    Very good review.
    Packs up so small, very impressed. Plenty of room.
    The tarp was really good too.
    Terrible weather, held up well.
    Cheers Kev👍

      Cheers Jamie. Yeah, definitely packs down small, as does the tarp. A nice lightweight setup, especially in good weather when you don't even need a tarp.

    Proper wild camping Kev
    I’ve never used Tarp and bivvy but after more tent camps I might give it a go
    Great for a limited set up
    Cheers Jeff

      It's pretty new to me but I like the different options. I do still enjoy a tent as well. Have bought a couple of different tents recently to try out!

    Hi Kev, as you may remember I'm claustrophobic but I'd be happy to use this set up, looks really comfortable & dry.
    I dropped my phone on the bed as I started watching you & found I had Italian subtitles somehow 😂, managed to get English back eventually!

      @@anniemac3075 yeah I didn't feel confined it it. If you can get the head end lifted up properly it should work really well.

    Good and all as the the bivvy may be, I think you have successfully convinced me that a tent is the way to go!

      @@thebarleymow ha ha. At the start of this camp I'd have switched to a tent in a heartbeat if asked!

    Seems decent Kev. I like the long zip aspect too. Good test & review buddy 👍😁

    That was great. Even though the weather was bad it’s better to test it in those conditions to get a true sense of how it performs.
    I like that it has a zip entrance as mine you have to climb in from the top (which can be a bit annoying).
    Great review 👍

      @@PhilipOlsen11 cheers Phil. I've tried clamshell ones and they are a pain so I much prefer the decent side zip.

    hi and thanks for the test, been considering one of these, but cant chance the condensation as you will or may have seen my Alpkit bivy gets really damp where the heavy army ones do not, the dutch hooped one is truly perfect apart from 1500g weight
    cheers from Northumberland

      @@northumberlandmountainhopper yes, I watch your videos, you've inspired me to get out with tarp and Bivvy. For 1.5kg I'd just take a tent TBH! I'm still looking for my perfect bivvy... I have one in mind but it's expensive.

    Great video. Been looking for a bivy and have had my eye on this one. I have a Thermorest Neoair NXT rectangular wide. Do you think one of these will fit inside the bivy ?

    • @TheWalkingKev
      @TheWalkingKev  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It should do, this is a big Bivy. But to be sure just check the dimensions of the Bivy and the mat.

    Wet clothes as you crawled into the bivvy sounds very unpleasant and would be a challenge for any model. I think I would have gone for a more protective tarp set up in wet conditions like that.

    • @TheWalkingKev
      @TheWalkingKev  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'd been for a day hike earlier and forgot to switch my spare layers into my overnight bag so had to keep on my damp clothes. Far from ideal!
      Yeah, a bigger tarp would have been more comfortable but I really wanted to try my lightest combo out.
