That has to be my favorite portrayal of spider sense so far. From the entire black hallway to him closing his eyes and just focusing it was gorgeous to watch.
In other movies it's pretty inconsistent but I like how they basically establish that it is a thing and Peter is aware of it, he just hadn't really used it to the best of his ability until now.
The affects were badass. But it would of been better having mysterio just him and no one else. I found having a huge group wasn’t intimidating as much if it was just Mysterio.
What Mysterio's ilusions did was what I was expecting Thanos to do with the Reality stone. Marvel really under estimated the power of the reality stone.

They call him Nick at the the very beginning. They made a massive point in captain marvel that no one calls him Nick. Was literally shown in the first scene.
They wrote Quinten Beck so well. Everyone knew Beck was "secretly" the bad guy but I haven't heard anyone guess how he does it. The twists and turns were insane.
Yeah I was sat through the whole movie waiting for it. Part of the beauty is that you don't know when it's gonna come, or for what reason, or if he starts out being the good guy and something makes him turn bad.

Vulture was motivated by being screwed out of his job by the Shield clean-up crew when he's already been contracted to clean up the city, which obviously cost him and his team quite a lot of money with no compensation. Mysterio was motivated by never being treated seriously and the desire to be loved as a superhero.
Tenacious Dean in Homecoming vulture is upset because he lost the job to the Damage Control crew. Damage Control tells him to take up his grievances with their superiors. Then the screen cuts to vulture watching the news and finding out that the company that stole his job is partnered with Stark Industries. The 3rd act of the movie is based on a preventing a heist aimed at Tony Stark. Spider-Man just happens to be the one to stop vulture since Tony is busy.
Anyone who knew Quentin Beck's 'special effect' comic backstory would've loved the twist, but the updated MoCap angle really sold it to me. Elevated a gimmick punchbag villain to someone formidable. And if you think about it his fantasy backstory is superhero writing 101, from his *dead wife/child/pet dog* to *last of his kind* to the eventual *heroic' sacrifice* which wasn't even dangerous.... all in order to take EDITH from Peter and become famous.
but why exactly? Talos and them were friends in the end no? She went of with them.. Did they get into conflict later? Do they hate each other now? Did other stuff happen? "Dont' invoke her name" given like that is quite an angry or fearful tone.. but why the change?
That's not the only hint either, I can't remember which scene it is, but there is a scene where it cuts to Fury and Hill and "Fury"'s talking about something to do with Kree cells for like 2 seconds before "Hill" cuts him off over something else
It was cool. But for me, his greatest character moment was when he caught Mysterio's hand which wanted to kill him, and said he'll never trick him again. :) He was so badass, confident, determined, but also hurt at the same time.

I don't know why, but that whole illusion scene to me felt like one of the most comic book moments in any comic book movie. I could so imagine this scene in a comic book where he flies from room to different room and it would be from panel to panel. Great scene.

Had the writers been clever enough and had Mysterio somehow found out some or Perter's backstory, it might have been a clever way to bring in uncle Ben without the who history of the "Great power, great responsibility" part which we had seen done so many times before. But given the pace of the story, I am fine with what we got. But that Tony skeleton head even at this age got to me and I was like "We only just lost the guy a few weeks ago. Come on."
Pretty ironic how you saw one the most "comic book moments" in a movie that have completely ignored all of those comic books by reducing the presence of the most important person in Peter's life, Uncle Ben. But go on.

the part that raised my eyebrow was when Maria Hill told Happy that Nick Fury didnt have any suspicion about Quentin Beck and Fury didnt give her the death stare. i was thinking no one has the guts to say such to Fury and not be verbally torn to shreds and also Maria Hill and Fury are like buddies now???? then it made sense after the credits....
One of my absolute favorite parts was when he fixes his "Peter Tingle" and rushes Mysterio in the hallway fighting the drones. That really felt like a Spiderman fight sequence.
@@bryanlanda I know I'm the third person to inform you but yeah his eyes were closed. He got fully intune with this spider sense and just went with the flow, reacting exactly how it wanted him to. It was for sure the most spiderman thing in the whole movie.
The “dream” sequence when Mysterio is using illusions to try to kill peter is honestly one of the best scenes in the entire MCU. It matches the scene in Homecoming when The vulture gives Peter the “dad talk” Edit: Thanks for all the likes!!! Holy cow!!

After watching the end credits, I realized why "Fury" said "Don't invoke her name" when Peter asked about Captain Marvel. They were skrulls the whole time.
There are other little things that hint at the reveal in hindsight. Hill Calls Fury Nicholas. And when Fury is introducing Beck to Peter he says Beck isn't from "your Earth" instead of "our Earth."
Mysterio is hands down one the greatest MCU villains and he was so perfectly done and so comic accurate! All I can say to those end credits scenes is holy freaking crap, what the freaking hell!!!!!!?????? JK Simmons coming back as J Jonah Jameson is so amazing.

@@MrRebel247 He's always wanted to keep his identity secret so he can protect his friends and family, but I guess other heroes have been able to keep their family relatively safe so that might not be the biggest issue, so in this case the main problem is that Peter won't be able to have a normal teenage life again. I doubt he'll ever be able to go to school again, and him and Aunt May will probably be forced to live in the Avengers facility or some other safe house.
I laughed when Beck was all angrily like "Stark took credit for my tech... and he named it *barf*" like in my head for a second, it was the barf part that got to him and not the stealing. Like go ahead Stark take credit, just give it a cool name.
*After watching Spider-Man: Far From Home again, I doubt Mysterio is dead.* Mysterio's death was most likely an illusion. MCU has something of a reputation for fake deaths, & in Mysterio's case he's a master of illusion. The script attempts to encourage viewers it's real, with Spider-Man asking EDITH if he's is really dead. EDITH assures him that it's not an illusion. However, Mysterio has a lot of experience with Stark tech as he's been working with Stark Industries drones for years & has a good idea what they're capable of & had time to experiment with EDITH's drones as well. Mysterio will be very familiar with the advanced sensor suite EDITH has access to & it's not unlikely that he figured out how to fool this tech. Even EDITH isn't a reliable witness & it's entirely possible Mysterio faked his death. In the mid-credits scene of Mysterio giving Spider-Man's identity to the public could be the first step of his plan, which would surely see him "resurrected" to the delight of an adoring public. Besides, MCU clearly has a Sinister Six idea in mind as they had Vulture meeting Scorpion at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
My theory is that the entire end battle where mysterio tries to seem like a hero, was actually just for spiderman, the entire purpose was to frame spiderman with him taking edith and spiderman thinking he is dead. I mean did he really think that train would kill spiderman, spidey is famous and people know what he has survived before.
Cole Eckerman good theory. I also think that when Parker asked EDITH if he was dead, Mysterio had EDITH trick Parker by only saying it’s not an illusion but not saying that he’s dead.
They went no where with it though. There should have been something similar for the end fight between Spider-Man and Mysterio. It should have been a HELL of a lot more challenging for Spider-Man. Should have been a good mix of that wow cinematic factor and good action and tension. But no, the fight is over in 2 seconds because Peter’s Spider Sense wants to work 100% conveniently just because Peter thinks real hard for a moment. That was really lazy on the writers and producers part.
Funny thing is, JJJ was meant to be an exaggerated parody of attention-hungry, scaremongering journalists, but compared to what kinds of "journalists" we have now, he'd be seen as about a moderate-level wackjob if he were real.
There's also the potential setup of the Sinister Six if Beck is still alive, plus Scorpion, Shocker, Vulture, get two more guys and Sony can complete the prophecy.

I watched the movie with my co-workers that are unfamiliar with the comics and the lore in general. They were legitimately surprised that Mysterio was the villain. Also I love how Jake Gyllenhaal had terrible acting as Mysterio before the reveal.
The working man idea really spoke to me. I didn't really think of it like that. I guess with marvel its always something fantastical but youre absolutely right. They are regular people who do not so regular things to get even.

I really liked the fight sequences between Spiderman vs Mysterio...they were so trippy and felt exactly how they would be if a comic book panel came to life.
I absolutely loved this movie. I felt like some of the one liners from the trailers were delivered better in the trailer than the ones used in the movie, but in the end the movie was so phenomenal it didn’t even really matter
Yeah I think the audience’s backlash against Brie Larson as the new face of the mcu wasn’t sitting well. I hope they continue with Spider-Man as the face of the mcu until a better character and person can take over.

The concept of "Mysterio" is not dead. I'm not sure if Quentin Beck is dead, but you see the assistant download all the files and escape, which means that "Mysterio" could still be in the Sinister Six if that occurs. Both Vulture and Mysterio are still alive, so I think they're setting up the Sinister Six
The director and producers said they just want to do new things with these movies so I don't think they're doing the Sinister Six since a version of them was already done in the PS4 game and Spider-Verse.

Although there may never be a day where a Spider-Man film comes along that overthrows the first two Sam Raimi films as my favourite Spider-Man movies of all time, but I am very glad to say that we live in an age where Spider-Man is back on top of the world. I loved this movie! There was one point in the movie where Nick Fury adjusts his eye patch and I thought that had to be the actor adjusting it and the people in editing missing that, because I didn't think Nick Fury would adjust the eye patch... for some reason. Then the end credit scene happens and that adjustment made sense. it wasn't a mistake. It was a hint at the truth. Mysterio was a great choice of villain and they did the character justice!
I wish you mentioned how dark the movie got when Mysterio used his illusions to get info out of Peter before making him back in front of a train. My heart dropped and I was at the edge of my seat when that happened. Also when he tried to shoot Peter in the head.

I think it's also to do with the fact though that he just wants to live a normal life. A lot of this movie was based around the idea that Peter just wants to have a normal summer. If he was bothered about fame and money, he would have revealed himself in Homecoming at the party.

I don't know why, but that whole illusion scene to me felt like one of the most comic book moments in any comic book movie. I could so imagine this scene in a comic book where he flies from room to different room and it would be from panel to panel. Great scene.

Had the writers been clever enough and had Mysterio somehow found out some or Perter's backstory, it might have been a clever way to bring in uncle Ben without the who history of the "Great power, great responsibility" part which we had seen done so many times before. But given the pace of the story, I am fine with what we got. But that Tony skeleton head even at this age got to me and I was like "We only just lost the guy a few weeks ago. Come on."
Pretty ironic how you saw one the most "comic book moments" in a movie that have completely ignored all of those comic books by reducing the presence of the most important person in Peter's life, Uncle Ben. But go on.

the part that raised my eyebrow was when Maria Hill told Happy that Nick Fury didnt have any suspicion about Quentin Beck and Fury didnt give her the death stare. i was thinking no one has the guts to say such to Fury and not be verbally torn to shreds and also Maria Hill and Fury are like buddies now???? then it made sense after the credits....
One of my absolute favorite parts was when he fixes his "Peter Tingle" and rushes Mysterio in the hallway fighting the drones. That really felt like a Spiderman fight sequence.
Totally reminded me of daredevil...almost like a hallway scene. Loved it

@@bryanlanda I know I'm the third person to inform you but yeah his eyes were closed. He got fully intune with this spider sense and just went with the flow, reacting exactly how it wanted him to. It was for sure the most spiderman thing in the whole movie.

The “dream” sequence when Mysterio is using illusions to try to kill peter is honestly one of the best scenes in the entire MCU. It matches the scene in Homecoming when The vulture gives Peter the “dad talk”

There are other little things that hint at the reveal in hindsight. Hill Calls Fury Nicholas. And when Fury is introducing Beck to Peter he says Beck isn't from "your Earth" instead of "our Earth."

@@MrRebel247 He's always wanted to keep his identity secret so he can protect his friends and family, but I guess other heroes have been able to keep their family relatively safe so that might not be the biggest issue, so in this case the main problem is that Peter won't be able to have a normal teenage life again. I doubt he'll ever be able to go to school again, and him and Aunt May will probably be forced to live in the Avengers facility or some other safe house.

The Mysterio illusion sequence was everything I expected Mysterio to do to Spider-Man, and I loved every minute of it!
I laughed when Beck was all angrily like "Stark took credit for my tech... and he named it *barf*" like in my head for a second, it was the barf part that got to him and not the stealing. Like go ahead Stark take credit, just give it a cool name.
*After watching Spider-Man: Far From Home again, I doubt Mysterio is dead.* Mysterio's death was most likely an illusion. MCU has something of a reputation for fake deaths, & in Mysterio's case he's a master of illusion. The script attempts to encourage viewers it's real, with Spider-Man asking EDITH if he's is really dead. EDITH assures him that it's not an illusion.
However, Mysterio has a lot of experience with Stark tech as he's been working with Stark Industries drones for years & has a good idea what they're capable of & had time to experiment with EDITH's drones as well. Mysterio will be very familiar with the advanced sensor suite EDITH has access to & it's not unlikely that he figured out how to fool this tech. Even EDITH isn't a reliable witness & it's entirely possible Mysterio faked his death. In the mid-credits scene of Mysterio giving Spider-Man's identity to the public could be the first step of his plan, which would surely see him "resurrected" to the delight of an adoring public. Besides, MCU clearly has a Sinister Six idea in mind as they had Vulture meeting Scorpion at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
My theory is that the entire end battle where mysterio tries to seem like a hero, was actually just for spiderman, the entire purpose was to frame spiderman with him taking edith and spiderman thinking he is dead. I mean did he really think that train would kill spiderman, spidey is famous and people know what he has survived before.

That scene when Spider-Man had been tricked by hollogram projector from Mysterio. Was so brilliantly done.
They went no where with it though. There should have been something similar for the end fight between Spider-Man and Mysterio. It should have been a HELL of a lot more challenging for Spider-Man. Should have been a good mix of that wow cinematic factor and good action and tension. But no, the fight is over in 2 seconds because Peter’s Spider Sense wants to work 100% conveniently just because Peter thinks real hard for a moment.
That was really lazy on the writers and producers part.

I watched the movie with my co-workers that are unfamiliar with the comics and the lore in general. They were legitimately surprised that Mysterio was the villain. Also I love how Jake Gyllenhaal had terrible acting as Mysterio before the reveal.

The concept of "Mysterio" is not dead. I'm not sure if Quentin Beck is dead, but you see the assistant download all the files and escape, which means that "Mysterio" could still be in the Sinister Six if that occurs. Both Vulture and Mysterio are still alive, so I think they're setting up the Sinister Six
The director and producers said they just want to do new things with these movies so I don't think they're doing the Sinister Six since a version of them was already done in the PS4 game and Spider-Verse.

Although there may never be a day where a Spider-Man film comes along that overthrows the first two Sam Raimi films as my favourite Spider-Man movies of all time, but I am very glad to say that we live in an age where Spider-Man is back on top of the world. Spider-Verse, the PS4 game, and now this. It's a great time to be a Spidey fan :)
I loved this movie! There was one point in the movie where Nick Fury adjusts his eye patch and I thought that had to be the actor adjusting it and the people in editing missing that, because I didn't think Nick Fury would adjust the eye patch... for some reason. Then the end credit scene happens and that adjustment made sense. it wasn't a mistake. It was a hint at the truth. Mysterio was a great choice of villain and they did the character justice!
Saw it a few hours ago and that illusion scene was absolutely amazing. So enjoyable.

I think it's also to do with the fact though that he just wants to live a normal life. A lot of this movie was based around the idea that Peter just wants to have a normal summer. If he was bothered about fame and money, he would have revealed himself in Homecoming at the party.

The mysterio illusions were my favorite part of the movie probably because they reminded me of the scarecrow illusions in the Batman Arkham series. Absolutely amazing movie
