    Wow. suddenly this video blew up. So glad it's helpful. Maybe i should make some more but I'm not shure whats best to cover. I use SketchUp professionally, so let me know if there is something in particular you would like me to cover. :)

    You can have the similar effect with the make version, just make every door in two modes, open and closed and put them in different layers!

    • @MrTeeF
      @MrTeeF  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In that case you would open all doors at once, not individually (or have an obseen amount of tags aka layers). You would also not se the effect of the door opening. But i do use the "opendoors" tags/layers for the layout plane.

    Thank you for sharing that video, I've made a few dynamic doors just fine. But when I was trying to create a dynamic double office door with a shared door frame, it just wouldn't work. Could you give me some tips please?

    • @MrTeeF
      @MrTeeF  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sandra... Sorry for missing your comment. The double door is pretty much the same principle, but with 2 components nested in the Dynamic door. No tutorials for it but you can take a look at this door that i have shared in the 3Dwarehouse. 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=u7a27201b-57a2-4569-93a2-f2ddba22ad46

      +Kim Bab not without a separate extention. But I'm guessing you probably could do it with a fancy Ruby script. But thats way beyond my paygrade. :P

      I think there's a way.
      Watch Aaron's series on the SketchUp channel. There is a box for the "customer" to choose options in and some of those are positions.

    I found a glitch the other day. It only works right if I'm "rotz"ing. It won't work right if I'm "roty"ing.

      Easiest way: Rigth click (opt+click) on your door and select flipp along red or green axis. ;)

    I just tried using this tutorial with Sketchup 2017 and it did not work. Every time I try to interact with the door I get "Invalid Entity to Animate" with no explanation as to what is wrong or why its 'invalid'? I am trying to create a sliding door, but when I first got the error I tried making it a rotating door and got the same results.

    • @Krahazik
      @Krahazik 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Upon further google searches fund the culprit. Apparently the Mac version does not like Quotes around the attribute. When I removed the quotes, my door suddenly was working, sliding back and fourth as its supposed to.

    hi, how to make this component to be able to open & close, say five number of door at the same time, in one click. At the moments when I copied this component I have to open & close each door separately, which is very annoying, anyone can help ??!!

    • @MrTeeF
      @MrTeeF  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Yes you can do this. Just put your door component in in another component. And open that component before using the interact tool.
      For my sake i like to controll each door seperatly, even when it´s the same door component. Actions are a way do differentiate component and still keep them "un-unique". You can for example make a component with 5 types of random plants. It´s sort of a brain cluster to explain, but the bottom line is that it´s supposed to only effect the components you interact with, even if it´s not unique.... Sorry... really bad explanation. :)

    • @MrTeeF
      @MrTeeF  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pawel P you need to nest them all in the same component and set the value and on click action on that component.
