I can soak concrete with water and soap. It says it will clean it but nothing happens. Oh, wait if I use it with hot water in a pressure washer it works amazing. You see my point.
I love my Mitsubishis, I’ve had them on and off for almost 25 years now. Ranging from Starions, DSMs and 3000GT/Stealths. I’ve driven one Evo MR but never had the chance to own one yet
It’s a good test. It’s just not the test you wanted to see, so I recommend you run you own test, add gas and heat and vaporize it (warning, you’re messing with highly combustible liquids and vapors, might wanna skip the heat+fuel+vapor method)
For a real test, you need to mix it at the ratio of fuel, fir each additive. Then you need to get the mixture, while being agitated, without boiling the gas. Furthermore, you need to test it against varnished gas, which is what clog an injector. Carbon doesn't clog an injector, but it can change the injection spray pattern. If testing against oil cleaning, you need to see how well it dissolves oil sludge, which is what impedes oil from getting to metal to metal contact surfaces.
That is a unofficial test. First of all, if you put a spark plug in gasoline it's going to clean it. That mixture goes in gasoline. Gasoline does not get on the spark plugs when it's in the vehicle. That's why you see carbon. There is a mixture of air it cause the combustion. This makes no sense what he's doing. Put the spark plug in gasoline. It'll clean it off. Mix the product with gasoline
WHITE VINEGAR!!! Do I win a free case of Sea Foam??? That would work great if you’re living in isolation in Alaska, desert, boondocks and it’s an emergency that you need to get to a location but not life threatening. A temporary fix. Do a video changing or doing the spark plug job like in Alaska when the , mosquitoes , black flies, no-see-ums , midges, biting gnats are in full force. So show how you break down and discover spark plugs need to be fixed or replaced on your vehicle. If your in the tornado belt let’s see a video how fast you can change your plugs or help an innocent old person who needs help broke down off the road when a severe thunderstorm is approaching.!! I’d like to do that myself and imagine the views you get on TH-cam here? A tornado coming and we can see it 15 miles away. So damn dangerous though. Like changing a flat tire for an old couple or a handicap person before a tornado hits? Now that will really rack views. Yeah exactly no high heat and electricity from the spark of the spark plugs.
Because ATF is designed not to burn. So while it works well as a penetrant around the shop due to all the detergents in it, running in your fuel likely leads to more build ups due to its resistance to burn.
@chevyon37s interesting you say it creates build up. I run it as a cleaner all the time and have absolutely no build up internally. Likewise when I do oil changes at the 3-4,000 mile mark all of my vehicles old oil also looks like new oil when draining even though each have around 130-160k miles each. Only 1 vehicle i own seems to run dirty and thats the gm 1.4l turbo but still has the original turbo from 2018 and no issues. I think its also worth noting ATF is nearly the same consistency as lucas fuel treatment just red coloring. Obviously none of what I said has scientific facts attached other than my personal/professional daily experience with using ATF this way. I think it would definitely be something worth a youtube channel person to look at though.
It’s not a bad test, it’s just not the test you wanted to see. For your test, I suggest getting tiny cameras and installing them inside multiple engines of similar carbon build up. Then run the cleaner thru each at exact same operating temps. Let me know the results when you post it 👍
Oh so maybe you understand how hard of a test you’ve implicated yourself to go try. Let me know when the video is uploaded, I’d love to see the results 👍
Perhaps. Ambient temp and no gasoline is rarely how a vehicle operates. But for bench testing, I really don't want to deal with possible random combustion and explosions.
I didn’t make you watch, you could have chosen to skip to the end. Most people could come away with an idea of which cleaner they’d choose. If someone isn’t smart enough to make that decision, they could just listen to which cleaners I recommended at end of video. It’s a good test. It’s just not the test you wanted to see, so I recommend you run you own test, add gas and heat and vaporize it (warning, you’re messing with highly combustible liquids and vapors, might wanna skip the heat+fuel+vapor method)
It sounds like Fry is telling me about fuel cleaners
I’ll take that compliment 👍
@TorqueAndTwisted hell, yeah. Fry is the best!
I personally used seafoam and saw no difference..used a gumout product and it was the best stuff ever used..not the gumout in this video..
Some cars and situations don't respond much to seafoam. I've seem more good results compared to bad / no result tho. Which Gumout did you use?
Vinegar & gar mix doe?
You gonna put that thru the fuel system doe?
Where’s redline? That’s probably the best
I'll have to put redline in the next round of tests.
Thank God I'm a speed reader
LOL gotta pay attention of you might miss some goodies!
There no mystery to mystery marvel! I buy same product less then half the price.
Where you buying it?
@@TorqueAndTwisted same store where they sell marvel.
OK, so what is it that you’re buying at half price?
@@TorqueAndTwisted can’t give all the secrets away! You might figure it out? Detergent
Cool. Thanks for gatekeeping.
Berrymans B12 ftw
I’ll have to give that stuff a shot on my next test
For a real test, you need to mix it at the ratio of fuel, fir each additive. Then you need to get the mixture, while being agitated, without boiling the gas. Furthermore, you need to test it against varnished gas, which is what clog an injector. Carbon doesn't clog an injector, but it can change the injection spray pattern. If testing against oil cleaning, you need to see how well it dissolves oil sludge, which is what impedes oil from getting to metal to metal contact surfaces.
Yes, I don’t have the means to do that though. So that’s why I chose this bench test method
Go make your own test using combustion. Let me know how it goes.
If you use plain vinegar is going to be good and you save money
NEVER put vinegar in your car. This was a bench test, not an in car test
oh reclean with baking soda and vinegar
Not sure you wanna send baking soda and vinegar thru your fuel system to clean it. If you try it, please report back...
use a rubber band to hold them from falling in
Good idea...oddly I noticed just the other day that I have exactly zero rubber bands in the garage. Time to change that, thanks for the reminder.
You missed using Berrymans B12 at least one TH-cam creator I watch swears by it.
Should have tested redline. Better than any of these.
I plan on doing another round of this test with other brands. I'll be sure to include Redline. Thanks for the recommendation.
@@TorqueAndTwisted it’s very good, it was recommended to me over anything else
A small amount of foil in your gas tank will not affect anything... fyi
If it impedes the sceen, pump, filter, or injectors it most certainly will.
Hopefully those plugs didn’t come from your vehicle you got other problems!
The vehicle they came from had many many problems. Engine is currently torn down and getting rebuilt.
Why does nobody play with atf for an intake cleaner and upper cylinder lube. ATD works awesome and is much cheaper.
I think it would definitely be something worth a youtube channel person to look at though.
not a good test.your using spark plugs instead actual injectors.not a good test.
I’m showing carbon removal at its finest. Enjoy what I gave you. Make your own test if you please 👍
That's not how it's used so not very representative.
I’m showing how it cleans carbon off plugs because I don’t have a camera that can go inside of a fuel injector. Cheers
Bad test. It’s not mixed with fuel and it’s not running at engine temps.
It’s not a bad test, it’s just not the test you wanted to see. For your test, I suggest getting tiny cameras and installing them inside multiple engines of similar carbon build up. Then run the cleaner thru each at exact same operating temps. Let me know the results when you post it 👍
@ whah
Oh so maybe you understand how hard of a test you’ve implicated yourself to go try. Let me know when the video is uploaded, I’d love to see the results 👍
may have needed some heat and electric w/gasoline.....
Perhaps. Ambient temp and no gasoline is rarely how a vehicle operates. But for bench testing, I really don't want to deal with possible random combustion and explosions.
BG44k
I got a lot of comments suggesting that one, I’ll be sure to include it next round. Thanks 👍👍
Àdd redline, bg44, royal purple

Quart of methanol
Gumout is the goat
It's one of the first I ever remember hearing about, like as a kid growing up I must have seen GUMOUT ads in the car magazines / tv shows.
All of that stuff is pure junk. Cleaner isn't the whole story. That's all sell sell sell.
You don’t believe any of these have chemicals that can clean?
All junk! Just replace your plugs
Soooo where are the fuel injectors?? LMAO
Use your imagination
Talk to much,,,
Turn the volume off 👍
Never put any of this crap 💩 in your car
I think you're over exaggerating. Everything here besides the vinegar won't harm your car if used properly.
waste of time
I didn’t make you watch, you could have chosen to skip to the end. Most people could come away with an idea of which cleaner they’d choose. If someone isn’t smart enough to make that decision, they could just listen to which cleaners I recommended at end of video. Choose your adventures wisely…and don’t waste more time leaving df comments on videos, because YOU are the waste of time here
I put a gallon of vinegar in the gas tanks of my 2024 Lexus LC 500 per the instructions provided by this video. My car is now in the shop getting the engine replaced.
Congratulations on your new car 👍
Should have put it in the engine oil instead of the gas tank .then add one half cup of sugar. In the gas tank it will make it run like a bat out hell
@@jamesharrison6780 I’ll try that on my next car
