If you struggle with high/low blood sugar at night, watch "4 Bedtime Foods for PERFECT Overnight Blood Sugar (th-cam.com/video/LJGD0elTwlY/w-d-xo.html), where I break down what to eat for perfect blood sugars at night. Or watch "19 Ways to Lower Your A1c" (th-cam.com/video/k-AfKq-CPc8/w-d-xo.html) to learn my best tips for lowering your A1c.
For me it is all about A1c under 7,... 40 years ago my Endo told me anything under 8 would be good. The tighter the blood sugar the more lows! Live life!
I have taken ozempic and mounjaro, this changes things. at least from my experience. The carbs are delayed entering the blood stream (food takes longer to leave stomach making you feel fuller longer) so your insulin is burned off before the carbs are burned off, So I see a carb spike about 3 1/2 hours after the meal and the insulin is mostly burned off.
You can find a bit of pro and con for pumps in this video: th-cam.com/video/3dFRDTi4FvE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nRwn1773HLjscErl But I’ll also think about how I could make a more comprehensive pump guide
Hi great tips !! Yes my fast doesn’t work that fast always an hour to see movement . What to do when you haven’t taken enough to cover the carbs do you wait the 4 hours for correction dose ???? Thanks
My 15 years old son is newly diagnosed diabetic type 1 few months ago always strugling with high over 200 every days every meal and also runs low i was told that lispro is weaker and doesn’t drop blood sugar fast and definitely not 50 per unit i was told novologue is better specifically for teens what do you think ? Also wich is better isulin pen or omnipad he still in pen thank you hope you make video about it
In my experience, Humalog and Novolog work the same, but I have heard of others who find one works better than the other. Since he's newly diagnosed the blood sugar fluctuations could be that he's 1) honeymooning (meaning he still has a small erratic insulin production) or maybe 2) that his carb counting, insulin dosing, or dosing timing isn't dialed in yet (this takes time). This article might help with dosing: diabetesstrong.com/insulin-to-carb-ratios/ As for a pump or pen, that really depends on your son and his preference. He can be successful on both. If he sticks with a pen I'd recommend he gets an InPen (from Medtronic) it helps calculate doses and keep track of what he has taken. You can see a video on why I choose pens over a pump here: th-cam.com/video/3dFRDTi4FvE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GP3H9zPcTvZVFQs5
I am sorry you have to work so hard. Fortunately for me, I am type 2. I only use insulin when I don't have Metformin. I have been a practicing engineer since the late 1970's. This has taught me how to read and interpret graphs. Before I got fed up with Abbott's CGMs, I would track what did what. I know what makes the numbers rise, what lowers them, and what does next to nothing. I don't worry about times the glucose goes up, even way up, as long as it comes back down in a reasonable amount of time. Great video, as usual for you.
When doctors do bloodwork/lab tests for diabetes/A1C tests on a normal person, aren't those glucose levels elevated ?? Seems like most people would have over 100 levels ??

I learned a lot from Things aside from food that can impact blood sugars section. Thanks Christel.
It’s such an important learning!
Big thanks!! ♥😘

Can you discuss insulin pumps pros and cons and compare different products

This was such a practical, informative video. Thx so much.
Thank you so much. I’m so glad you found it helpful

I generally don’t wait the full 4 hours. Usually after 2 hours, but if it’s shooting up significantly sometimes earlier

I bet the detailed understanding of the graphs and your numbers is part of why you’re doing so well 👏🏽
Here is another example one cup of coffee with cream and a artificail sweeter I have to count 8 grams carbs..however online1-2 so careful!
is it true that coffee (caffeine) in the morning will increase glucose levels ?? Caffeine ??
Yes, some people will see an increase in blood sugars when they drink caffeinated drinks
Carb counting is easy one regular slice bread 20grams of Carbs. Trick is fat and digestion
When doctors do bloodwork/lab tests for diabetes/A1C tests on a normal person, aren't those glucose levels elevated ?? Seems like most people would have over 100 levels ??
If the person has untreated diabetes blood sugars will most likely be elevated but not everyone has blood sugars over 100
👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪
