Rest in peace Norman. Man Utd fan here of 50 years. My first two games were Utd v Stoke at Old Trafford, and Wolves v Leeds in November 1970, Courtesy of my late Father. Leeds won 3-2. Moving from the North West to the South West in later years, Dad and I saw Norman play for and keep Bristol City in the old Division One. Very popular character, off the field!
A school boy hero of mine along with a fantastic Don Revie Leeds team. Great player saw him giveing after dinner speech at Royton golf club fantastic footie tales battering with Asa Hartford at Hampden Park . Great chap fantastic to meet a true Leeds legend RIP. CHRIS .

Birmingham supporter, and was sad to hear the news Big Norm had passed who was a total legend. Absolute gent off the field, hard as nails but man could he play too. RIP.
We have lost a true legend in Norman Hunter, a great footballer and a great guy he will be sorely missed by all Leeds fans and fans from other clubs as well who recognise a quality player.RIP Norman you were the best God Bless You ⚽️⚽️

Great footballer extremely nice guy rip glad I had the chance to meet him rip !
Sorry for all Leeds fans for your sad loss I am a man united fan but I know Norman was Leeds 100% he used to frighten the shit out of us! those were the days God bless you Mr Norman Hunter.
ITS great to see all true football fans giving this man your honest and true thoughts he would have loved seeing them thanks to you all football lives on and so do all our legends of this great game S.E Perth WA
Very Sad another legend ⚽️ legend has passed away Norman Hunter great footballer, great left foot, and always gave 100% on the pitch. I will always remember the FA Cup final and the Banner someone made said "Norman Hunter Bites Your Legs" and Norman Scott Bites Your Pillow" 🤣😂😆 still makes me chuckle 😆 R.I.P Norman 👍
Chelsea and Leeds fans are both so sad at the loss of our true legends. The CAT and Norman HUNTER.!!! Will be sorely missed. Us true fans grew up with these icons and we will never forget them or those heady days.!! Today's players are woosies that can't hold a candle to our famous Legends.
Nick Martin yes I think I remember that and it could have been on his right foot too. I think about him being a hard man in defence and I doubt some of his tackles would be allowed these days. He used to go in with both feet. But he had great skills and if it wasn’t for Bobby Moore he may well could have earned more caps for England.
R.I.P. Norman from a Derby County fan and child of the 60's. I still remember you and Franny Lee going at it down the tunnel and into The News of the World headlines the following day when football was all that mattered and you guys wore your hearts on your sleeves and played for the fans, not the agents, WAGs and accountants. Glad you and Franny ended up the best of friends.🍻 With sincere respect and heartfelt thanks...😢
I had the privilege of watching Norman play at Bristol City. He was a fantastic professional with a great deal more to him than his reputation suggested. He was a really nice bloke too. RIP big man
norman was a legend and a great club man saw him live Celtic Leeds 1970 semi final and Scotland England 1972 he typified British football of that era honest hard and skilful

First match: December, 1962 beat Hull City 5/1 and been downhill ever since :) Between 1963-1993 until The Old Den closed I missed 6 Home games. Gradually lost interest as I was used to the freedom to stand and move around and passion of that Stadium and hated sitting down in one place at The New Den. Now only go as a "Glory Hunter " which sounds a contradiction in terms for a Millwall fan though we have been to Wembley 4 or 5 times in the last 10 years. Went to 82 Away grounds including Leeds when we won 2/1 on 6/4/88 in our Promotion year to The Promised Land after 103 years. Stayed at Holmfirth....:)
I joined the club in 1970 on the ground staff.Norman was the first "big star" to speak to me as we jogged round Elland Road recovering from injury.Still sticks in my mind after all these years. What a man
You'd laugh... I was in a pub in Cleckheaton (1970's) and Norman and Alan Clarke walked in and ordered 2 pints of tetley bitter. I was a bit gob smacked that my hero's drank common-man's bitter lol. Like a star struck vamp, I said hello Norman, Alan. They both nodded and smiled. I told that tale a thousand times and here I am nearly 50 years later telling it again lol. R.I.P. Norman
The Leeds United worldwide fanbase we know today was established due to that great Revie team and Norman Hunter played a massive part. A true legend of the 'Super Leeds' era. RIP.
1 of the most genuine players I've ever watched ! He was total class and he was a very hard player but 4 that he gave and took without complaint ! Leeds united at that time were exceptional 1 of the best sides I've ever seen ! Sad 2 see Norman gan the journey but he will be fondly remembered ! RIP Norman hunter !

Thank you all for the respect you have written and shown for Norman and his family. RIP Norman, you left us all with great memories and that's why you are a legend! Reidy
I first saw Norman Hunter play in October 1965 when my mate and I were invited to spend a weekend in Leeds with a lovely couple we met on holiday in Rimini, the weekend to take in the match between Leeds and the mighty Cobblers. The Cobbs were winning 1-0 but Leeds went on to knock in the odd six goals but the weekend was fantastic. We witnessed the best Chinese meal I have ever tasted as well as witnessing the best central defender I have ever seen (and would ever see) in Norman. One thing that amazed me was his coolness and his distribution. not common for a central defender in those days. I saw Leeds many times over the Revie era and Norman was always superb. Very, very sad today.
