I started watching anime in general just last year, and finished the whole Steins:Gate franchise literally earlier today. I liked it, but I honestly couldn't pinpoint as to why that was until watching this led me to introspect myself a little. I think the best part of the show for me was seeing Okabe be able to reconcile the different faucets of his person. At the start of the show I seriously could not tell if his delusions about The Organization and the Choices of Stein's Gate would lead anywhere; by the end of 0, reclaiming and properly using that delusional behaviour became his strongest weapon. He was able to use the Houoin persona to take control of his fate instead of accepting fate out of fear. "This is the choice of Steins Gate!" into "This is my choice!".. We don't have Phone Microwave (Name subject to change)s or Time Leap Machines to help us do that, but most of us also don't have multiple nations and organisations hellbent on world domination gunning for us and our friends across timelines, so it's probably a fair trade off, and definitely a goal to have in one's life. The deeper lesson that taught me to take control of my own life after watching SG is that, things will always work out eventually and it is okay to make mistakes. Just by simply believing that your future/other self is always trying your best to make things right just like Okabe did. As long as you don't stop trying, your future self wouldn't either.

i love steins;gate with a passion i loved it so much, that I ended up buying every sciadv visual novel just because theyre made by the same person currently 100%'d c;h, and i'm currently on steins;gate this was definitely the choice of the steins gate. El Psy Kongroo.

If you have the time, i can wholeheartedly recommend the visual novels of Steins;Gate and especially Steins;Gate 0. The anime let out some amount of depth and emotion because of (ironically) time constraints. It even bended the storyline of SG0, which in the novel is a 2 part split where okabe needs to go back to change the worldline he is currently in, in order to then be able to set up all the fixes he will do for the original story of SG. (Also councidently the 2 halves of the SG0 novel story can roughly e described as his Depression Phase where he despeately wants to ignore Amadeus and move on from kurisu, to then accepting what he wants to do and accept the help of "kurisu" (Amadeus) in order to reach his goal). These 2 parts of SG0 have been weirdly twisted/shifted around to make it a somewhat linear story for the anime. It was still a great production. But i can personally reccomend anyone to go and read the VN of Steins;Gate 0 because its story felt way more impactful in the novel.
S;G will always have a special place in my heart. During the time I started engaging with S;G, I lost sense of who I was and had given up hope on most things. I went into autopilot for ~2 years and missed out on a lot of friendships, understandably so since I was an @sshole by all means when looking back; not only to others but mostly to myself. When Okabe said "It is my choice" towards the last episodes of 0, it really stuck with me in a way no other art media has ever done. Steins;gate (as a whole story) will always be my favorite thing on Earth!

Wow, I understand you completely, steins gate has really helped me, I just finished the visual novel like 3 days ago, but it's already helping me moving on from some pretty bad months
Honestly thats kinda disrespectful to the anime, the VN is incredible obviously, but the anime is a phenomenal adaptation and the cinematography, music and the use of colour plus how it straight up imroves upon some scenes compared to the vn, makes it much more than just a inferior product
I love the show and the Visual Novel even more. But as much as I like the show it's definitely hard to recommend, I learned this the hard way showing it to my family and had to deal Itaru's cringe and disgusting behavior that I seemingly put to the back of my mind and didn't think much of it until it was in full view of my parent. I know he has a character arc but it's honestly a drag on the show, especially considering him and even Okabe appear to be in there twenties but in realty they are 18 and fresh out of high school. It's honestly the main reason why I cant just outright tell people to watch it despite how much I love the series.
Frankly I watched all 24 episodes and it was absolutely great had little to no issue with the beginning 6 ep as well But I watched the movie that is a sequel to the anime ending and I love it even more wow what a masterpiece if we also include the movie ending THAT is the real Your name done right S;gate movie did the lovers no matter the distance in time and space reality always destined to find each other and be lovers even if you died WAAAAY better than that overrated movie A silent voice was also way better
Stein's Gate has a special place in my heart. It's one of the stories that made me realize my weakness for time travel plots. They always make me cry in the end. Another anime/Novel with a time travel plot that I love, is Re: Zero. And I can't help but notice the similarities between Okabe and Subaru. **Some general spoilers for Re:Zero, I guess** They both have to deal with the deaths of their loved ones, desperately try to change the past to make a better future. Put on acts that they're fine, and that nothing is wrong. And now I feel like re-watching Stein's Gate, it's been a while.
i think that you should play steins gate elite , you will discover every routes and do your own choices for okabe and that's pretty cool because the anime skipped a lot of important dialogues, information .
steins gate elite removes a lot of content from the original too, just play steins;gate and 0 elite isnt worth it. make sure to use coz patch on it for best experience
