    Tried out a new concept by letting the video and music go their way for about 30 minutes, no interruptions! On the other hand, I posted an Explainer on the same route, which contains all the information we could come up with. Should I edit future journeys in the same way?

      I like the talking and explanation as you travel, not just music. The ladies saddle heights seem way too high( hips rocking even with toes pointed).?? There was no flow and it was hard to follow actually where you travelled. Once again thank you for your interesting angle of interpretation of your trip.

    Another great Video from 2 of my favourite people on the net. Greetings from Down Under (Adelaide) Love the scenery and those sunsets and having Sam and Bec with you added another dimension and I sense some extra fun. Top stuff. Rod

      100%! It’s also the opposite of the typical fast paced stuff that we see everywhere. This is a much needed breath of fresh air haha. Whatever you do, I’m down to watch 🙌

    After having watched the Explanation video yesterday, I very much enjoyed the new style of this one (but then I’ve also liked all of your previous videos, so ...)
    Your previous videos were (IMO) documentary style and great for it, this one is like we’re following you around from the sidelines, like I am the cameraman. Also a great style.
    It’s great to see Sam and Bec again too!
    Cheers 👍

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Tony! Really appreciate that. I like this new approach a lot, and two videos per journey with different angles frees me up from having to think about the structure out in the field. I will experiment more with it in the following months.

    Beautiful video. Gets you deep dive feeling, steers up lots of emotions. Almost forgot I’m watching youtube. And audio is great too! What bothered me, that beginning is so contrast to the rest of the video. It’s long, it’s different, and it’s probably more suitable for vlog style video with action camera selfies. Perhaps voiceover would fit better as intro for such a beautiful and flowing video. Anyway, thank you. Hope you’ll stop burning you fingers with matches. :)

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely agree with that, and will be moving forward without intros/outros altogether. They don’t pull you in as much as the rest of the video does, and fit the explainer videos much better. Thanks for sharing that tip :)

  • @lfrc2006

    Amazing video Tristan! Very insightful of such an experience. One question for a newbie like me...may I ask for tips on how to clean pans and dishes while wild camping like this?

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Luis! I’m happy you ask, since it’s a way I don’t really share on camera. I have a rubber spatula that I use to ‘wipe’ down the pan as we eat the hot, still pretty wet food from it. This way, the food doesn’t have time to form a dry crust on the side of the pan and I almost don’t have to clean it at all. Just some toilet paper, and maybe a small splash of water. It’s really easy.
      That being said, if there’s water available for cleaning (stream, fountain, tap) then I happily use a more sanitary approach with biodegradable soap and a small sponge.

    Stunning sunsets. The variety of plants was very interesting. So different from my part of the world (west side of Oregon)
    Curious what the date was when you started the ride? That information is helpful for people planning to ride the area.
    Thank you for a lovely video

      Yes, Baja’s flora and fauna is fascinating to say the least! We started at the end of January, which was beneficial as the nights were less cold than in December / January. On the contrary, the south was very hot when we arrived in March. I recommend starting early January for the best temperature balance.

    What a wonderful video - I have really enjoyed this style of film and it inspired me a lot. Would you tell me which lens you used for this trip?

      I’m glad, thank you! This was my first time using a 24-105 F4 lens from Sony, and I loved it. It’s big and heavy, but worth carrying for me. Wishing you well on your long trip!

    • @patrickbriscek
      @patrickbriscek ปีที่แล้ว

      Great that it turned out that well - the versatility with the 24-105 is awesome. I am still struggling which one to choose to buy: 28-75 F2.8 or Sony 24-105 F4.
      But as I have noticed, your low-light footage looked great with the F4 lens.
      Thank you very much, looking forward to see more great content like this.

    Bummer you didn’t finish. Also. Curious as to why there is never any footage of local people and their opinions of all the travelers coming through their land.

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You make a good point. Personally, I find it too much to ask locals to say things on camera. Most people are very shy about it, and the language barrier doesn’t make that a lot easier…

    Is it dangerous?You read a lot about robbery and murder in the North of Mexico-I went there in 1989 and 2007 but not to Baja California

    • @tristanbogaard
      @tristanbogaard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It didn’t feel dangerous, and I don’t think it is. Baja is a desert peninsula used by Mexicans that live rurally and thrive off tourism. I wouldn’t see it as a place where crime has any advantage.
