My Achilles’ heel is strawberries 😊I’ve been ketovore for 6+ years, I cheat with keto treats, have never looked back on the SAD. Gained back 30 lbs eating homemade keto cookies. I definitely need to be a meat eater… the only way I can lose the sweet tooth
I feel your alls pain. I eat raw almond butter with my blue berries and strawberries! Even worse lol. We are still in good shape if that's the worst we eat though !
If your idea of a major transgression is having some berries, I think you will be fine. Wolves eat berries and nobody is going to revoke their carnivore cards and tell them they are "doing it wrong". Now if you went face first into a stack of pancakes and syrup, that's different.
I was given a box of chocolates for Mothers Day..I would normally eat the whole lot in a day.. lnstead, I picked out my 2 favorites (peppermint dark chocolate) and sucked them slowly ❤ Gave the rest of them to the grandkids. That was a biggie for me😊
I'm eating like crazy right now.... but all meats. Beef jerky, slim jim's, tuna salad, and chicken salad. I bought them in case of emergency months ago in case of a fall out with cravings. Eating all of it... and two pots of coffee so far while watching this video. I confessed here. Oh boy. I love your channel. ♥️♥️♥️
I have raw milk & honey or else it’s going to be bags of chips , icee cream , candy & then I’m off the rails for MONTHS. Thank you Amanda for keeping it real ❤❤ stress is a huge trigger for me !!! I LOVE to snack !
Heavy whipping cream saves me. I use in coffee, tea and in a chicken soup, oyster stew and clam chowder. And I stir it into meat drippings to make a gravy. Try it! ❤️🐶
Grim carnivore confession: I'm really at washing dishes , really lazy. I cook my hamburger meat , eat it right out of the pan, toss the pan into the freezer until the next day. After the 3 day I finally get ashamed enough to wash it but what to do with all the lovely fat and char in the pan? 6-8 egg yolks to deglaze the pan , the most delicious egg dish I've ever had. *🥴
I had a slip up last night! We were at our granddaughter's softball game and got home late, I hate to eat dinner at 9 pm, but I went ahead and made our steaks. Hubby was fine, but after I was so hungry I went and ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but today it is back on track!! I need to be prepared in case of getting home later than usual!! I need to have snacks with me just in case! I pray your doggie gets better quick! Thank you for keeping it real Amanda, we are human and we fail sometimes! I did get those Redmond's salt blocks and I do take those too!!
Oh well, sometimes, a PBJ is just the thing you need, you are fine, I remember doing whole grain Brownberry bread, with Smucker's natural peanut butter, and Knotts Berry Farm blackberry jam, I am not the worse for wear, it will put on the pounds, but, it was just a treat! Don''t beat yourself up.
I like to keep a bowl of pre-cooked chop meat in the refrigerator. When I get home late or don't have time to cook a lot sometimes just heating up a little chop meat with butter or if you can just fry an egg and throw it on top helps.
Amanda…this hit home and what I needed After 5 month no sugar no carbs, I hit railroaded this past Friday. Once I started I didn’t stop 😢. Woke up Saturday with darn depression thoughts and mad at myself. BUT first time ever I jumped eight back into plan ❤ Small setback but still forward. Thank you for you inspirational videos and honesty❣️
My confession: Last night I had a Chaffle cheeseburger with grilled onions and Best Foods mayo! Not carnivore but it scratched an itch and it sure beat going off the rails. The funny thing is I didn’t feel the “oh well I will start again tomorrow” Thank you Amanda!
I have set aside one day a week as a cheat day (if I want it), but only if I was totally faithful all week, not extreme just a little like one item. Just knowing I have that one-day changes something inside me mentally. Sometimes I get to that day and say, no thank you I'm good and go another week.
Good for you if you can have just one cheat day. Me personally one cheat day turns into a cheat week a cheat week to a cheat month 2 cheat months ..at infinitum😊 after three years of doing that Insanity I decided that all or nothing is better than cheat days but I applaud anybody that can have a cheat day and get back on track😊
2 plus years carnivore, and I’m still figuring out which carnivore foods work best for me. It’s a learning curve. Being aware of your feelings is paramount.
I fell off carnivore for a spell... my arthritis and anxiety came back with a vengeance😮!!! So my body overruled my cravings... a lil slip made me regurge a jalepeno and thought I'd die from that-- yesterday's 2 scoop butter pecan woke me up today with the most volcanic heartburn I've ever had in my entire life! I think I can safely say NOW I'm convinced that carnivore is for me because my body says so!!! (X binger)❤
Amanda! Your content continues to be on point!! Thank you for your transparency. Honestly, your struggles with emotional eating has "me" written all over it! Bring the demons out of the closet. Expose them! Then they will die! This equals confession, repentance, and forgiveness!! God's Word for sure!! Thanks again for your transparent content!! Be safe, and God bless!
I don't get tempted at the checkout with chocolate, but I still try to have some here and there which isn't working either. I'm going no dark chocolate June through August, please wish me luck.
I don't know if y'all had tried this or not but you may want to see about taking your dog to an animal chiropractor. I know that sounds a little odd but that might give her some more relief. Just Google "animal chiropractors in Washington State" and you will see several animal chiropractors. Hopefully, one of them will be close to you.
The last week has been difficult. Craving ice cream and chocolate. Gave in and got it out of my system. Today is a new day and I will carry on with carnivore. Got a bunch of under $5 steaks and am ready to do better!!
Cuisinart ice cream maker is a little pricey, but it makes Kiltz carnivore ice cream so easy to make. I wondered if it would be comparable to the chemicalized stuff , lotsa egg yolk makes it like Marble Slab , so good. When I see ice cream now at the store I get zero triggers
About a month ago I binged and ate an entire pan of brownies, by myself, in one sitting. It was a strange, out-of-control experience. Was that really me? Afterward, not only did I feel physically ill for several days, but mentally shattered. I felt shocked and couldn’t get my mind around what I had done. I told the weight loss group I attend about it, but I don’t think they could relate. One member said, “All you did was eat food. Save your guilt for real sin.” That did help me “snap out of it” a bit, but it wasn’t until weeks later when I mentioned it to a friend who had struggled with bulimia for thirty years that I felt seen and understood. She could relate to the post-binge mind shock and knew exactly how I felt. It’s wonderful when we support each other’s journeys (and we should be supportive) but there are many things in life that we just can’t understand unless we experience them personally. Despite the remorse and shame this event made me feel, I’m grateful for what it taught me, and while I wouldn’t wish my friend’s trials on her or anyone else, I’m grateful for someone who could understand how I felt.
A bit of humor... my neighbor invited me for some fish. What she had with it is Puerto Rican beans and rice. Food that i grew up on that you can't get in a restaurant. I had 3 helpings and went into a carb high aka food coma.😂 Point is, the reaction for some can be dreadful. But it's much easier to get back on the carnivore horse than any other eating plan. I agree with you that getting the salt, electrolytes and minerals are critical. This video was right on time and I thank you!
I have cravings all the time, I just drink water and eat pork rinds because I like crunchy things and if is a sweet craving I will have a piece of chocolate and I won't see them in months after I have I I don't feel bad for it because I know we are adjusting to a new style of eating after being eating wrong my entire life. I also eat pizza like once every 2 to 3 months it started with 3 pieces now I'm down to 2 pieces and I know that when the time comes there will not be any at all. Keep going you are an inspiration to us.
Thank you for keeping things real, Amanda! Thank you for providing encouraging words to build up others and to pull us out of All or nothing thinking. To those few people who are perfect out there and don't cheat at all, goody for you. For the rest of us, keep getting back up on that horse. You'll make it!😊
Hey Amanda! I am going through this cycle right now. I cannot believe I am struggling so bad staying on track. I do good and then fall off the wagon for a meal then have to start all over again 😡 what you are saying about being an emotional eater might be my issue as well. I appreciate these tips and bringing awareness!
My craving is always peanut butter. Always. I can go a long time without then suddenly I can’t stop thinking about it. Ugh. I ordered the salt rocks and I have a good bit of LMNT. Sometimes I definitely fail. I’ve learned from watching you to get right back on track so I try not to sweat it. Thank you, Amanda. It’s very important for me, health wise, to stay carnivore. ❤️❤️Thank you for sharing.
Love watching you go through your journey. You are a "Real" inspiration because we are seeing you pretty much from the beginning. Struggles, victories and all. Really good advice as I have been off and on and beat myself up. I have finally figured out why I have been falling and hopefully, got a grip on it. Keep up the good work.
Speaking of repenting - When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, fatty liver last August I had no one to blame but myself. Both issuse are 100% unnecessary for any of us to have. I believe we ought to be a good steward of all that God gives us and that includes the body we live in. I asked God to forgive me because I clearly had not been and asked him for wisdom to know how to take care of my body going forward and that is when I found keto/carnivore.
Been keto 41yrs tried carnivore wasn't for me 6 months didn't lose and oz and felt no difference. Keto for me is great at 69yrs old no meds no health issues. Just pure clean eating 30 carbs a day.
I really don’t have support. Maybe one person. Everyone I know tells me I’m doing it wrong, I shouldn’t do it, I NEED carbs, I am not going to keep it up, it’s not sustainable…..etc. If I “confess” to most any of my friends, they will tell me all of the above. Very depressing
Amanda I absolutely adore you and you are a great inspiration. I will be finishing up my 2nd week of carnivore on Sunday. I’ve lost barely anything but my clothes fell much better and more importantly I feel amazing. Today my husband and I walked 2.5 miles. Not all at once but with a rest but this is HUGE!! My knee usually bothers me and just towards the very end it did. I am so glad you are making these videos. I will refer back to them on my journey. Thank you for the time and thought you put into these!!
Yes, we all make mistakes. The important thing is to stand up again, and keep moving when we fall. Don’t beat yourself too much about it. You wouldn’t do that to a friend, so why do it to yourself? 😁 By the way. I too have picked up food from the trash in the past. It was a chocolate 😉 Nowdays I just don’t keep them in the hose, so I physically have to get out if I really want one. I also limit the size.
Your bloopers Amanda are brilliant. Thank you for this fair dinkum video! Excellent. I heard a Bible based talk where the speaker highlighted getting back up after a lapse, or fail etc. He said, imagine you've tripped maybe on a step, and ended up on your knees or completely prone. Do you just lay there? Do you not attempt to get back up? Do you reject help? No, people get up even if they're hurting, be it physical or mental (embarrassed/ashamed). They pick themselves up. They accept help. Lapsing is human. Lapsing is NOT RElapsing (to return to a worse way of life after making an improvement). Just keep at it. I'm speaking from experience myself 🙄😊. Today is a fresh day (I'm in Australia so it's nearly 8am here). Again, thank you Amanda and Scott!!
Coming clean by being honest with yourself and others makes you stronger. Lying and deceiving yourself and others makes you weaker. You are getting better and stronger. I am working on it too.
This video was right on time for me, I've been doing carnivore a month and last Friday was my 61st birthday and my daughter in law always bakes me a cake for my birthday and I just got off track and completely binged that Sunday but Monday I got right back on plan and have done good every since and I needed to hear that sometimes in this journey I'm going to make mistakes cause I too have struggled with binge eating for years
I think the key is what you shared toward the end about facing our emotions and getting them out there, either in a journal or to a supportive friend. I e been an emotional eater most of my 60 plus years and pin pointing what I’m feeling and dealing with it in a healthy way when I’m starting to crave or want to binge is the true challenge!
"Failure is only when we stop getting back up." YES, YES, YES! For me, this idea has helped me begin to forgive myself and celebrate that I keep getting back up.
Thank you for this information it makes sense. I have had a bad weekend. I finally figured out why I hadn't got my husband's headstone. I don't want it to be final. I also emotionally at some things I shouldn't. Tomorrow I will do better.
So I have my credit card set up for text notifications when it’s used. And I added my accountability partner as a person who received those texts. That way, if I ever do go spend money and have a chest meal, I know my accountability partner will know. Helps me a lot!!
You are so motivating. So glad to have found your channel! I am a lot like you in my thinking. Once I fail a diet, oh well may as well just fail all the way and quit. I am planning on starting carnivore after I get back from Disney at the end of the month. You are awesome!
Spot on advice. Food has been my everything too. Ate when I was hungry, sad, happy, stressed etc. Basically it was my source of entertainment. Keeping my fat consumption high when the cravings come helps.
Since I've been a carnivore I haven't had any cheat meals. I have some quest products should I have a really bad day, for example, my cousin sued my father's estate for reasons, etc. So I'm rather angry about it and I had a quest peanut butter cup out of frustration. That's about the worst I've done. The carnivore really has knocked out my cravings except in super high-stress situations.
Amanda, you are amazing! Are you a therapist? You certainly could be. I so appreciate how empathetic and inspirational you are! I needed this message tonight! Thank you! ❤
Amanda thank you for this talk, I so needed this, because when I fall off the band wagon and roll down the hill, I beat my self up, tell my self you are such a failure, you can never do this, but learning to still get up and keep trying.
I understand what you went through, i sabotaged myself when i did Keto. You encouraged me to try Carnivore, I'm on day 3 now. It's a tough plan eating meat, eggs, butter, and bacon which I'm not a fan of pork. I'm trying to find a book for beginners. My thought process now is, to do the screw up and get back on the bandwagon🌟
Amanda thank you so much for sharing your journey, I am having a hard time adjusting due to cravings and feeling guilty about any that I am not perfect at.😢😢😢
This week I was so stressed that I ate peanut butter. Peanut butter is My Kryptonite and I really need to stay away from it but my daughter has all the jars I had in my pantry when I changed my diet and now I'm at my daughter's house so I still have it in my face. I stay out of her snack closet but I knew the peanut butter was there and I needed it😂 it didn't really make a difference as far as anything was concerned with my weight of my body but it's not something I want to keep doing
I thought Kelbssa is okay i actual bought a jar of blue cheese stuffed olives thinking I could just eat a few but woofed the whole jar, dang i suck , but now I know not to do that
Potato salad,Cole slaw, doritos and 2 cookies at my brother's cookout. Just a one day thing...back at it tomorrow. I also ate meat as burgers on the grill....the bad stuff was very small portions....oh well...lol
I managed 14 days no binging or cake. Then I craved fruit. I decided to have a zero carb/calorie pepsi, cherry flavour. I never used to drink these! Thought it harmless. Then I had 2 cans. Which I expect you guessed, I felt strong enough to have fruit. Here I am now having just binged on sugary stuff. I noticed I felt hungry after the soda. Prior to that, the 14 days I felt full on carnivore/low carb. Difficult doing this alone. Thank you for all your advice.
I had a cheat snack and i planned it. I don't feel guilty. It was just one Boston cream donut and i loved every bite. I am planning a cheat snack once a month. I lost two pounds the next few days.
I don’t have cravings anymore. Not like I did when I was on keto. And I’m not a sweets eater so when I have a craving it’s not like I’m binging on cakes cookies or anything like that. Now today was a planned so-called cheat day. I cook for my mother every day because she has dementia and I go over every morning and make sure that she gets a proper meal which is usually eggs, bacon, or an omelette or something high-protein, and then I do a lot of other stuff but today we had family restaurant style breakfast that I went and got from the restaurant. It was a planned cheat day. What I had was hash, hashbrowns and eggs and toast. I made two meals out of it not that that makes it any better. And it was delicious but I haven’t had a cheat day for a very, very long time. I don’t cheat with pizza, the only cheats I have are hashbrowns for breakfast for camping french fries with just hamburger patties while traveling and an occasional Thai food with my mom because that’s her favorite. If I cheat once a month I would be surprised but the cravings? You know I don’t have cravings And I think that’s because I’m not into the sweets
You have to remember that nitrates and nitrites can still be eaten on carnivore so you still did not eat off carnivore but in your mind you did not want to eat nitrates and nitrites so you feel like you had an off meal but realize nitrates and nitrites are really not an off carnivore meal so every time you eat these just remember they are doing dirty carnivore but still doing carnivore.Because with my low amount of money to do Keto with I have to eat meats with nitrates and nitrates or I would not have much meat to eat.
I have loved your journey. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad. You are such an inspiration . I have LMNT. Is there a limit on how many to drink in a day?
Two weeks ago I had a total hip replacement and I had friends bring over meals for myself and family. I decided before I had the surgery that I would stop carnivore. (Side note all the different dinners that were given us really didn’t taste as good as I thought they would) I really don’t feel guilty. I knew that once I started feeling better I would get back on board. I weighed myself and I had gained 12 Lbs in Two weeks not sure if it was all fat it could have been water and inflammation? I’m going on third week from my surgery still having to take painkillers but I’ve started back carnivore. Not sure if I’m fat adapted yet. It’s been four days. I’ve had my days where I cheated but I’ve always picked right back up. I’ve been Ketover since September 2022 I’ve lost 60 lbs ~ the 12Lbs that I’ve gained back but I’m determined to get to my goal weight. Thank you Amanda for sharing your journey with us. You are so encouraging. We will keep on keeping on.
Edison fail ten thousand times before perfecting the lightbulb😊 each failure is not a failure it's actually a stepping stone, a lesson on what not to do
Cheated many and still at ideal weight i just focus next time keep your body moving it all works out 97% carnivore works for me 😊 😊carnivore keeps us focused more easily
I had one of those times today. Followed your suggestion and allowed myself a dill pickle spear and that did the trick. Craving gone. Where do you get such a big salt rock?
5+ years of keto/carnivore and I binged on blueberries last night like a 400 pound grizzly bear. 😁 Oh well. Today is a new day and a fresh start.
😊
Blueberries can take me down very quickly.

a few times a month, about two, i have to let myself have oatmeal cookies - I do it, and then move on - this is not a diet, it's life
So true!💯

I've found that when I'm having a craving not caused by stress 90% of the time it's my body actually craving salt and not something sweet
I’ve failed so many times at this diet but what keeps me coming back is the reward of how good you feel on it
I have raw milk & honey or else it’s going to be bags of chips , icee cream , candy & then I’m off the rails for MONTHS.

Great analogy about the darkness and mold vs sunlight killing mold

Been keto 41yrs tried carnivore wasn't for me 6 months didn't lose and oz and felt no difference. Keto for me is great at 69yrs old no meds no health issues. Just pure clean eating 30 carbs a day.
Thank you for this. I really needed it.
@Kayaking Grandma Kelly are you on the Discord group?
@@KatrinaT I don’t know what that is.
Awesome Amanda! Keep up the good work!!! You are always a precious inspiration!
Yes, we all make mistakes. The important thing is to stand up again, and keep moving when we fall. Don’t beat yourself too much about it. You wouldn’t do that to a friend, so why do it to yourself? 😁
By the way. I too have picked up food from the trash in the past. It was a chocolate 😉
Nowdays I just don’t keep them in the hose, so I physically have to get out if I really want one.
I loved the wet clothes analogy! Never heard that before but it’s great 👍🏻
Coming clean by being honest with yourself and others makes you stronger.
Lying and deceiving yourself and others makes you weaker.
You are getting better and stronger.
I am working on it too.
Great advice! You may fail, but never quit. Get back up and keep moving forward. God Bless!
Hi thanks for this video. I needed to hear this! Your #1 fan from the SF Bay Area 🙏❤️
Reading through all these comments and watching your videos make me want to cry because this is so me...
Humor is so contagious ..bloopers .. love it
Yes sweetie we need to give us the grace for do overs 🙌🙏🙌💋🌹💋
I love the idea to consider a reasonable response! I have been using it and it cuts down on so much of my anxiety.
Thank you for sharing your carnivore experiences
I needed this today really hard! THANK YOU
This video was right on time for me, I've been doing carnivore a month and last Friday was my 61st birthday and my daughter in law always bakes me a cake for my birthday and I just got off track and completely binged that Sunday but Monday I got right back on plan and have done good every since and I needed to hear that sometimes in this journey I'm going to make mistakes cause I too have struggled with binge eating for years
I think the key is what you shared toward the end about facing our emotions and getting them out there, either in a journal or to a supportive friend. I e been an emotional eater most of my 60 plus years and pin pointing what I’m feeling and dealing with it in a healthy way when I’m starting to crave or want to binge is the true challenge!
Yes because then versus eating the emotion we dont want to deal with, we face it head on so NO need to eat it!
Aww I am so sorry for your loss tc, thats very big of you to look inside and realize whats going on at a time like that. I am hugging you from afar
Give yourself permission your going they a lot 😔
I’m only half way through this video and I just can’t tell you how happy I am that you made this video.
Bless you.
I love you! such an intelligent inspirational person!
Amen Amanda!!! Thank you & God bless you & hubby!!! Keep fighting the GOOD fight!
I think this was your best video so far. People can relate to you because you are so genuine and honest.
You are SUCH an encouragement! I am benefiting so much by your videos! God bless you ❤️
What a great idea!!! Write it out. Thank you for that simple yet assumingely effective idea.
You always have such great advice Amanda. Thank you❤
Thank you! I needed this. ❤
Amanda thank you so much for sharing your journey, I am having a hard time adjusting due to cravings and feeling guilty about any that I am not perfect at.😢😢😢
thank you for your videos i find when i fail im more motivated to knuckle down and stay focused . ... not perfect, i struggle with impatience
Love you, girl! Keeping it real as usual ❤️
Thank you for sharing your experience strength and hope I love listening to you and it really helps me. Thank you.
I thought Kelbssa is okay i actual bought a jar of blue cheese stuffed olives thinking
I could just eat a few but woofed the whole jar, dang i suck , but now I know not to do that
Potato salad,Cole slaw, doritos and 2 cookies at my brother's cookout. Just a one day thing...back at it tomorrow. I also ate meat as burgers on the grill....the bad stuff was very small portions....oh well...lol
Baby Girl, Dr. Berry said nitrates are fine to eat! Look it up!!!
So much wisdom ❤
You two are great!
Great suggestions! You are doing awesome! Thanks for sharing your journey, it is very encouraging to many ❤
I binge watched your vids and you have gotten so good at them. They flow well and are so interesting!
😢 I’ve had a week off wagon…
I don't have cravings but I don't want to eat anything..im tired of meat and eggs but don't want anything else.
Thank you for sharing. ❤
A Top Tier MLB player Strikes Out 2 out 3 times.
Thank you Frank, appreciate the encouragement
Love the contents… And the bloopers 😂 13:38 13:38
🤣🤣🤣🤣too funny 555666 thousand time 555667? To cute your such a joy to watch !!😊
I love mustard too.❤
I eat entirely carnivore... Except for my mustard.
By the way you look very pretty.
I had one of those times today. Followed your suggestion and allowed myself a dill pickle spear and that did the trick. Craving gone. Where do you get such a big salt rock?
Redmonds has a pack of about 6 crystals. I keep one in my purse, in the car easily accessible
I threw the link in the description (not affiliated with redmond just love the crystal!)
YAS!! I made up a few bags to keep em around the house, car and purse!
I just got mine the other day. Loving them so far!
@@janetmcburney4582 I love that idea!
I made an egg pudding last night and I put cinnamon on it, but it was my old cinnamon that had a little sugar in it. Lol oops
Thank you honey! I binged badly the whole month of May. I’m disgusted with myself! 😫
You can do it ... one day at a time. Falling off is just a step in learning.
❤
