I have done a series of videos on fuel additives poured into fuel tank on direct injection because the manufacturer states to use additives as regular maintenance same as oil changes for valves so i wanted to see if there is any evidence to back the claim
It seems that your engine has direct fuel injection system & it is only in fuel pump, injectors and possibly combustion chambers where you could see the change. However, if you have a carburetor engine, then you could have seen a difference. I would rather suggest you to disconnect the air filter from the throttle body, start the engine in a clean & open environment and spray any throttle body cleaner through the butterfly valve by rotating it partially. This way you could easily clean engine's intake manifold as well as valves.
"JET FUEL" (JP4) is #4 Kerosene. The BEST "Fuel System cleaner" I've ever used is 1 pint of acetone per 1 gallon of 90-91 octane non-ethanol gas. At that dilution ratio- it will not harm any plastic or metal components of the system. Most of the true "cleaning" action happens when the engine is shut off HOT, and allowed to sit for 30 minutes, with the cleaner mix soaking inside the fuel injectors. Restarting instantly flushes the injectors, and brings in fresh cleaner. Quick WOT blips ensure the entire pintle valve is cleaned; one constant speed only cleans at that very narrow range/pressure of a high gear/low RPM. O2/AFR sensor & Catalyst safe.
Some new gdi engines are supposed to have intermittent spraying of fuel on the intakes. Hyundai in particular has said in the past on specific times it does spray the intake valves
The gdi system that have the extra injectors and the gdi that do not i have referred to the service book and some in fact say to treat with a fuel cleaner
I put two bottles in one time thinking I'd get better results. The next day I was driving and a valve broke. I'm not sure if the cleaner did that but I highly suspected it. I hardly use any cleaner any more. Matter of fact my owners manual says that using high quality gas and you should not need additives. I drive a 1998
@@midwestpanther98 1 high quality gas already has the same additives this bottle uses, 2 the instructions on the bottle say to add the entire thing to your tank
You didnt say what type of gas you were using.. Are you using a top tier fuel such as Exxon ,Shell Bp, Chevron or are using using that crap from a typical convenient store?? Top tier fuels have extra detergents added by major oil companies that protect your engine from carbon buildup where as cheaper gas only has the Govt mandated amount of detergent added. Thats why major brand gasoline cost a few more cents per gallon.. You apparently by the looks of your valves have been using crappy cheap gasoline.
I work for the company that makes and tests STP and other fuel products.. Im a test driver that puts these engines through real life situations.. I see first hand everyday what fuel detergents do to keep engines clean when our techs break these engines down after every test... Ive never seen valves as bad as yours when using a top tier fuel.. Your valves look the way our test valves look when we run a vehicle for 5000 miles with no detergent added.. My opinion.
you have run several brands through your car....all I can say is none work on valves....maybe the chamber and injectors are cleaner though....looks like GDI owners need to either invest in a walnut media blasting kit or find a reputable shop to do it.
Checked your channel and you seem like a vary technical, smart, hands on type of MAN ha, your know some shit ha, mind my french lol. BiG Ups too your endeavors, this is what we do. "POWER" Jeremy Clarkson!!!
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Don't use the concentrated, keep using the complete. STP only really cleans your injectors, lines and fuel pump as it's basically acetone. Not really gonna clean your engine cylinder wise but it helps, but trade off is the stress on your cat if you don't upgrade it or have a high flow as the old extra carbon junk from the cylinders make it work harder. I have been using it for years. More of a 90's thing, but i does work per say. Only way to really clean your engine is to take it apart and molly made it (overhaul da bitch), but I so stand by STP's products. Get the STP crankcase oil additive, let it work till you change the oil next. It lubricates your valves and lifters.

Just to let you know , that will do absolutely nothing for the valves on that car because of direct injection. The cleaner never touches the valves.
Check out pinned comment and thank you
NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO but what’s the point of even showing the valves if you know it won’t do anything for them?

@ Buthole inspector... So where does it clean? How long does it take for you to feel the performance improving?
you don't need to measure it based on your tank size. the instructions say "empty entire contents into tank"
The fourth cylinder's valve look clean than before using the additive.
Maybe try Hotshot Gasoline Extreme. Would like to see if that would make a difference.
My tank is 11.9 gallons so should I use half the bottle or just put in all of it. Will it damage it if I put it all in?

I put a whole thing in my 4 stroke dirt bike with a 2.2 gallon tank and it was fine
If your engine has direct injector, sTp will be useless .
Can this use on 2 stroke
(I am very new to these things sorry)
I certainly worked on my 1st tank but I'm certainly not paying them for every tank.
I would try it again on something you know for certain the spray contacts the valve.

Thanks for sharing very informative
What happened of you put full bttle in onw tank
Try gummout or lucas fuel treameant i bet you'll get better results bro
I have videos on gumout and will add new one soon

Its not as affective poured in tank
would be nice to have side by sides
Wut doe yuhh guyz thank?

I appreciate your time and if you think of anything more we can do let me know
I waist 3 mnt of my life watching this
It’s not good made my car rough virbating not picking up speed
Split screen please 😂
Ok and thanks
Good hunting and luck boyz!!!
What can we add to our test
This works with any car right? Lol
What is pea?
Poly ethyline amine or something research it
It works god dang it, ah'yall gon us it. lol
Hey how can we improve our test?

Great story i appreciate you sharing and i have the stp oil additive vs lucas in a video
Jet Fuel is chemically quite similar to kerosene and clear diesel.
Yes thats neat info you should see what this additive did in two videos i done
