This is so encouraging! I've always been a makeup girl (I'm 71! Lol!) but starting a TH-cam channel about my books opened my eyes to looking as pro as possible. This before/after video is so good. You present so well. Binge watching your channel! Blessed!

When someone says they don't feel confident to appear on camera, it seems that adding makeup can raise anyone's confidence. This is an extremely useful video to show people that anyone can look beautiful on camera and in video, at any age.
As a guy (using far less makeup), I can still do some proper grooming with a nice hair style, nice clothes, and some light application of makeup or foundation (not as much as women, but using some which can help for blemishes). Even Sean from another channel Think Media applies a little makeup to himself in his videos to get rid of dark circles under the eyes.
As a "photoshop artist", I use "Portrait Professional" plug in software to add digital makeup to some of my model portrait photos (I apply this with care and not overdone, but as realistic as possible) and they use the same terminology for applications in this software as you do in your video and I can definitely see the difference in before and after on my portrait photos which help my photos rank higher on social media websites like Flickr or 500px or IG. Similar for real life subjects like yourself. Thanks for the demo. It all makes sense after watching!

I'm 63. No make up has become NOT an option! I like that you don't overdo it. You look very "polished" and like yourself. You look great without makeup, too, but on video, i think it DOES give you an air of more professionalism! Hair is my demon - it just does what it wants to! I like the minimal look, too. You gave some great advice! Thanks!

The differences were very educational, thank you. Simple information that makes a huge impact.

I’m not ready to wear makeup but I like your setup here, well done.
Obviously no one should feel pressure to wear makeup but you do “pop” a little better on camera with it. Likely not as noticeable in person.

Love seeing each step Amanda!! This was so good, I’m so proud seeing your progress and comfort grow with your makeup look and application throughout the year.
You look enhanced, but not overdone which (in my opinion) is the best place to be.

Thanks for this video. I was thinking of the batch filming idea so I loved seeing all your looks at the end- quite the change with just switching up shirt, hairstyle and accessories!

This is soooo cool. I appreciate all of the advice you have given here. I'm new to makeup as well, yep Tom boy child too, and it's comforting to see someone having walked the path. Definitely considering the makeup course you mentioned!!

I am 53 and makeup seems to age me but I have just started " in front of camera videos" to create tutorials.
I do not like how I look in my videos and struggling to convince myself it's o.k. because it isn't!
Your video was helpful though and inspired me to look into getting advice on the correct makeup for me. Thank you!

Love this. I started a channel and I’m finding my normal eye makeup (I like my wet line and do a copper shadow underneath) makes my eyes look dark! 😢 I was looking for some direction there lol I may have to do what you just did! ❤

I definitely used to be the minimum but have ramped up to full make up for videos…. It is still a challenge every time to get it right though… thanks for the great video!

I recently found your channel and I find your videos super helpful. I only wear makeup on camera and rarely in real life...being a tomboy myself, makeup is so intimidating but keeping it simple and natural is so important to me. Never thought to use bronzer...time to explore.

I feel like I look older when I wear makeup... but as you say there must be a way around it. Is there a brand of concealer that you recommend? Thank you for your video

I am definitely in the "low maintenance" camp, looking exactly the same in my recent videos...I tried to compensate with different virtual backgrounds :)
But honestly, I had no idea how prominent the difference is between no makeup and optimal makeup for the camera. Need to check out the course you recommend ☺️

    • @AmandaHorvath
      @AmandaHorvath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's amaaazing. As a low maintenance type - I now feel like my world has opened up and I get to experience a whole new side of myself. It's super fun. Something I never thought I'd say 😆

@@AmandaHorvath Haha I'm curious. I watched the quick start guide to make up and was wondering, do I really need 4 brushes? But then on the other hand if I want to take it seriously and use video to leverage the business, yes, I probably do need them. This is definitely landing on my "follow up list".

    Thank you,
I have been pushed for several years to put myself in the videos and I have been to shy. I'm a 59 year old guy, slightly overweight.
I can loose weight but I have more turkey neck (slightly) than I did whne I was young.
I hope that putting my face as I speak does not crash the channel. Nixon lost to Kennedy in the debate because it was the first one on television. I'm so scared that will happen to me.
Can you reccomend any particular brand for an older guy like me.
I will follow this video up to the blush but I would like a reccomended brand for my demographic.
You will be helping everyone who gets help from my channel.
    I liked and subscribed.
    -Mark

Own how you look and go for it!! Truly! Focus more on the value you're providing and WHO it will help than on yourself

I had a no-make-up Mum too and I've always been kinda scared of it, since on the few occasions I did it myself it felt amateur, overly obvious and like I wasn't me anymore. But as I'm starting the TH-cam journey to promote our business watching my stuff back I look completely washed out (I'm fair skinned and mousy blonde) so this video was really helpful for me. Nothing on the your lips though? That's one area where I'm struggling to keep a natural look but with a bit more still get a bit of colour in.

    • @AmandaHorvath
      @AmandaHorvath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I didn't mention the lips but I did add it with the hair step! I like to stick with a nice simple gloss or neutral lip stick.
The trick with lips is to balance it with your eyes. If you go heavy on the eyes, keep the lips simple and vice versa! Otherwise you look TOO made up!
      Hope that helps 🙌

Brace yourself… BRACE YOURSELF….. You. Are. Freaking. Gorgeous! After being a mom and not going out because pandemic in California is no fun… I have barely touched my makeup but I’ve been telling myself to wear it for my videos. Gives the video ooomf. Plus great lighting and angles are key too

There you GO!! And it's an excuse to get ready and feel fully put together. I'm def curious how my makeup routine will shift as I move into motherhood. I hardly ever leave the house these days either but I do my makeup anyway just to feel put together and ready for the day. Plus, it makes me much more likely to document my day via IG stories.
