      I’ve been wondering if it’s the same thing. Because on the Curlsmith website, the thickening lotion (the blue line) was 50% off. So wonder if they are just switching the product to live under the pink volumizing line.

    Went to ulta today and got the mousse along with their shampoo from the moisture line with the miracle shield as well. I already have a root lifter from Paul Mitchell but I decided to skip on the spray and might revisit that later on. I’ve been using the styling soufflé so I can’t wait to compare the mousse to the gel.

    Thank you Gena for this video. I love Curlsmith and I look for volumizing products.I am so excited to try this line.Next time use the volumizing lotion instead of root spray to see if there is any difference in volume. Do you think if we used a stronger hold gel over the mousse we would get longer lasting results?What is your favorite product from this line?Do you think if I just used the shampoo,conditioner,and mousse I would get alot of volume? I will be adding this to my collection of hair care products pretty expensive though for my budget.I will have to get one product at a time. Sorry for all the questions.

    I tried the hydrate & plump leave in and the mousse last wash day & definitely got more fullness than usual on my lowish density hair. This is day 5 for me & my curls still look nice with no refresh. I mixed the leave in with the feather light protein cream & then used the mousse. I typed that off with a dime sized amount of curl styling souffle, micro plopped & then a small amount of the bouncy strength foam. It sounds like a lot but I used small quantities of everything except the mousse. I need protein in all my routines which is why added the strength recipe line to the routine, but used a very small amounts.

    I used volumizing shampoo/conditioner products for years and I felt that to be very damaging over the years. That being said, I didn't know about the effects of hard water and regularly clarifying. Similarly, I didn't have a good understanding of the protein/moisture balance for my fine/2B/low density hair. Adding in more protein was a game changer. After years of documenting wash days, I finally have a good maintenance cycle. This line has piqued my interest, though I will probably skip the s/c as I do love the Pacifica Rosemary Purify. Definition, shrinkage and hold are my goals, along with easy refreshes. I'm interested in knowing the long term outcome on the health of your hair after using this line. Thanks for the review Gena!

    I so appreciate this video, as I have very fine, very low density, hair! I was encouraged to hear you say you want to try some of these more singly in upcoming videos, because there is NO way I could use all those products on my hair. I have yet to find a conditioner that doesn't relax my curls, so I tend not to use a conditioner at all, but depend instead on my styler(s) to provide the moisture I need. Do you think any of the stylers has potential to be a "one & done" for people like me?

    • @JillianSiobhanMal
      @JillianSiobhanMal 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same for me! Not using a conditioner and just a leave in has been a game changer for me and I’m wondering if I could add in the mousse without too much weight with my gels or swap my Verb foam gel for the mousse.

    • @GenaMarie
      @GenaMarie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the mousse would be the only product to use on its own because it provides hold. I think the Root Boost spray and the Thickening Lotion are just add-ons and need a gel or mousse. The mousse is moisturizing so you could skip leave-in.

      How are you using the stylers? The mousse can be very texturizing if you use too much. You also may need a gel for hold on top

    Adding gel killed all the beautiful volume I had when I used the whole line without in previous washday 😢

    Hi…quick question…are all your product reviews paid promotions? I never watch anyone when they say it’s a paid promotion, I know it’ll just be promoting the product. And always positive. I love your styling videos tho. Just curious if you ever do reviews that aren’t paid. I’d watch those. Thanks

      Yes, I definitely do unsponsored reviews! I typically integrate all my reviews within a tutorial or instructional-style video anyway so that way they provide more value for you and you can follow the steps with whichever products you have, which is why this video is centered around how to get volume versus solely a review.
      I would never proceed with a sponsorship if I don't like the products. If I test something for a partnership and it doesn't work, I don't make the video. If you want to see a recent list of products that didn't work for me, you can watch this video I did: th-cam.com/video/cKrVHWF0FYE/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB

    I prefer the before look on you more. You have more length as opposed to the volumized after look which makes it more shorter.

      The before look had more frizz and less definition. I would rather sacrifice length to have defined curls and volume without frizz but that's just my preference 😊

      Cant you have both, length and definition? @GenaMarie

    Gena, I tried the mousse today. But it felt tacky. I'm not sure if I did something wrong. Will have to re wash tomorrow. 😢

      This is from using too much mousse. I had the same issue! A little goes a long way with it because it's concentrated. Try using less!

      @@GenaMarie Thank you!! Appreciate you. To even take the time to reply. Means a lot.

    I don't see a lot of difference between your usual curls and the Volume Recipe curls. That before pic is nothing like your usual look.

      The before picture is my natural hair with no styling products, air dried. I find that true "before and afters" to show how products perform are naked curls vs. with the products.

    If I put that much stuff on my hair, it would be lank and greasy in no time.

      Just use the mousse! My hair is dry so I need the leave in and the mousse. The root booster is just an extra

      I was thinking the same thing. I bought the shampoo, conditioner and mousse. I'm going to see how it goes!

    I have such stringy, coarse, thin, sparse hair, and applying products to soaking wet hair gives me lots more volume. I wish I didn’t have to use soaking wet hair because it’s such a pain in the booty! 🥲
