    You have saved my life and my sanity. I used a pre-mixed grout and have tried 10 different products to get the excess grout and grout haze off. Nothing worked until I saw your video, I ordered it and it came literally 10 minutes ago and it works! Thank you so much!

    You are a life saver! I installed 700sf of porcelain tile and grouted it with Stainmaster stain proof epoxy grout. I followed all the manufacturers directions and still ended up with an epoxy haze on the 18"x18" tiles. The good folks at Lowes were at a loss to recommend a product or method to resolve this issue. I tried your solution and WOW! It works. IT WORKS!!!!! Thank you.

    Your video really helped me get the haze of my new shower tile from Fusion Pro latex grout. The tile was white and I had a green Scotch scrubbie to use, dipped in a plastic dish with a non-cement liquid haze remover. I rinsed it off with a damp sponge and wiped it dry with a towel. Turned out great.

    really good video on dealing with frosted glass as its texture makes it a lot harder to clean haze off of than solid clear glass tiles. But just to clarify because it wasn't specified and some might not be aware, this product won't work with cement (portland cement) based grouts. This is an epoxy grout haze remover (neutral ph and somewhat water soluble dimethyl esters that work as a solvent on many epoxies). The strong cement based grout haze removers to apply to frosted glass are typically organic acid based (ph around 1 if you review the product SDS sheets. So substitute those products (dilute with h20 as recommended) for this one and apply pretty much the same as she applies this product to clean the tile. Just be sure to have an appropriate filtration mask and gloves if working with the acid based product for cement based grout applications.

    I've had the same problem grouting a darker color. I ended up calling Mapei and was directed to use sulfamic acid to etch the new grout I'd just laid. The grout was improved, but the acid etched the tiles. Never once did they suggest Maximizer or the product you tried. Thanks for the helpful video.

    next time you tile something, clean the grout off with a damp sponge. once it stops being shiny on the seurface of the tile you can take a DRY cloth and dust the haze off with light to medium pressure. ive been installing tile for over 2 decades. it works everytime and ive never had to buy or use haze remover.

    • @AlcivarStudio
      @AlcivarStudio 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Andrew Hebert We just had bathroom floor tile installed. There is so much of that white fine dust all over. Would you recommend vacuuming it first before cleaning it with a damp sponge, or a damp mop in our case?

    • @TheAbear360
      @TheAbear360 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlcivarStudio if you add moisture it will always leave some residue behind. I wipe the grout down with a wet sponge when the tops of the tile are no longer glossy from wetness but the grout joint are still dark and full of moisture. This is the sweet spot. Cleaning the grout at this time will leave a haze. But once the glossy look fro. The water in the sponge dries. Wipe it with a bone dry cloth to polish. Let the grout sit over night. Then sweep and vacuum as you normally would now that the grout has cured.

      Rebecca Veasey I’m dealing with the exact same thing right now. I’m devastated because I spent $4k on this shower renovation to make it a handicap accessible shower and now I’m left with all this work I’m having to figure out how to do myself before my mom gets discharged. She had 3 strokes back to back and we’ve had to renovate the ENTIRE house to make it safe for her as she is needs 24/7, full on care. The grab bars they’ve installed are loose, grout all over her bathroom and bedroom from their inconsiderate behavior (along with cigarette butts all over my yard), sharp tile edges exposed everywhere.... I’m a crying mess.

    Best how-to on this topic I've seen! Thank you so much! Wanted to ask if this would work with marble flooring? And since it's grout haze could it be done to clean up the white residue on colored grout? Thinking yes.....

  • @AngusKroll

    Your tips are great BUT you never mentioned what type of grout was used originally. It's important to match the type of haze remover with the kind of grout that was installed. Typical, cement based powders that are mixed with water should NOT use this type of haze remover. There are standand grout (cement-based) haze removers. If you used an epoxy based grout, this product will work great. But again, it's important to note what kind of grout was used before you recommend a specific haze remover. While the clean might work if missed-matched, you might be damaging the grout itself and its longevity. Urethane grout has its own type of haze remover too.

    Does this method affect the actual grout lines? I need to clean the awful grout chunks left ALL over my brand new tile from floor to ceiling. The unprofessional company I hired to renovate my bathroom left a massive disaster for me to clean myself. They said it would just come off with water yet I can’t use the shower for 2 days so now it’s completely dried on my gorgeous new tile. I’ve never done anything like this so I’m worried I’m gonna end up messing up the grout in the “joints” in between the tile

    What kind of grout did you use? Someone probably sold you on some expoxy garbage cause it's expensive. Epoxy grout is rated for industrial situations factories animal hospitals that kinda thing...more than overkill for your home. DON'T USE EPOXY GROUT IN YOUR HOME! Regular cementicious modified grout is fine. And the thing about that cleaner is it not only takes the haze off but reconstitutes the epoxy so it will be sticky again in the joints.
