I always thought the Azores made a better location for original Atlantis--the current islands being the mountain tops that remained after the sinking of the city. It better fits Plato's description in Timaios and Kritias.
I hear you there, they did announce a few months ago MGM was considering redoing Stargate in some form. They got a panel of ten superfans to help guide them which I thought was pretty cool. The Stargate guy is one of them, he's on TH-cam if you haven't seen him. I just hope these super fans will relay what the majority of the fans one, and they won't destroy the franchise like they did to Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and maybe Marvel.

I loved Stargate Atlantis I miss it a lot I just binge watch the series the past few days I miss the advance city of Atlantis the Oceanview and the architectural design of it the endless possibilities of the place the puddle jumpers were absolutely amazing the design details were great Atlantis was a place of wonder and adventures loved to have lived there lol
What really makes a great show is the writers and the script the actors contribute and the directors show vision but the script and the story did they go by is the defining part of it a good example of this is the Game of Thrones when they went off the books The Game of Thrones started to suck. While they were on the books they did a phenomenal job. It wasn't that the actress did a bad job afterwards it's state at a bad script to go with not to be disrespectful to the people writing for the show but when they had a solid vision of good source material they enhanced it. What they were doing was embellishing previous writings and most the time if the writing is good enough to be show or movie they don't need to embellish it the problem with most writing in movies if you have an award-winning source instead of using that source to its greatest Advantage they change the source material and screw up the movie this happens repeatedly in the Fantastic Four happened in the X-Men franchise. But the thing was the X-Men had such of a fan base that just putting the name X-Men on it means that it would be a hit. The Fantastic Four have had so many bad Fantastic Four movies that it's insulting to the source material.
In the intro of the pilot of Atlantis, the woman we, see look a lot like the one found in the ice near the stargate, the one that infects SG-1. Could she have been from that time? I know that when Weir spends only 10.000 years in stasis she aged quite a lot, but if ancients had much longer lifespans that could explain it. Just a small theory though.

But I do remember that in the Atlantis pilot there was a guy with her, looking kinda angry at her. And when she infects SG-1 and the other scientists she seems to know what it going on, and she doesnt seem to be sick at all, so either a healthy carrier of the virus that almost wiped them out, a patient zero of it, or the one that accidentally started it perhaps by experimenting on herself (dangerous experiments like Janus also did). The latter could explain why the guy seemed angry at her. Its just something that always stuck with me after watching that pilot and the SG-1 episode. It's sad that they didn't explain more about her.
It was the same woman. She was infected with the plague which is why she was left behind. Remember in the SG1 episode people started getting sick from the disease she carried until she used her advanced healing properties to cure them before eventually dying herself.
Excellent. I sometimes wonder with seemly a small population apart from the core political, military and scientific leadership, why modern Atlantis needs so many lights coming from scores of tall buildings? Great show.
i would like to see atlantis at full capacity and having enough zpms to run the city at full cap. maybe run into and fight the bad guys when they where stuck jumping into alternate realities
i love the stargate series overall truly love it very deeply but stargate Atlantis is my favorite show of the series stargate sg1 i believe is the spirit of the series but i personally feel stargate Atlantis is the Heart of the Series not in the traditional sense normally that would the first show the of the series if it has spinoffs like star trek other shows in a long running legacy or shorter ones like the stargate series but i why see stargate Atlantis as the heart of the series not SG1 is simple the series potential Went to the next level with stargate Atlantis & The spinoff didn't the series it just expanded it even more far more in my opinion & i love of the ancients i like the story line with the wraith & messy history that came with it when creating the wraith i do not know ho rare this Story narrative at least being done well i feel like theirs so much hidden or lost history in between the ancients coming to the milk way galaxy Creating the Stargates discovering so much & seeing so much that hasn't been recorded or the recordings are hidden lost info or the info isn't meant to be easily accessed like the ancients have been known to do in their history depending on the era & tech the ancients where at in her history but the other reasons i like the Stargate Atlantis is the Writing is a bit different from SG1's story Writing style i like the Atlantis team the entire Atlantis Crew all people in the mission only one person i do not like at all but that character isn't surprising to dislike in the crew but i rather not give names in case if i cross hairs with someone it's kinda amazing knowing that Atlantis was sitting their on that planet & left alone for 10'000 years not actually alone alone but still it's crazy my younger kid self thought that amazing a long time ago but re watching the series many times & growing up getting older 10'000 years seems oddly enough pretty dang short in the timeline of the Ancients ten millions of years old in that time line comparing or even other alien races in the stargate series now not that many alien races are that old but at least some are still very ancient no pun intended to but i like how their was a real sense of amazement that Atlantis had about it finding ways to make the best of it i like how carries a sense of a potential future unknowns for hopefully the better for humanity & the galaxy & fellow Alien races
Very well said! I myself grew up with SG-1 it remains my favorite of the three . but I love SGA more and more every time I rewatch it. I would have loved to see Atlantis fully explored. Who knows what other Mysteries would have been discovered . But I guess at least we still have the books four additional content.😎👍

I've always wondered why any Lantean refugees didn't attempt to kick the Gould off Earth. While they've never shown Lantean soliders (army), I would imagine they would have better arms and armor than Jaffa as well as better tactics after their war with the Wraith.
Seasons 1,2, and 3 were soooo good. Season 4 had its moments (Tealc vs Ronan) in particular. And the only good episodes in Season 5 was First Contact, The Outsiders, and the Queen. (The Queen should've won an Emmy for best story, acting, and make up)
I was off doing work during the last half of season 4. When I came back and tired to catch up nothing made any sense. I still liked it, but season 1 and 2 were outstanding. Also Tabula Rasa is one of the best episodes.
Yeah at the end of the episode the Ancient Janas took his research with him, had the first Weir put on ice and rotate the ZPM to maintain the shield until the expedition arrived. Funny Enough Merlin vetoed it before acened and then came back and made Camolots all over the galaxy and apparently time travel alot. To build his Ori Weapon. They talked about Arthur leaving. But apparently that might have been merlin the whole time. It's a mind bender. Janas might be still out there or he eventually ascended after he Dr. Whoed through the Time Verse lol
That was the time jumper found on that planet with the future written out Janus probably rebuilt the time jumper sg1 took it back to earth and used it to try and find a zpm but they buried it
I saw the intro and knew from that alone it wouldn't have fake made up facts to get thumbs up like other TH-cam videos that review every series out there do....

That's a really good idea! As far as I know MGM is working towards making a new Stargate series. That TH-camr the Stargate guy has had meetings with them and a group of other Stargate fans to try to find a direction to go with the franchise. It sounds like it might have slowed down recently. But you never know. I believe mgm's having financial problems at the moment so they may not be willing to do another Stargate for now. So maybe the crowd fund me would be a way to go.😎👍

There were several city ships. You have absolutely no clue. Plus the Ethosians, were brought back to Atlantis after they had raised the city.
