I adopted a 3 year old male who is totally a Buddha boy for sure. I put him in with 2 younger males who are brothers and they get on great. Been 2 weeks almost and no aggression. They are 3 happy pigs
I had to brother's that lived happily together for about 2 years until one day I heard them fighting so rushed to check on them and found them both freaked out and Pikelet was dribbling blood (from a bite on his mouth) and saliva!!! So I separated them and gave them their own space but, side by side, which seemed to do the trick because after a couple of days, I tried floor time with them and they acted as if there had never been a problem!!! But they never lived together again. Guinea pigs are so cute and adorable yet such funny fickle little things. Thank you for another great video Saskia 😊❤️🐹💖🤗♥️
Yes there is often no rhyme or reason to their likes or sudden dislikes. In my experience once a fight got bad enough where they drew blood it is best to not have them live together anymore. Side by side divided by a grid is a great option and make sure their individual living spaces are large enough. 🌻

My older guinea pig wouldn't stop attacking and humping my 1 month old guinea pig I couldn't put them in the same cage at all. When the baby was in the room both my older guinea pigs would squeak so loud it sounded like screaming.
Last Friday (April 3rd 2020) was by far the worst day of my life, after 7 years of caring for my guinea pig Speedy. We had to euthanise her, turned out she began to have brittle bones due to her age, and she took a wrong step breaking the bone at the elbow, as a result she couldn’t get around the cage to go eat, sleep or poop (yes she actually had separate for these things). She started losing a ton of weight, we tried hand feeding her but that wouldn’t work a day later we went to the vet (I personally wanted to go the day before, but couldn’t because or corona). At the vet they weighted her (just over 600 grams, instead of the healthy 1kg), her bowels were almost completely empty, turned out she had trouble swallowing her food (why we don’t know) and her body temperature was already 3 degrees Celsius below average. On top of all of this she also had something on her back which could have been a tumor. As you can see we were out of option and euthanising was the best option. She slowly passed away in my arms, giving one last barely hearable squeak. All of this happened in 2 days, before Speedy was perfectly healthy and in less than two days it was over. Her cage (we have a cage for indoors (winter) and outdoors (summer)) still stands in my room, it is scary because normally I could hear her eat or could see her sleeping (she was partially white so you could easily see her). Rest in peace speedy, you will not be forgotten, especially with the thousands (I’m not joking) of photos of you on my phone. Thanks for reading.I had to let this out, seemed like this community was the best since everyone here loves guinea pigs( unlike my parents. (They used to call speedy a “Rat”, it was only a nickname, but it still made me furious) Some advise: love your guinea pig now that you still can, it could be over the next day as it was with Speedy.
I had a male guinea pig once. Total psycho. Lived with his brother for years and out of the blue started attacking him! Had to seperate them. We had them nuitered and got them both a (baby) girlfriend. The sweet one was in heaven but the psycho started attacking her, a baby! We put him in solitary but that made him very sad so we tried again and he still attacked. In the end we made them a cage with a kind of see trough department for the mean one. He could see them, hear and smell them but couldn’t touch them. He was very sweet to me and my family though, but he just hated other guinea pigs. He died a year ago. I really miss him.

do baby guinea pigs cling and hide in the older ones? the two recent ones who passed used to do it with the older one who is still alive and now we got another baby shes doing the same I'm not sure if its cause shes getting used to her surrounding or if she thinking coco is like a mother
Hey saska the male guinea pig i have is a lethal and im trying to bond the a normal guinea pig and plus the old one try tapping him cause the oldest bit the lethal's ear
I am SOOOO hoping this happens for me this weekend. I have a 9 1/2 month old who needs a buddy. I have found a 3 week old baby that is needing a home, so I’m really hoping the age difference will make for a happy home like this. Hopefully Buckey will behave himself and be more of an adult and less the teenager since he is on the cutoff between the two! Edited three weeks later: I held off on introducing them and will most likely do it this weekend. I wanted to give the baby some time to settle into our house and my routine. I also sewed two more full sets of fleece with my mother. (Two large pads to cover the bottom of the cage and pads for underneath the corner house and the corner fringed “tent”, and what I call a pee pad. I made rectangle shaped pads to go in the space where Buckey eats hay and poops the most. It makes cleaning so much faster and keeps the small down to have several pads for each area that he poops and pees the most!
Question I saw you give the lettuce that both It’s ok to feed the baby veggies or do i have to wait ? I have 2 different food for then baby food and regular food but i not sure about the veggie at the pet shop told me no veggies only baby food and hay ???
I can't find help or content to guide me in the right direction and was hoping you saw ski could help even though I know this video is a bit older. I've had a long hair silky male who has been pretty much by himself other than with the family that adopted him before us and they'd previously got him from a pet store. We have a little baby boy we just adopted and after a few of the meetings introductions they're both in the same space but the baby is still very terrified won't even look at me won't take food for my hand but does eat and the older pig has relocated himself sitting in front of the water bottle on the other side of the cage which is very strange and I know that the older guinea pig absolutely loves the little one was also jealous and I noticed a lot of lot of licking on the baby's face he looks a lot and then always wants to crawl in and be in his way or in his food. It's been a few days now they both just sit on opposite sides of their home. The little one at first gave our big boy a run for his money and was humping and chasing and still does a bit. What can I don't to help little Gizmo adapt not be gone and sibling sick and terrified of me.I mean if I look in his direction across the room he turns his head into his blanket Also if my older jellybean pig maybe garden or taking food from the little one and going hungry maybe. But also another curiosity is the little Gizmo seems completely silent.Only in the beginning I heard the baby tiny rumble and tiny squeaks.
Hi i Got My 1st Guinea Pig Back in April of 2022 And Today July 17th 2022 And They Are Both Female And My 1st Guinea Pig is So Sweet And She’s Not Dominant And Eventually Should i Put Them Together I Have A Big Cage
I've introduced two boys who were around the same age, teenagers/adults, and they are living happily together. I just found that I had to match up two that had similar personalities.
Hi. I got a baby girl but I´m worried. My 3 yr old guinea pigs seem too aggressive. Especially one of them, it looks like she bites her or hits her with her head especially when cornered. But I haven't seen a wound, I separate them when this happens. baby girl seems scared, always runs away from them. I dont know what to do.
I’m about to pair my older male (4 years) with a 6 week old male... is it likely that when the younger male hits the teenage phase could they fall out? Hopefully the bond sticks!
It depends on space etc for me it went fine but I reccomend multi entrance hides so they cant trap each other excersize and just dont separate unless blood is drawn as people tend to separate too quick
I have a juvenile skinny pig about 5mos old and just brought home a 5 week old Abyssinian guinea pig yesterday for a cage mate. I haven't had any aggression towards the little guy but he continually makes that noise that spencer makes towards the baby is that normal?

They just randomly started fighting and now I have them in separate cages...😔😔😔 so yeah my recommendation is if your 4 year old piggie has been alone this whole time don’t get him a friend, she’s already use to be on her own.
@@lizzg94 I know that's the case for male guinea pigs, I might get lucky with girls (?
@@lizzg94 Btw tysm for answering 🥺
@@MeliRusher I’m not sure how girls are... give it a try for a week to see how well they get along, and no problem hun 😊
do baby guinea pigs cling and hide in the older ones? the two recent ones who passed used to do it with the older one who is still alive and now we got another baby shes doing the same I'm not sure if its cause shes getting used to her surrounding or if she thinking coco is like a mother
I have 3 Guinea pigs
Hey saska the male guinea pig i have is a lethal and im trying to bond the a normal guinea pig and plus the old one try tapping him cause the oldest bit the lethal's ear
Thank you. What age difference will the old guinea pig need to be for this works well?
the age of the older boy doesnt matter at all. Any age really
Thank you, this was very helpful.
I will have to do this very soon...I will need to quarantine the new baby before introducing them right?
Are baby boy brothers always a good match?
I learned my lesson after trying to bond my Zeus with an adult male. He got pretty aggressive. The other was a lot older than he was.
When introducing a baby guinea pig to an adult and the adult humps, is there a chance that it could hurt the baby accidentally?
I have not seen that happen yet
What's the aggresive behaviour like?
Circling and teeth chattering
Hello, I hope you see this. I have a 4 month old and 8 week old males and would like to introduce them. Any other advice?
Question
I saw you give the lettuce that both
It’s ok to feed the baby veggies or do i have to wait ?
I have 2 different food for then baby food and regular food but i not sure about the veggie at the pet shop told me no veggies only baby food and hay ???
The babies can eat the exact same food the adults can and yes babies should eat greens from day 1
Why do guinea pigs rumble strut?
Is it safe
How old are the bigger pigs in these videos?
I think about 7 months
My question is can you do a introduction for two males that are roughly the same age? Or does it only have to be a baby and an adult?
