I bought this and I am almost finished it. It is the first time I have ever done anything like this and you have really helped with the parts I have struggled with. thanks.
I know this video is 2 years old but I've been building this model and it has been SO helpful to see someone else building it lol. Couldn't for the life of me figure out what the instructions meant when they said to assemble the brake discs without glue
Really like these full build videos. Revell does such an abundance of decals. I love it. Great looking build. Really should consider getting a few more Revell kits....
Glad you liked it. I find that the race car builds often have too much going on to easily make one video but the road cars aren't too bad like this. There's a few really great Revell kits that I've made recently.
Thomas, I am partial to the coupe version. Looks like Revell is producing some nicely detailed kits lately. The end result really is impressive. Thanks for showing the process Thomas you have produced another fine model.
Thanks for the tip on using superglue to fit the disc brakes. Mine kept falling off when I tried fitting the wheels. After threatening to throw the thing against the wall I came to the conclusion only superglue would do. I will now get some. Nice build though, I hope mine will be as good. I'm painting mine in black.
in my eyes, the G generation was the most beautiful of the 911s - sleek 'drop' design, 'fast' looking but still a daily driver Bought the 3.2 Targa version just couple of days ago. Before I'll get my hands on this one I want to sharpen my skills on other kits.
Awesome work! Very tempted to get one. I’m currently working on a Revell 1/16 356. The body work needs so much attention. The rest of the kit is almost perfect.
Nice build looks like a great kit. I know it is a small thing but I really like when the door handles are separate parts. If I buy any version it will be the Coupé. It is difficult to choose my favorite 911 it tends to change from time to time but atm I would say the 996.
I bought both this and the targa kit, built that one first but had issues with the way the body sat on the chassis and the stance. I got so frustrated after soending many days on it that I destroyed it. I wonder if I screwed up or if the body wasn’t molded straight. I’ll have to check my coupe kit now before I get too involved.
Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. A friend of mine had an issue with his Revell E type body being warped out of shape. He contacted Revell spares and he got sent a replacement. Give it a try maybe.
Another nice build. The color you've chosen suits the car very well. This seems to be a good kit, good amount of detail, and I'd love to build it one day. Shame about the sink marks, though.
Great video! It’s so strange, every European release I have seen a video of has those annoying sink marks on the back of the kit. I have one I got a few months ago here in the USA (molded in white) that doesn’t have those at all. Looks perfect along the back. Is this just because it’s the North American release, or did all kits get the molding fixed in the months after release?
Thank you, Fido. It's a shame as the same issue impacted some of their E type kits. As far as I'm aware, the Euro releases came out first and issues were fixed before the American releases.
Looks great! It's going to be my 3rd scale car ever build and your video helps with doing preparation to kick off the project. I have just finished 934 RSR by Revell on my channel 🙃
Thank you very much - it's a great one to do I think and so much better than the older Revell 911 I made. I'll have a look at your 934 when I get the chance.
Thank you. Well, there's the cost of the kit and if you need to buy new materials such as paint. The most costly thing is time - this took me over 20 hours to make.
Those "switches" in the back is an ashtray and lighter Here in the US we call the engine cover a "hood" Also, the mirrors are st that way bc the drivers seat isnt centered to the steering column. The engine keyhole is on the left, when most cars have them on the roght or center. The rear wheels are also not centered to the rear wheel well. These arent critiques of your build but actual oddities of the real car. Im getting this is in the coupe and modelling it after Dr. Cox's '74 Carrera from scrubs.
Thanks for the information. I knew about Americans calling it the hood and whilst in the UK we usually say bonnet, that usually only refers to the front of the car I think. Not certain what term Porsche use themselves. Dr Cox was one of my favourites in Scrubs. Good luck with it.
@@BOABModelsThe 911 term for the “hood” is “deck lid”. In the US the boot is called a trunk, but since it is in the front on a 911 it is sometimes referred to as a “frunk”. Portmanteau of front + trunk.
It's a great kit! I think it took me about 10 days to build but take your time and build it at your own pace. Good luck and if you have any questions, you can ask here.
@@BOABModels Great work on the scale car, and a great taste of classical music. I think we share at least two passions! It was a feast to see the great build, with the great music in the background. Keep up the good work!
The wheels seem to be protruding from the body. I do not know if this a mistake in the kit or in the assembly. All in all a nice kit, but the 911 isn't really my cup of tea, except the early ones.
Are you going to be picking up either this or the Targa top version?
Thanks a lot for watching!
I bought this and I am almost finished it. It is the first time I have ever done anything like this and you have really helped with the parts I have struggled with. thanks.
Very glad that I could help and I hope you enjoyed your build!
Same first time model and this will be fun

Well I'm very glad it's been so helpful. I made this video not long after the kit was released new so hopefully it's helped a lot of builders.
Really like these full build videos. Revell does such an abundance of decals. I love it. Great looking build. Really should consider getting a few more Revell kits....

Many thanks Richard - yeah, Revell are really making some top quality kits these days.
Thanks for the video of your great build! The RHS mirror is moved rearward so it doesn't get obstructed by the A pilar.
You're welcome - thanks for watching.
Also thanks for the info!
Looks great Thomas!
Many thanks, Tim
Nice work Thomas, man you are like a one man model building machine pushing out so many models
Haha! 😅 I've been busy, that's for sure. Thanks a lot!
It looks like this is another well engineered Revell kit. Nice build, and thanks for sharing.
Many thanks, Michael. It definitely is!
Very nice build. I have mine painted in Tweety Yellow and put some BBS wheels under it. Was a nice kit to build,no hussle or stress
Many thanks. Yellow with those wheels sounds an excellent combo.
I've recently purchased the MONOGRAM slant/cab 911 and am looking forward to the build.
Nice! Is that the flat nose version?
@@BOABModels yes, found it on eBay cheap

Fun build. Thank you for sharing, good video, even the music is very relaxing and pleasant, once of the reasons I enjoy this hobby.

I love this era of 911 too. I may pick up the targa sometime - good luck with yours.
I'm actually building this kit right now. I had picked silver as the body color before I saw your video. Looks great !
Thanks very much. I loved this kit and I hope you are enjoying it.
the 911 looks great Thomas
Cheers, Justin 👍😁
Awesome work! Very tempted to get one. I’m currently working on a Revell 1/16 356. The body work needs so much attention. The rest of the kit is almost perfect.
Many thanks Ben. I should try a larger scale kit some time myself.
Very nice Thomas! I may get the targa top as I have several 911’s!
Many thanks, Roland. I've only ever made two Porsches but I enjoyed this one a lot.
Im painting mine metal flake blue. Fun kit.
That’s a great build video. I think I know what I’m going to be coming with from my next visit to my local model shop.
Many thanks Tony. I hope you enjoy it!

I totally agree with the door handles - the Focus I made had moulded ones and it just looked strange.
Nice build! Luckily they fixed the sink mark issue with the American release.
Oh very good - also I noticed yours is moulded in white - I wonder if it's made in a different factory?
Very nice build, perfect colour choice for the body
Many thanks, Chris.
Nice build congratulations 👍
Thanks a lot, Alex.
Nicely done
Thank you!
Enjoyed this video, I've just ordered the Targa, looking forward to getting stuck into it.
Cheers, Gaz. I really like the look of the targa - best of luck with it!
Another great video 🤛🏻👍

I'm still on the fence. Yours Does look Great!!! Nice Work!!! Thanks for sharing

Got this kit day came out nice kit
Thanks Keith. I enjoyed it.

Looks like I'm gonna have to make the Desicion when I get to the "Dealership" Hobby Shop} (lol)
Haha! Make the right decision, Shaun!

Is that Rachmaninof as background music????? GREAT
Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini, indeed by Rachmaninof!
Indeed it is! I almost always put some of my favourite classical pieces on my videos.

What is The name of The driller you have ?
I think it's called a pin vice. I can't remember where I bought it from, sorry
Suspect those rear seat switches are actually ashtrays. 😉
😅 Considering the age of the car, you're probably right.
@@BOABModelsThey actually are not switches at all but rather slots where the seat belts emerge from.
i bought my model from germany on a trip and now when im in my country i cant find the colours or nothing for it :(
Ah sorry to hear that. Try downloading an app like Hobby Colour Converter - it should be able to find paints in other brands which are similar.
👍
Thank you

All in all a nice kit, but the 911 isn't really my cup of tea, except the early ones.
Seems OK to me but someone else said they think these wheels are too large for the kit.
Really a well built model, although I don't like this ugly color combination of rust brown interior and silver flake exterior...
The colour combination is actually based on the Ferry Porsche special edition from 1982.
