was only flawed cause ADV thought it was passable, like all their other anime dubs back then.
Who was surprised? They hid who the VA's were going to be and then utilized JYB as PenPen. But people saying they ruined Eva is laughable, the OG's on my hdd seem unaffected. Watched some Rebuild earlier and was all better.
I definitely would say they didn't ruin Eva, but they certainly dropped the ball with it I'm afraid. Makes me wish Funimation had been the ones to secure the rights, if anything to keep the original VAs. I get what you mean, the Rebuilds help. I even have the Platinum set, so I can still enjoy how it once was.
@MemesAreDreams Netflix loves them some anime, just not for the right reasons like Crunchyroll or Funimation would.

I’ve heard it’s Khara that messed it up. They insisted Netflix redub it, sent their translator in, and insisted on an extremely literal translation.
@@stephenvalentinemusi hmmm... It makes you wonder quite a bit. That even makes me think perhaps they had a hand in not letting the original dub VAs have the opportunity to redub the parts...

I can't blame you. I know they had to with the original's licencing issues, but nothing stopped then from bringing back the original VAs, well, other than their own choices.
MonteRicard I bought 2.22 and 3.33 so I’ll watch that instead.
Why not just watch the sub?
