I own the very First Sneaky Pete. And it was made by Jim McDermott and Jim and I came up with the name. "Sneaky Pete" The cue is now 50 years old and still perfectly straight. About 10 to 15 years later, I showed the cue to David Kikel who was living in Colorado Springs and starting to make high quality cues. He made an exact copy of the cue and I still own David Kikel very first Sneaky Pete cue. My name is Richard Beals from Indianapolis been living in Colorado since 1975. In 1971 shortly after the Dayton, Ohio 9 Ball National Championship, I took Tom Spencer from Chicago and Tommy used the cue as a "Hustler" stick on the road to California. We played Keith McCready when I think he was 17 and beat him out of 600 dollars. The road was much safer then, but still a dangerous occupation. Back in the day, way back, guys thought a guy with a fancy expensive cue must be a good player. Guy with a cheap looking cue, or a Sneaky Pete must be a scrub. Why else would he be using a cheap cue? Sneaky Pete's were pretty much a 2 piece house cue by appearance. No logos, metal joints, nothing. This was all pre Internet days when a road player could roll into town and no one knew who they were. The Sneaky Pete cue was all about the hustle set up. Anyone who has been around pool knows expensive pool cues won't make anyone a better player.
I owned a Hubler Sneaky Pete back in the 80's and 90's. Hit better than any other Hubler cue. It was my go-to cue for bar box play. I wish I still owned it. But I believe it saved my partner's and my tail in a bar fight in the late 90s. Breaking it over the disgruntled opposing player gave us enough time to get out the door and in our car.
I just use the House Cues. Most of the ones i've played with are 2 piece. But the difference is staggering. They're usually warped, bad tips... from years of abuse, but still completely playable for a player that is decent. I don't even bring mine anymore, cause i can't be bothered. I love playing, but only a few games a night, so i'm not gonna break my stick out for a few fun games.

Used to have Meucci sneaky Pete that looked exactly like a bar cue. Zero markings! Only knew it was a Meucci because my buddy bought it new. Was a real nice shooter too!
I collect broken Dufferins from bars and poolhalls. After a 3/8-10 joint with a good shaft and LePro, they play great. Often I don't even sand out all the nicks and scars before refinishing If you have to bust it over someone or "use the restroom" and leave it on the table to avoid a bad situation, it's not a big loss.
I have half a dozen Predator SP cues. My fav is an early no wrap 8-point in red/orange. I also have a few nameless cues dating back to mid 20th century built in the tradition. My first upscale cue was a Viking SP. It changed my world. None of these cues fool anyone, as you say, but they do get the attention of real pool players. I have pretty cues, too (Viking Q1, Predator 314-5, etc.) but I always seem to go back to the SP after a while. They have a certain cool factor about them that is just fun. And fun is what it is all about for me.
I'm just getting back into the game after decades of not playing. I just got a Cuetec Sneaky Pete. I was well aware of the story concerning this cue. I simply decided to get this particular cue because of the classic design. I don't care for all the colors and graphics that are offered on today's cues. I also added a Summitt LD Shaft. My current cue is less a sneaky peat, and more custom low - mid dollar cue. I took a $150 Griffin and I have added a $400(on sale) low deflection carbon fiber shaft to. So, I got the relatively inexpensive but pretty butt, with the high functionality shaft. I will say as a fairly new player, since adding the LD shaft; my accuracy has significantly improved. The small tip (11.76mm) allows me to see where I am hitting the ball much more easily and gives me more control. (I love the channel btw I have learned a lot from your content) - APA-3 soon to be a 4
I have a Predator Sneaky Pete Z2 11.75. Had it for over twenty years, and just changed the Z2 shaft with a Revo 11.8. The Revo improved my game right away and it looks good on the Sneaky Pete butt. Certainly not going to fool anyone.
I bought a Sneaky Pete back in about '87. It was my first nice cue. It was an Adam's and it was colored correctly and had a wood to wood joint. It actually looked like a one-piece, just a lot nicer. One of the best hitting cues I ever owned. Wish I hadn't sold it...
Mine got stolen and it was a sweet cue. Won it in contest in some dive pool hall. I remember being pissed that didn't win the McDermott. Which I bought/won later that night. I offered him $50 plus what he owed me after beating him post tournament...I liked the Adams better.
Have one someone took a house cue and put a joint in. The bad thing is if you turn your back for one minute people will take it and start playing with it.
I have a predator 4pt rosewood SP NW that I love. I just ordered a predator 4 SP classic with wrap. I have a cuetec 6pt KF SP grey. I like SP’s, but I have many cues in my collection. My oldest cue is a handmade ‘73 helmstetter. My oldest predator is a 4K-7 that I have been using for many years. Still looks and shoots like new with a 314-1 shaft. Keep up the great videos B! ❤
Back in 2000 I bought my first *good* cue; it's a McDermott with a maple forearm and bubinga grip (no wrap) from a pro shop. There are no points or other gingerbread on the cue and it was about $100 with a soft case. This cue shoots amazingly well for what it is. I've replaced the tip a few times, but it's still arrow straight and hits solidly. Like some tattoo folks proclaim, "no regerts."
I just ordered a cheap Vector Sneaky Pete. It will be my first cue but I think I’m going to order a Cuetec AVID as well in the near future. They seem to be great bang for the buck

I’m rocking a Lucasi custom sneaky Pete and completely love it! Just got the slim shaft that has a little bit of a collar so it won’t be so sneaky but love the look!
I really like the look of the Lucasi sneaky Pete. It has some nice subtle embellishments that elevate the look while staying true to the “house cue” appearance. Great choice
Back in the day the pool shark wannabes would buy house cues and have a cuesmith cut it in half and make it a two-piece. My favorite house cues were the Dufferin house cues. Some of the Dufferin cues played excellent compared to something like Valley house cues.
At one point I had a throw-away $60 2-piece off-brand Sneaky Pete I kept in my car, just in case I ended up somewhere shooting when I wasn't initially planning to. I've been contemplating getting a Players Sneaky Pete as a spare. Occasionally someone at league will show up having forgotten their cue and it's handy to have a decent quality cue that you don't mind lending someone for an evening. Not low deflection or anything but still better than most house cues as far as reliability for shooting.
I just ordered a sneaky Pete for the reasons you mentioned quality cue, with out the price. But I did pair it with a revo 12.4, so I am not trying to fool anyone, except for myself.
Even my hustler friends during senior year and into college had meucci sneeky Pete's (dated probably mid 80s if remember what they told me) and there was still a difference that even I, not knowing anything about cues back then, could tell it wasn't. They were far closer then, but still, players could tell.
I have a Merry Widow because I like the simple look of them. Regarding Sneak Pete cues, one thing to be careful of is that I have seen drunks grabbing them thinking that they are a house cue. It has ended up in more than one argument.
I personally like the aesthetics of Sneaky Petes. Sometimes cues look too busy with all the intricate inlays and exotic wraps. I like Sneaky Petes with really nice wood. The money I made the most with was with my old, two-piece, inverted joint Dufferin Sneaky Pete that I bought for $75 back in the mid 90s. This was when they were still making cues in Canada. I rarely play with it anymore, but I still have it and it's one of my most prized possessions.
I have an old Players Sneaky Pete cue that felt absolutely right to me from the moment I shot with it! It belonged to a friend of mine as an extra he had, and I bought it used for $50, 12 years ago (the new cost was only $100 at the time). It hits great and I was amazingly comfortable with it from the get go! I've beaten players with cues more that 5 times+ the price of mine (original price), and I love that fact, LOL! I also own a custom cue made by a local San Diego pool cue maker that I shoot with most of the time. But when I play league (APA) in a dive bar, I'll use my Sneaky Pete.
I Have a predator sneaky Pete that i have for about for fifteen years. Along with a predator break cue. my wife pass away recently. Ducted the pool cast off , and started back playing . I was a 5/5 in th APA , before i stopping because of work and taking care of my wife. Just got back on a APA league as 5/5 . was having trouble getting my stoke back. Agreed 100% when I bought my pro cue I bought one that had no inlay just Birdseye maple leather wrap turns out that hits better than any Cue I’ve ever had
Very timely for me! I recently played a guy in Flagstaff AZ (not my home town) and it looked like he was using a house cue. I wonone game out of four against him, but my wife was talking to his wife, and she said he used ot own a pool hall! I've ordered my own "plain cue" from McDermott. Will have it in three months or so!

I had a sneaky Pete made from a Gandy house cue. A mechanic added a joint to this house cue. I used it in dive bars and now use it as a break cue. Remind us of the original sneakey Pete's last name.
i have a lucasi butt end that looks like a house cue but i upgraded the lucasi Zero Flexpoint low deflection shaft to a jacoby ultra pro 11.75 shaft with a kamui super soft tip,it shoots with perfection
I have custom cue made to my specifications with house cue butt. I’m not trying to fool anyone but I just love the style and the amazing thing is it lasts me over thirty years and I have never fixed anything to the cue.
Even though I come from snooker, I do remember back in 1988 I had a hustler friend that used an early 80s meucci sneaky Pete. It really did look like a house cue except for the word meucci printed on it 😂. I asked him if this ever fools anyone and he said "usually not anyone that plays for money". I asked him "why get one?" And pretty much what Brian said "I like a plain cue that only cost about $200" (yeah, apparently meucci cues were still a ridiculous price even in the 80s).
I have an old McDermott M11B, It’s a nice cue. I paid $100 for it but I rarely use it. It’s just a cue that my friends can use when come over and want to play on my Diamond Table. 👍🏼👍🏼
I had Tim padgett build me a sneaky Pete to look like a cheap Kmart special. I wanted ivory ferrule with 11mm tip...he talked me into 12mm... 60 in length 18 oz. Told me price doubled with making 60 in cue to look like house cue. Np don't make look nice just cheap. So add anything at the end for extra 4 in. Looks around his garage (before he moved to arcadia) and picked out a blemish cocobolo scrap. Perfect. Also I didn't want the joint hidden. He used some sort wood at the joint which made it super strong. Couple days later I received the best shooting cue I ever owned...and the ugliest! Why so happy? After having an Adams and then a McDermott stolen. Hopefully this cue might get looked over when playing at dive bars I'd go to. Best cue I own and still have it today some 25 yrs later

i loved the dufferin housecues. but of corse there are to short. so i took 2 of them and made 1 out of them. the joint was where the break and jump cues had theirs. carried it around in a snooker cue case. played years with it until i broke it accidentally. i miss the " feel" that i had with this cue, till this day;)))
I love my old hueblers with my 314 shaft but I have a $100 players sneaky Pete that I removed 1 ounce of weight, lightly turned the shaft to a more "pro" taper and spent the $30 on a good tip... Players has a lifetime warranty against warpage so this one stays in the truck for those last minute pool adventures.... And it plays very well, I break 9 ball better with it than I do my break stick👍👍
Hi Brian baz here again I've just finished building my own cue full custom . 500 mm hardwood handle no inlays or Veneer no badge painted black. 1000 mm forearm maple , cut from a damaged peridon snooker cue 9.5mm stainless Ferrel stainless joints including 9 inch extention . Hand made red beechwood case . Looks plain until people see it in the case ( not for sale) play's brilliant
I had meucci sneaky Pete back when I was a teenager. I had no intentions on fooling anyone although it did. I had to stop several people from picking it up thinking it was a house cue. The main reason I bought it was meucci was really popular and it was the only one I could afford lol

My dad used to use a sneaky pete and he stopped using it because he would turn around and see someone shooting with his cue thinking it was a house cue says it happened more than once.
I’ve got one that my dad gave me 25 years ago and I’m guessing it’s 30-35 years old. He passed away 12 years ago and really didn’t tell me much about it. I’m hoping I can find some info on who the manufacturer was. It’s the only cue I’ve ever really played with and I love using it.
If you like a full splice cue, sneaky Pete is the way to go. I like them if they're made well. The older Predator with stainless steel joint is the one I like the best.
I really like the Florian Kohler Cuetec Avid Sneaky Pete cue but I don't think I'll be buying one I'm very happy with my Pechauer cue and don't see the reason to buy another cue unless for a back up or just to collect.

And also I purchased a good stick back in 1981 that wasn't my first stick but it was a very very good stick and it was a 18 Oz Richie Lawrence and I used to break with it and everything the tip fell off once and I have super glue and glued it back on real quick and still went about shooting I mean I had the same tip on there the whole time I use the stick

i use a custom sneaky pete cuz 1. They're cheaper but hit the same or sometimes better than a fancy, more expensive cue. 2. I dont like wrap. 3. I learned pool on house cues. 4. House cues feel too short and can also be very inconsistent. Ya hafta find that one...5. I just plain like the look and feel of a full spliced cue.
I just bought a Predator P3 sneaky Pete. It's all black, no wrap and has chrome accents near the joint and bumper. I was told that it was constructed with the same pie piece method that LD shafts are. Is this true?
I prefer Sneaky Pete cause my primary sport is snooker and i have a snooker stance with the cue under my chin and close to my body. Every cue with the wrap on it just feels for me very uncomfortable.
In reality a sneaky Pete makes you look like a pedestrian, most of the people who break out their 2 piece play league meaning they are obsessed. I play a lot of bar pool and even if I’m not gambling I want to hold the table, which saves money and gives a sense of pride. Some house cues are actually ok, but come with the big tip this why I prefer my own sneaky Pete. And no glove either…

I don't like putting a cue together in front of others because I'm not very good and get subconscious. I can see why someone would want a cue like that.
James, I think you have a mist-understanding of the word "sharking" as used in pool. Plus, a house cue at 95% of pool halls makes a MAJOR difference. Even to the best players. If it did not, then the multi million dollar cue companies would not exist. The multi million dollar cue retail business would not exist. And I would be using a $30 house cue every day. "It does not make a difference" is one of those pool expressions that some fool made up years ago and low level players bought into, so that they could have an excuse to not invest in quality cues. The only time it does not make a difference is if you are playing on a low level. This is because a quality cue in the hands of a weak player is simply a piece of wood. Like a soccer mom driving the kids to school in a Ferrari. The Definition of Sharking: Sharking is a billiards slang term that is a part of Gambling and Betting Terminology. Any one of numerous tactics which unethical players employ to rattle or upset their opponent. Talking, making noise, and chalking your cue while your opponent is shooting are all considered sharking tactics. It has nothing to do with trying to look like an unskilled player. That's something that happens in movies a thousand times more than it does in the real world.
I'm what I'd like to call an intermediately decent shooter, never had my own cue. . . Just bought about a 58" Schmelke sneaky pete cue -used, off of Ebay.. It's wood-on-wood jointed, looks like it may be the best cue in the house, but totally feels like the best stick I've ever held. 1~ was $135 a steal or what? 2~ should I break with it? I'm a hard breaker.. have seen cats use "break cues" or just a heavy house cue to break. I like a light stick, always grab the 15 or 16 if there is one in the racks.
I definitely would not break with your playing cue if I were you. Break cues are made specifically for breaking and to withstand the stress of breaking with. They have a stiffer shaft, an impact resistant ferrule and a hard tip designed for breaking. All of these attributes are specific for the task of breaking and being able to repeatedly withstand the shock of breaking. So I say do not use your playing cue to break with. Invest in a break cue, or just use a house cue that you don't care if the shaft or ferrule cracks, or if the tip gets mushroomed out and destroyed after a few breaks.
Yeah this is Carter again I'm scheduled for surgery my first time is February 7th and the second one will be about a month after that so want to want to see what's the difference is between glasses and my depth perception after the surgery but I shot pretty decent when I went to to shoot some pool last week did pretty good considering I haven't picked up a stick in a lot of years so can't wait to get a good tip on mine and start start moving that English around you know just it's in my head it's just getting the feeling of touch again I'll be I'll be a small tornado to reckon with then eventually I'll be at hurricane again I just love the game usually people would only play a few games you know they didn't like it when you want all the time well I'm I'm not shooting to lose so you know but I was always cordial and polite you know a lot of times I'd quit shooting so other people can shoot which was fine with me yeah or if I come walking in a place to help Carter's here and no sense if I was in a bar it ain't putting your quarter up and they get mad cuz I never lose a game that tells you he's not going to lose the game I said look how many quarters out there hella take me over 2 hours to get back on the table or something I'm not in here to to overrun you guys or anything else so it says I'm out of socializing the same as you are that's all it is I just called a socializing all right thanks

I've had a Meucci and a smeicke (however you spell it) sneaky pete. I sold both because I still can't get over how good my Joss n7 plays.
In my opinion it's the best all-around cue for the $$$ obviously depends on company/craftsmanship

Haven’t used sneaky Pete, but my pool equipment store guys are pretty straightforward… their recommendation is to pay for performance, not artwork.
Back in 2000 I bought my first *good* cue; it's a McDermott with a maple forearm and bubinga grip (no wrap) from a pro shop. There are no points or other gingerbread on the cue and it was about $100 with a soft case. This cue shoots amazingly well for what it is. I've replaced the tip a few times, but it's still arrow straight and hits solidly. Like some tattoo folks proclaim, "no regerts."
I used a Sneaky Pete for a long time. Eventually went to carbon fiber cues, but now use a Cuetec AVID era Sneaky Pete. Absolutely love it.
I just ordered a cheap Vector Sneaky Pete. It will be my first cue but I think I’m going to order a Cuetec AVID as well in the near future. They seem to be great bang for the buck

I’m rocking a Lucasi custom sneaky Pete and completely love it! Just got the slim shaft that has a little bit of a collar so it won’t be so sneaky but love the look!

Back in the day the pool shark wannabes would buy house cues and have a cuesmith cut it in half and make it a two-piece. My favorite house cues were the Dufferin house cues. Some of the Dufferin cues played excellent compared to something like Valley house cues.

At one point I had a throw-away $60 2-piece off-brand Sneaky Pete I kept in my car, just in case I ended up somewhere shooting when I wasn't initially planning to. I've been contemplating getting a Players Sneaky Pete as a spare. Occasionally someone at league will show up having forgotten their cue and it's handy to have a decent quality cue that you don't mind lending someone for an evening. Not low deflection or anything but still better than most house cues as far as reliability for shooting.

Even my hustler friends during senior year and into college had meucci sneeky Pete's (dated probably mid 80s if remember what they told me) and there was still a difference that even I, not knowing anything about cues back then, could tell it wasn't. They were far closer then, but still, players could tell.

Regarding Sneak Pete cues, one thing to be careful of is that I have seen drunks grabbing them thinking that they are a house cue. It has ended up in more than one argument.
I still buy Sneaky Pete's from good cue makers. One of my favorite style of cues. The woods used are important in the ones I buy.
I personally like the aesthetics of Sneaky Petes. Sometimes cues look too busy with all the intricate inlays and exotic wraps. I like Sneaky Petes with really nice wood. The money I made the most with was with my old, two-piece, inverted joint Dufferin Sneaky Pete that I bought for $75 back in the mid 90s. This was when they were still making cues in Canada. I rarely play with it anymore, but I still have it and it's one of my most prized possessions.

I have an old Players Sneaky Pete cue that felt absolutely right to me from the moment I shot with it! It belonged to a friend of mine as an extra he had, and I bought it used for $50, 12 years ago (the new cost was only $100 at the time). It hits great and I was amazingly comfortable with it from the get go! I've beaten players with cues more that 5 times+ the price of mine (original price), and I love that fact, LOL! I also own a custom cue made by a local San Diego pool cue maker that I shoot with most of the time. But when I play league (APA) in a dive bar, I'll use my Sneaky Pete.
I Have a predator sneaky Pete that i have for about for fifteen years. Along with a predator break cue. my wife pass away recently. Ducted the pool cast off , and started back playing . I was a 5/5 in th APA , before i stopping because of work and taking care of my wife. Just got back on a APA league as 5/5 . was having trouble getting my stoke back. Your videos have really helped me.
Agreed 100% when I bought my pro cue I bought one that had no inlay just Birdseye maple leather wrap turns out that hits better than any Cue I’ve ever had
Very timely for me! I recently played a guy in Flagstaff AZ (not my home town) and it looked like he was using a house cue. I wonone game out of four against him, but my wife was talking to his wife, and she said he used ot own a pool hall! I've ordered my own "plain cue" from McDermott. Will have it in three months or so!
I got one because I could stay at that $500 price range I was looking for With a quality low deflection shaft.
The cue with a standard shaft was about $330 and with the Pro P low deflection shaft it was $513 shipped.

I had a sneaky Pete made from a Gandy house cue. A mechanic added a joint to this house cue. I used it in dive bars and now use it as a break cue. Remind us of the original sneakey Pete's last name.

I have custom cue made to my specifications with house cue butt. I’m not trying to fool anyone but I just love the style and the amazing thing is it lasts me over thirty years and I have never fixed anything to the cue.
Even though I come from snooker, I do remember back in 1988 I had a hustler friend that used an early 80s meucci sneaky Pete. It really did look like a house cue except for the word meucci printed on it 😂. I asked him if this ever fools anyone and he said "usually not anyone that plays for money". I asked him "why get one?" And pretty much what Brian said "I like a plain cue that only cost about $200" (yeah, apparently meucci cues were still a ridiculous price even in the 80s).
So true, i got sneaky pete roadline, with 314, but oh boy it plays well, all though its not brand new anymore
I have an old McDermott M11B, It’s a nice cue. I paid $100 for it but I rarely use it. It’s just a cue that my friends can use when come over and want to play on my Diamond Table. 👍🏼👍🏼
I had Tim padgett build me a sneaky Pete to look like a cheap Kmart special. I wanted ivory ferrule with 11mm tip...he talked me into 12mm... 60 in length 18 oz. Told me price doubled with making 60 in cue to look like house cue. Np don't make look nice just cheap. So add anything at the end for extra 4 in. Looks around his garage (before he moved to arcadia) and picked out a blemish cocobolo scrap. Perfect. Also I didn't want the joint hidden. He used some sort wood at the joint which made it super strong. Couple days later I received the best shooting cue I ever owned...and the ugliest! Why so happy? After having an Adams and then a McDermott stolen. Hopefully this cue might get looked over when playing at dive bars I'd go to. Best cue I own and still have it today some 25 yrs later

i loved the dufferin housecues. but of corse there are to short. so i took 2 of them and made 1 out of them. the joint was where the break and jump cues had theirs. carried it around in a snooker cue case. played years with it until i broke it accidentally. i miss the " feel" that i had with this cue, till this day;)))
I love my old hueblers with my 314 shaft but I have a $100 players sneaky Pete that I removed 1 ounce of weight, lightly turned the shaft to a more "pro" taper and spent the $30 on a good tip... Players has a lifetime warranty against warpage so this one stays in the truck for those last minute pool adventures.... And it plays very well, I break 9 ball better with it than I do my break stick👍👍
Hi Brian baz here again I've just finished building my own cue full custom . 500 mm hardwood handle no inlays or Veneer no badge painted black. 1000 mm forearm maple , cut from a damaged peridon snooker cue 9.5mm stainless Ferrel stainless joints including 9 inch extention . Hand made red beechwood case . Looks plain until people see it in the case ( not for sale) play's brilliant

My dad used to use a sneaky pete and he stopped using it because he would turn around and see someone shooting with his cue thinking it was a house cue says it happened more than once.
I’ve got one that my dad gave me 25 years ago and I’m guessing it’s 30-35 years old. He passed away 12 years ago and really didn’t tell me much about it. I’m hoping I can find some info on who the manufacturer was. It’s the only cue I’ve ever really played with and I love using it.
If you like a full splice cue, sneaky Pete is the way to go. I like them if they're made well. The older Predator with stainless steel joint is the one I like the best.
I really like the Florian Kohler Cuetec Avid Sneaky Pete cue but I don't think I'll be buying one I'm very happy with my Pechauer cue and don't see the reason to buy another cue unless for a back up or just to collect.

And also I purchased a good stick back in 1981 that wasn't my first stick but it was a very very good stick and it was a 18 Oz Richie Lawrence and I used to break with it and everything the tip fell off once and I have super glue and glued it back on real quick and still went about shooting I mean I had the same tip on there the whole time I use the stick

i use a custom sneaky pete cuz 1. They're cheaper but hit the same or sometimes better than a fancy, more expensive cue. 2. I dont like wrap. 3. I learned pool on house cues. 4. House cues feel too short and can also be very inconsistent. Ya hafta find that one...5. I just plain like the look and feel of a full spliced cue.

I just bought a Predator P3 sneaky Pete. It's all black, no wrap and has chrome accents near the joint and bumper. I was told that it was constructed with the same pie piece method that LD shafts are. Is this true?
To the best of my knowledge this is true.
I prefer Sneaky Pete cause my primary sport is snooker and i have a snooker stance with the cue under my chin and close to my body. Every cue with the wrap on it just feels for me very uncomfortable.
In reality a sneaky Pete makes you look like a pedestrian, most of the people who break out their 2 piece play league meaning they are obsessed. I play a lot of bar pool and even if I’m not gambling I want to hold the table, which saves money and gives a sense of pride. Some house cues are actually ok, but come with the big tip this why I prefer my own sneaky Pete. And no glove either…
What kind of Sneeky Pete do you recommend Brian?
I like Predator and Lucasi the most. Predator might be the best, but if I was going to leave it in my car, maybe the Lucasi because it's cheaper.

if you're trying to shark someone, just use an actual house cue. If you're that good, it shouldnt make a ton of difference.
James, I think you have a mist-understanding of the word "sharking" as used in pool. Plus, a house cue at 95% of pool halls makes a MAJOR difference. Even to the best players. If it did not, then the multi million dollar cue companies would not exist. The multi million dollar cue retail business would not exist. And I would be using a $30 house cue every day.
"It does not make a difference" is one of those pool expressions that some fool made up years ago and low level players bought into, so that they could have an excuse to not invest in quality cues. The only time it does not make a difference is if you are playing on a low level. This is because a quality cue in the hands of a weak player is simply a piece of wood. Like a soccer mom driving the kids to school in a Ferrari.
The Definition of Sharking:
Sharking is a billiards slang term that is a part of Gambling and Betting Terminology.
Any one of numerous tactics which unethical players employ to rattle or upset their opponent. Talking, making noise, and chalking your cue while your opponent is shooting are all considered sharking tactics.
It has nothing to do with trying to look like an unskilled player. That's something that happens in movies a thousand times more than it does in the real world.
I'm what I'd like to call an intermediately decent shooter, never had my own cue. . . Just bought about a 58" Schmelke sneaky pete cue -used, off of Ebay.. It's wood-on-wood jointed, looks like it may be the best cue in the house, but totally feels like the best stick I've ever held. 1~ was $135 a steal or what? 2~ should I break with it? I'm a hard breaker.. have seen cats use "break cues" or just a heavy house cue to break. I like a light stick, always grab the 15 or 16 if there is one in the racks.
I definitely would not break with your playing cue if I were you. Break cues are made specifically for breaking and to withstand the stress of breaking with. They have a stiffer shaft, an impact resistant ferrule and a hard tip designed for breaking. All of these attributes are specific for the task of breaking and being able to repeatedly withstand the shock of breaking. So I say do not use your playing cue to break with. Invest in a break cue, or just use a house cue that you don't care if the shaft or ferrule cracks, or if the tip gets mushroomed out and destroyed after a few breaks.
I just look at the ferrule and tip and instantly know if it’s a house cue

Yeah this is Carter again I'm scheduled for surgery my first time is February 7th and the second one will be about a month after that so want to want to see what's the difference is between glasses and my depth perception after the surgery but I shot pretty decent when I went to to shoot some pool last week did pretty good considering I haven't picked up a stick in a lot of years so can't wait to get a good tip on mine and start start moving that English around you know just it's in my head it's just getting the feeling of touch again I'll be I'll be a small tornado to reckon with then eventually I'll be at hurricane again I just love the game usually people would only play a few games you know they didn't like it when you want all the time well I'm I'm not shooting to lose so you know but I was always cordial and polite you know a lot of times I'd quit shooting so other people can shoot which was fine with me yeah or if I come walking in a place to help Carter's here and no sense if I was in a bar it ain't putting your quarter up and they get mad cuz I never lose a game that tells you he's not going to lose the game I said look how many quarters out there hella take me over 2 hours to get back on the table or something I'm not in here to to overrun you guys or anything else so it says I'm out of socializing the same as you are that's all it is I just called a socializing all right thanks
