- We were shooting a soon to be released project up in Mammoth, CA when we stumbled across this seriously fast road. Taylor and I had new aero helmets so we decided to send it, one and done!
We are wearing the new KASK Niravna helmets in Blueberry Fade cololrway, see them here safa.link/Kask...

Doing nearly constantly 50+ in a 35 zone and crossing solid lines to pursue the best possible line under clear blue skyes in a wonderful surrounding and getting tossed around by the wind….. Marvelous and simply beautiful and fun! 😂
Would love to have a downhill run that long in my area. ❤
I´m from Germany and we aren´t allowed to exceed the speed limit, even with bikes because you could lose your drivers licence.
We don’t have hills at all where I live.
The crazy thing about this descent is that you can actually make a right turn onto the highway (which has an adequate sized bike lane) and quickly reconnect to another winding canyon that descends another 10+ miles. These mountains are amazing.
smooth tarmac, almost no cars, at 80km/h awesome
I'm a simple man. I see a SAFA Brian video, I click.
Awesome video, almost 10 000ft altitude,that must be an experience,Beautiful place.💯👌🏻🚴♂️✌🏻
Some raw speed right there, you seem to be on rails too! I reckon a bigger crankset would have been perfect for this one, hitting 130rpms at those speeds is no joke
54/40 on there. I don't have the legs to ride anything bigger for day to day activities
@@SAFABrian if I may, how do you pick rim depth? is it a compromise between speed and maneuverability with crosswind? And for tires width?
With the Syncros Capital SL wheels being only 1290g for a 60mm wheelset it's pretty much always that depth now. No need to worry about climbing or maneuverability when the wheels are that light. If it's too windy for those wheels it's probably too windy to be riding fast. Tyres are 28mm as those are what these wheels are designed for, but I might go up to 30 if I want a bit more squish on rough unchartered roads.
@@SAFABrian thanks for the info - nice setup!
Bad Ass Man - Mammoth Edition 🙌🏽🍻
I pooped my pants watching this lol
@@PatrickLino 🤣🤣🤣🤣 they were flyyyyyyyyyin…
I can't wait for my first big descent!!
Your videos are very meditative to me.
Great road and beautiful cycling kits.
Is it just me, watching Brian’s videos I’m in awe and anxious at the same time.
Incredible run, so smooth and fast! Can't wait for the next.
DOPE!!! Cant wait for the Mammoth Gran Fondo in Sept. Its going to be epic. Pray For Speed!!
Looks like a video game. So awesome
I was just in Mammoth, sadly without my bike, dreaming of how amazing some of the descents in the area would be. Great to see it. Cheers from Australia.
Literally going above the speed limit at times lol
Fantastic Video Safa Thankyou
So smooth 😍
I've been hoping we'd get a Rock Creek Descent video!! Because I have a deep love for these mountains and Mammoth lakes in particular i feel like i should add some additional info.
Rock Creek Rd is the highest paved road in California at 10,255 ft. It looks like they started a little lower than the very top as there is a rougher tarmac section (still easily rideable but not as fast or fun to descend) that I didn't notice here and their starting elevation was around 9,800 ft.
Additionally, anyone who's considering riding this should also know that you can continue the fun descent by making a right turn onto the highway followed by another quick right onto another stretch of Rock Creek Rd that drops another 10 miles or so down to Bishop.
Cheers!
The only thing missing is a brake sensor so that I could learn when to brake like you guys and get the most out of it
cool stuff!
Wow beautiful video ❤❤
Very good, thank you. Could please add ascent video time to time? - It's very interesting how you climb to...
Die Straßen sind ein Traum
This area is usually crowded with cars and skiers in winter. Used to take my son to ski classes there from Bishop.
Wondering if SAFA will ride down 168 from Lake Sabrina to Bishop or from Tioga pass to Lee Vining. That'd be cool!
Awesome ride dudes! 🤙 Imagine the sick footage with a drone follow cam like we've seen in the tdf this year!? 🥳
Watxhing from the UK those roads are dreamy but you've got balls of steel - great video guys
SANO SPIN SAFA!🎉
Very good mané!
i love you safa brian, you inspire me so much, you dont even know. keep the rubber side down!
I love bike🚴 nice road and very nice down hill wow so pass👉👍💪
So beautiful.
It is fun to see that both bikes has the solid version of the seatpost. The CFT version (3 piece one) is a real pain in the ass. It is just creaking no matter what I did. I eventually ended up with ordering the solid one and waiting for the delivery hope it will solve my problem… I think scott should sell the bike with the solid seatpost by default or they should offer a replacement for free at the purchase.
We use them cos we like the weight saving. Havn't had issues with the 3 piece, and it is noticeably more compliant. Both posts are supposed to be torqued to 10nm, I think a lot of people don't know that and have it far under tightened and then blame poor design. Not sure if that applies to you.
@@SAFABrian thanks for reply. My seatpost torqued to 10nm too unfortunately it doesn’t help in my case. Putting a thin piece of inner tube between the parts was the best solution for a while but even the inner tube method doesn’t work for a very long time. I am waiting for the replacement 3 piece post via warranty also bought the solid one myself. But to be honest the bike is perfect other than the seatpost issue.
@@the_real_cansin Team DSM also uses only the solid seatpost. Are you using the Molykote grease like the manual says? Also, did Scott want your seatpost back to inspect it before giving you a new one?
@@stuarttaylor4828 I tried molykote for a while but it helps no more than 100km. Also molykote is leaking easily from the connection points of the parts. Scott did not ask for an inspection for the replacement probably becasue they redesigned the seatpost and they added a plastic material between the parts to prevent rubbing and my current seatpost is the old version. So I will have the all 3 seatpost versions in very soon. I can update here after testing the others.
@the_real_cansin that's strange because my LBS said Scott would want the part back. Basically I'd have no seatpost for like several months lol.
Nice bikes, was Taylor cold lol!
Now that’s big dog
Try riding downhill (need shuttle) from top of hwy 155 to hwy 65. Also hwy 190 west to hwy 65. You will get tired of tight, fast turns!
Вот это спуск, скорость под 90, отлично

Great to see you've got a matching sidekick now
I wonder how do they get there? Also by bikes?
Tengan cuidado con los autos que van subiendo, me da más temor a mi que a Safa

CH, NI QUE FUERA POGASCA O PAZ
What chain ring are you running to be able to still push 400 watts downhill ?
SAFA, You don't need aero helmet. Contact Air Force for reasonable size drag chute!
You know you have good equipment when you are doing 85km/h on -6% this was epic
From Europe, there was a STOP table not? 😢😮😅
That was pretty amazing....Also great choice on clothing! If you know you know. If you know you don't wear any other brand!
Imagine a pro peloton on those long straights with tailwind
I want to watch but I also don’t. I’ll watch through my fingers.
❤❤❤
Can you tell me what bottom bracket you run please?
Curious why you don't just go 60t front chainring so you don't end up running out of gearing?
We do a lot of climbing on these bikes too
👍💯👍
So fun what’s the name of the road again?
Fast
Getting tossed around like a feather at 50+ mph… just another day at the office for SAFA.
Hey Brian, I’m the fella that met you at breakfast at Gran Fanes Hotel in Corvara Friday the day before Maratona. Hope you had a great race. Russ, Cheers!
I had a great time out there. Hope you enjoyed the Dolomites. Thanks for saying hi!
@@SAFABrian That trip is indelibly etched in my mind! Enjoying following your adventures as always.
My only question is how can there be no cars. Can we have the deleted scenes with the close calls?

Kinda boring.
Bro i also want to purchase bicycle like you but cannot have enough money. Can you help me please
Yeah for sure man, just give me your parents credit card number and I'll drop money on there for you
I financed an Addict 30 (europoor), maybe thats an option for you.
Look for something used. Tons of great bikes out there for cheap if you look around locally.
My first SCOTT was a used one I found a great deal on and worked overtime for.
