- After announcing that I was probably not going to work on my indie game anymore, I read through a lot of your comments that eventually convinced me not to cancel my indie game. I already made a community post about this before, but I'm pretty sure most people haven't seen that, so today I'm just going to be showcasing the game so far, talking about future plans with the channel, and doing some Q&A.

Why don’t you add a name for the character, so when you make a single player platformer, the character feels more like a mascot, then a template. I would suggest something simple, like “Poly”. Also I have a few ideas for stages and costumes.
Stages: Pirate Stage, Space Stage, Farm Stage, House Stage where everyone is tiny and has to get across the giant furniture, City Stage, Medieval Stage, Winter Stage.
Costumes: Pirate, Astronaut, Farmer, Business man, Knight, Santa, Construction Worker, Princess.
Anyways, those are all of my ideas.

I'd recommend using an exponential function with a y-axis limit on the characters walk speed vector and running animation play speed. That will give it a slow acceleration and high top speed making is not look so stiff! :D I recommend using this for every platforming character you make :) Either way, keep at it Cody! We're all here for the journey!

@ umm, you just need a better PC mate. Unity games still run on Windows 7, but only on the 64-bit version. You probably have 32-bit Windows. Also, at bare minimum you need 4gb of RAM to do basically anything now. 2gb of RAM was good in 2004. Finally, pretty much any game like this will require some kind of graphics card made within the last decade. Lowering the game quality settings will only get you so far.

I am thankful that you continue making this game. In the way if it wasn't for you, Dani, and many other game developers on TH-cam I some ways I wouldn't be as aspired to start Unity. I remember watching your first video on your game and I thought it was really COOL! and for forgot what people say about your game saying it's a Fall Guys clone. I know you had no idea fall guys would being developed by the time you were making your game. Even though I been using Unity for around 3 month but I just wanted to say Thank you for you and all the others game developers on TH-cam. Can't wait to play your game when it comes out! :)

Trying to help with some ideas ;)
Character names: Polyguy and Polygirl.
Maybe you can add a slide bar under each character, so people can decide their own color. (Unless you want these 4 for commercial purposes)
Maybe some items with range, maybe that ball, kinda like a shell in Mariokart: They search their opponent and lock-on, bouncing their way to them.
With these items you might wanna make some arena's and have some sort of battle option, similar to balloon battle.
Some power ups have icons like shoes, but you wanna make your characters customisable. I suggest keeping the items clothe free, so instead of shoes with wings, give actual wings. Shoes with rockets, just give a rocket. Keep it simple.
Not a serious request, but what do you think of this name?

I really like the concept of this game and the gameplay looks really fun! I'm also working on my first game which is a basic 3d platformer. I also love the low poly art style.
rocket boots should be a straight boost, but if you hit someone it'll knock them far away. Mixing powerups tends to make the 2 items that are mixed irrelevant unless the mix has its own weaknesses.
additionally, i can see people using that as a midair dash for clutch wins

Just wanted to say I'm glad you decided to keep working on your game. Not just because we the community want you to, but because you want to follow through on something you committed over a YEAR to. Your game seems like a whole new genre of party games. It's like an obstacle course version of Mario Kart, or like multiplayer Crash Bandicoot, or a competitive Mario platformer. But that's besides the point. People will always try to compare video games to find a sense of similarity. Like how people said Cuphead had the difficulty of Dark Souls, they're completely different games. Love the content and keep up the great work. Can't wait to play this thing when it's released. Congrats on making it over the hurdle.

That horn power up that you said would be similar to the one in mario kart, I think it would be cool if your character makes some sort of noise that causes that push back effect causing the players around you to ultimately slow down/get knocked back. and then once the time runs out, your character throws it back and causes a small explosion. stuff like this is pretty exciting, glad to see you're continuing it.

fun tip: maybe a loading screen would be nice, maybe it could tell you a tip like, "power-ups can help you in racing"

Thanks for streaming. I enjoyed it. The UI and systems look well-implemented. My games are usually the opposite: meager code with a bigger focus on level design and art. For the other game you mentioned, the singleplayer one, was that idea just something you thought of after canceling your game? or do you think you'll follow through with it?
I thought of both games pretty much at the same time, but I wanted to make the multiplayer game first. After I thought I was going to cancel it I feel back on the other idea, but it looks like I won't have to for now.

I used to have dark theme but my Unity pro trial ended so I was kicked back into a light theme. I know I can get it back if I update Unity to a new version, but idk how that will affect the game files

I just found ur channel, and to be honest, I'm pretty impressed by it. Kind of reminds me when I first found Dani on TH-cam. Anyways, I hope u don't cancel this project. The concept sounds pretty fun. As I love 3D platformer, I think competing with each other is always what I wanted. The movement looks pretty solid, it may need some adjustments and more movement options, but from what I currently see is already better than a lot of games. I think the focus should be on level designs, and also item designs. I know it is just a demo level, but the last part where u have to wait for one of the two moving platforms to come is kind of slowing down the game's pace. When designing a new level this maybe a consideration. Also, the items look fun and all but I think it could deep deeper. Stats change can make differences, but for example the wing boots u said didn't sound quite exciting for players. True it might be a good item but items like shock waves seems more of a game changer. Anyways, I see the potential of the game. Looking forward to your development!

I know he decide to now resume the project but I was saying the fact that he actually even cancelled the project in the first place was stupid since it was a masterpiece. Happy you didn't cancel your game also I just subbed to support yeah. Any time something is hard in development or in general don't give up just take a break and return back. I'm trying to be an Indie dev my self I have messed up a lot and I kind of regret canceling my games well anyways I can just remake them in the future. Your game looks dope!

What if the wing boots let you walk a few steps in air like in Ocarina of time? Making it possible to access slight shortcuts. That could differentiate it from the rocket boots
Also the rocket could work similar to Tank Trouble 2 where it follows the nearest person, so you could throw it off to someone else.

Honestly instead of have the standard kart game “continue to race” thing, having the characters fly off like that is great, especially if you add like somekinda flailing animation.
Edit: also have the reset thing bring up a yes or not vote for all players to avoid some salty bastard restarting mid race.

Power-up idea: a gun that lasts for a little bit. It fires mini heat seeking rockets that follow players for 2 seconds then stop seeking. If a player gets hit by these (if you implement a health system) deals half a heart. If you don’t plan on implementing health then it stuns the player that got hit by it.
