I see a lot of questions about my phone being named 'Gorilla Farts.' Here's the story...While in Rwanda last year, I spent time with a family of Mountain Gorillas. The little ones were wrestling around with each other and constantly farting. It was so cute. I then decided to honor their legacy by naming my phone after their flatulence :)
Lol. :D Great editing Ryan. Of a one of a kind ride. I love watching these. Thank you for creating them.
I loooove that your phone is named "Gorilla Farts". Go Amy!
My cat often has a gas leakage when I pick him up. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find it especially cute.
That's kinda cheesy! Lol.
Pretty funny stuff
This is exactly what I needed to know!
Netflix or Hulu or Disney should sponsor you man ur shows are amazing ur an amazing person and inspire all of us so much. Love you man
Awe!! Thank you for the kind words. Maybe someday!
The best thing about bicycle travel is the people you meet. So glad you shared the two individuals with us! As a female who also rides solo, the woman's words resonated with me. Thank you for sharing those stories with us.
I’m glad that you enjoyed their stories! Amy is so impressive
Sundays with Ryan. I always look forward to them.
YAY!!! Glad to be able to virtually spend Sunday morning with you
I do admire all the adventurous folks getting out there !
Thank you again Ryan for introducing great content to the world!
I do too! Love hearing their stories of adventure
Ryan, this may be getting old, but thanks again for sharing your adventures. You're a good guy who brings the good stuff the world has to offer. Do it as long for you, as long as you want, and I hope it continues to bring you joy. Stay groovy amigo.
Showing the good stuff will always be part of my mission! Thank you, my friend
Thanks a million for all your videos Ryan. Besides the footage, I tremendously enjoy your attitude and commentary. No matter the adversity or the easy day, your spirit is enjoyable and indomitable and sincerely appreciated as an inspiration and example.
Awe, thank you. This means a lot to me
Thanks for bringing up the roadside Trash problem.
It’s so sad :(
Very unfortunate about the trash on the side of the road. Same exact problem in Turkiye as well. Every time I visit, I see the flying plastic bags, empty water broken PET bottles, paper etc on the sides of the road. This needs to stop planet wide. Spot on with the rant.
Safe travels Ryan!
I wish that I didn’t have to rant about this topic :(
Yeah, what BaskinTapkan said.
Fun aside, I totally agree. The Ganges also suffers terribly from trash mounded along its banks. Such a contradictory act when compared to their belief that the river is sacred. Our entire Earth is sacred, yet we still manufacture and toss into our environment a gross amount of single-use plastic.
I’m sorry to say that trash problem does exist in California at least. To avoid landfill fees, people dump couches, mattresses and construction debris along country roads outside town.
Inspiring people overload, the world needs more people like you guys.
I agree, so impressive. I loved hearing their stories
Just got my bike today (Otso Wheela C) I have some of my gear and waiting for the rest to be delivered. First planed 2 day trip in 2 weeks. Super excited for I have been planning this for a few years. Thanks Ryan, you have inspired me to go after a dream I've wanted for a long long time. Be safe out there and maybe if the stars align perfectly we will cross paths. Shout out from Pensacola Florida.
Right on!! I wish you all the best out there
Thank you! I've watched most of your videos and enjoy them so much! You are an inspiration to all of us. You da #1 bike packer man!
Thank you so much!!
In the 1970s on a hike in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Aria me and about 20 students each picked up a full garbage bag of trash on about a four mile hike. Things have changed greatly for the better.
I saw the same change on a recent trip to China , 20 years after my first trip there the trash was mostly gone!
Hopefully Mexico will improve as well.
I hope so too!
Hey Amy!! I met Amy near Vincente guerro while healing my broken arm. Unfortunately my arm wasn't recovered soon enough for us to ride together but she was awesome and i really enjoyed her company for the couple days we were at the same place.
Great interviews with Amy and Mike. Thank you for being a positive ambassador and finding such positive ambassadors for cycling.
Thanks! I loved meeting them
One thing I have always noticed Ryan, is that you always ride with the best posture. Looking for some bc trail footage one day. Thanks for years of great enertainment
He’s on a mountain bike, he’d have to go out of his way to sit any other way than upright.
My bike sits me in a very upright position, we designed it that way so it would be comfortable for many hours of sitting. Cheers!
Well done, Ryan!
Thank you!
Enjoyed this
So enjoyable to watch. My favourite video so far.Thank you
THANK YOU!
I love watching your vids! I grew up in boulder. I miss it very much
oh cool!! What a great place to grow up!
Big Up Amy. What an adventurer 💪
I was so impressed with her!
Thank you Ryan for your rant about trash in Mexico!!! I sooooo agree it’s a culture change that can and will happen. I am standing with you!
Thank you!!!
I am in San Miquel de Allende so much I practically live in Mexico, BTW
Awesome video Ryan! So interesting to hear about other travellers' adventures when you talk to them.
I love hearing their stories, it motivates me to
The first thorny plant looks like a close relative to what I've heard called a "honey locust." Yes, a very rude plant. My brother has one of those wooden thorns broken off in the bone of the heel of his foot. It's been there for a couple of decades. No way to really remove it. Kudos to Maik for such a long trip.
It looks like a challenging, but fun, ride!
It is!
no trash!!! thanks for pointing it out!
Amigo, GREAT stuff as always!
I appreciate that
Never could I but Watching is Fun 😀
I appreciate you watching and enjoying my content
Ryan Van Duzer, I am hoping to leave you a nice gift in honor of my husband, Bill’s, birthday. We have enjoyed your videos. You’re funny, interesting and take us not only to beautiful places, but let us virtually experience them and the lovely people you encounter. I love the energy and cheer you had at the beginning of this video. Do what you need to so that you can always be true to yourself. ❤️ from Sheila in honor of Bill. (He’d be tickled if he heard his name in one of your vids, but I understand that may not be possible.)❤
I incredibly touched by your generosity, please send me an email, I’d love to continue our conversation. Crazyduzer@gmail.com
Duze, you give off such good vibes! Love your positivity!
I appreciate that!
Beautiful day to be Free...
Ryan 🙏
I agree
Ryan van Duzer is perfect!!!!
Awe ;)
Great video Ryan, take care sir 🙂🙏🚴♂️
Thanks, you too!
That was so cool. Meeting people from all around the world while doing an adventure in Mexico. Biking is universal. Thanks for sharing this with us.
No doubt! So fun to meet these folks
Ryan, I share your sentiment regarding the trash dumping. Unfortunately, it hasn't left the US. Right here in ABQ, NM, I see it less then a mile away from my house. It's the large contractors and who they subcontract with who dump the trash. Along with the random lazy ass who won't fork out the five dollars and drive to the dump. I've sent multiple photos to our city counsel here and the just sweep it away (not the trash). It is heartbreaking to say the least. Keep on my friend!
Oh bummer, I’m sad to hear this :( I guess we gotta lead by example and hope it inspires others to do the same
Loved the interviews with the other cyclists, thank you for the inspiration, going on my first overnight trip in two weeks, keep on rolling, thank you for all the PMA (Positve mental attitude) you are always a bright light in a world with so many clouds.
I loved meeting those two!
I love Sunday bedtime because that's when I watch your latest installment, which sets me up for the week.
Awe!! This makes me happy
Todos Santos is such a rad town…great food amd art scene
I love the interview with other bike travellers. That German guy was so typical german (in a good way!!) , and I love that he rides these old bikes (I do the same). Also mucho respect for Amy to take on such a big trip at that young age. That takes some courage and strong motivation. Cheers.
I loved meeting those two! Both have very interesting stories and get me fired up for more adventures
Don’t “mess” with the world. ❤️
Exactly!
That trash business is heartbreaking. I found a lot of big trash piles along the Gdmbr in NM along forest service roads. Really made me sad.
Appreciate your environmental awareness 👍
It’s so sad…and I’m not sure what will finally make people realize that this isn’t ok
Hola Ryan next time please take me to any of your adventure less than a week 😊
wow so inspired, especially seeing other people riding big advetrures solo. You get to have your trip just how you want to do it.
Amy and Maik have incredible stories
Thanks for all that you do I ordered my brand new GET OUT THERE T shirt it came and I love it THANKS Ryan
Yay!! So glad that you like it
Howdy Ryan, great adventure. Love all your videos. I get a huge kick out of watching where you travel to next. BTW, ranas = frogs, sapos = toads 😊. Safe travels
Whoopsie! That’s right
Great video
Thanks!
Not a bad place to wake up.😊
One of my fave campsites ever!
I have watched everything and I need more Ryan please 😭 come to the pnw and try around my hood
I love the PNW!!
Nothing like finishing the last bit of a trainer ride to some baja action.
Thanks for letting me join your ride!
Go Blue! Huge fan and season ticket holder with my son.
Nice!!! I bet those home games are amazing
Kinda missed the buenas noches.. haha. Cape loop looks like a good escape from our Minnesota winters, I might have to put it on my bucket list.
It’s a good one for the list!
❤ your adventures duzer your awesome
Thank you!
Thanks for the interesting, beautiful, fun and well edited videos. To Ryan, in honor of Bill’s birthday.❤
Oh my!!! I can’t thank you enough for your incredible generosity. Wow! I’m humbled. I’m sending you a huge hug from Boulder, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL!!
@@duzer ahh, thanks Ryan. I just showed your comment to Bill. Later today, when we’re home, he’ll get his other Duzer gift, your Priority fundraiser t-shirt. We’re grateful for you Ryan.
Best to stretch at the end of the day to loosen up and move along the lactic acid that’s built up in the muscles. Plus it just feels good!
I stretch throughout the day, it does feel good
Hey RVD, love all the videos I like and subscribe to all of them. Just wondering if you have ever thought of doing a multi day bike pack to more of the eastern USA? Any plans to ever do a ride in Vermont, Connecticut, New York, Virginia, WV area? Thanks for all the great content!
I actually just got back from riding in Florida! Stay tuned…and I’d love to ride Vermont in the Fall! Thanks for the ideas
Oh bro my buddy has a house in Pescadero just south of Todos….your probably already past it though…would’ve been cool to line you up with a cool spot to crash…it’s freezing here in Colorado 😂
The Criolla style black beans are even better!
Oooh yes
You really need to eat some rice with those beans. Some veggies would be good too.
Colorado State University worked in collaboration with a self-proclaimed eco resort that was being built about the time I was moving away. The resort was going to impact the only beach where fishermen could launch, disrupt turtle habitat, drain the town’s aquifer, and ruin fish habitat when a desalination plant was built.
No way, that’s crazy
As a Georgia Bulldog the SEC comment made me laugh. Another great video.
Haha, sorry! Your team is just too damn good 😂😂
I believe that is CSU-Pueblo on the water tower. Timberwolves
Interesting
Beans are part of a trad English breakfast.
The only way to start the day !
Heinz baked beans with full English breakfast… keeps you going the whole day
@@peterk9337 FART BOOSTERS ENGAGE.
Who needs an electric bike when you have baked beans……
I think that killer plant with the thorns is a "Prosopis pallida" , or commonly know as "kiawe". pronounced - Key-ah-vay
Ouch! Even its name is scary, haha!
Go CSU!!!!
Have you tried using cushcore inserts so that you can lower your tire pressures and get better traction in the sand
I haven’t, but I should!
Amyyyyy ❤ :)
the best time to have done something is always yesterday.
Yep!
I moved there after Hurricane Odile. At night, smoke from burning plastic garbage would wake me up. I learned that the local dump was so full of hurricane debris that it closed for a few months, so people were taking their garbage to the outskirts of town and burning it. So yeah, the system needed improving.
Yikes!! That’s the worst smell ever
Ryan, you should visit missions! And other good stuff.
I did, you can see those snippets in my other Baja series
So are we just going to ignore the phone named Gorilla Farts? 😆🤣
A little Easter egg to put a smile on your face 😂😂
Go Rams!
😜😜
Can you get a boat from los cabos to mainland?
You can take a ferry from La Paz to the mainland
Ryan, being bent over those bars all day is going to less than ideal for anyone's comfort.
You may benefit from a better more comfortable bar design, "Jones" aluminum bars with the built in 2.5" rise works for me.
And at very reasonable price.
$99.00 and $149.00.
@SkyPortrait they are very effective as well.
Thanks! I’ll look into that
That trash looks like the road sides in Southern California.
Does your bike have a dropper seat post?
Not this one, but I’ve had them in the past
The one "Don't Mess with Texas" tv ad I saw showed a huge gun turret turning toward the viewer. Were they threatening litter bugs with big guns? Actually... maybe. It's Texas. But litter was never mentioned. And what it did say was something like... Texas welcomes friendly visitors. Everyone else (something threatening). TLDR: I don't think those ads were ever about litter.
google ‘Don’t mess with Texas’ and you’ll see lots of funny old ads on TH-cam
Does the tent have a bathroom?
No, had to go to the communal bathrooms
@7:56 maybe you have not visited downtown Los Angeles 😂
Haha, big cities can be bad
There’s some weird processing going on with one of your cameras or in editing. It’s like some sort of limiter or something and it makes a weird reverb in to the audio 🤔
Hmmm
I believe sapo is the word for toad and rana for frog.
You are correct
I'm a new subscriber, so I may be missing some context, but what is the story behind "Gorilla Farts"?
Welcome to my channel and a look inside my goofy mind :)
That thing about trash by the road is really a bummer 😕. It's a shame for latin america to have this cultural habit of disposing of trash everywhere. Here in Brazil I see a lot of this. When I visited the US I could see how differently this question is dealt, at least in Eugene, Oregon.😊
Hopefully every country on the planet can improve things
Watch out for the yellow poofs sung to the tune yellow snow by frank Zappa lol do it
😂😂😂
Ok Ryan, gotta ask. What is "gorilla farts" on your phone? LOL
haha, I wondering if someone would notice that...I named my phone "Gorilla Farts" while in Rwanda last year, we had just seen the Mountain Gorillas and the little ones were letting out cute little farts :)
Thought it might be related to your bean intake LOL
let's just not point out what the gorilla farts is all about.... haha
Explanation in my pinned comment above
Regrettably, the Arizona desert continues to be a site where trash is illegally dumped to this day.
oh no, I didn't know that :(
Your phone is named gorilla farts??!!?! :D
It sure is 😂😂😂
Thanks for talking about solo women riding. ❤
Correction,,, sapos are toads. I used sapos and was corrected by my Colombian spouse.
Yep, realized that after I said it ;)
First!
Whats the Gorilla Farts??
Explanation in my pinned comment above
For $65/night, you had access to a shower, right? Even Bike Touring Mike had a shower at every campsite along the Eurovelo. I would've have $100+/night, either. That adds up too fast.
I did have a shower…it does add up fast
Panama has piles of trash in some areas and no piles of trash in other areas. I’m not sure what the difference is. Seems like low hanging fruit for an aspiring politician.
Interesting
Gorilla farts?
Throwing trash all over is a Mexican culture thing
GORILLA FARTS???????
😂😂😂
Then they come to the US and continue doing the same crap. I guess the local govt does not provide for thrash removal.
Isn't it crazy that you ask a grown woman what her parents think of cycling solo? Think of the world we live in. Did she felt saver after that question? What does German Mike's mom think of him cycling and wildcamping solo?
It’s a question that comes from personal experience. My mom still worries about me and I’m 45. All moms worry about their kids when they set off into the world. I didn’t ask Mike the same question because I try to mix things up when interacting with people. Thanks
It IS a culture-thing, Ryan, and it’s disgusting. Unfortunately, that’s a piece of culture that’s been brought to Southern California and other parts of the u.s. Definitely needs to change.
With the open border United States will look like that.
I don’t think that’s true…I have lots of Latino friends in the U.S and they don’t litter.
@duzer fair enough you have decent Latino friends. Who do think is doing that then?
