    I just sold off my '83 c70 Passport and upgraded to the same red & black SuperCub. It's honestly a great improvement. While there are some things that aren't as perfectly simple as the older models (kickstand/starter, seat, key system, battery location), there's a lot of improvements (lights, engine, disc brake, wheels, exhaust) that make it a worthwhile upgrade.

    Great video. I had a 2020 model in blue with red seat but sold it when I passed my test. Once I’d got over the buzz of fast big bikes and having to look miles ahead at all times I started missing the chilled vibe of the Super Cub so now I have a red one coming. It’s a 2019 model with 380 miles on the clock. So best of both worlds now. My K2 Gixxer 1000 & red Super Cub for the different moods I go through.

    I have owned a number of motorcycles, and I love my 2019 C125. It is simply a hoot to ride a low power bike briskly on the back roads. The motor hums, and smooth gear changes, especially down shifts are fun challenge.. Brings me back to my teens.

    • @EpohDerf
      @EpohDerf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're right about down changes. The clutch is taken away from you which means you have to get the flick of the wrist just right or you end up jerking and bobbing about. I love the thing.

      I am 6'1" or 185cm. Neither feels cramped and both feel small and chuckable. If you have the choice and you dislike the digital nonsense of the C125, get the CT125. Evem if you never took it off road it can do everything the C125 does with more luggage space and a bit more protection for the bike if it is ever dropped.

    Thanks for the comparison, yes they're great bikes. I have a 2021 model in red and cream, and I honestly just like looking at it. It gets more attention than my other bikes, people smile and sometimes come up and chat about it. It's hilarious fun, possibly because it doesn't demand anything of you. Sure you can get a cheaper 125 but that isn't the point as you said. The C125 is a very worthy successor to the long line of cubs and cub variants. I think Honda did a great job with the styling, and for the money, you're getting a true design and style icon. Cheers from Australia 👍🇦🇺

    • @EpohDerf

      You're right. It does enough if its own thing whilst nodding to its past. I've had much spicier bikes and about the only thing that generates as much attention is a peugeot 205. I think small, unoffensive, approachable vehicles draw petrol heads and non petrol heads in. I have a strong desire to see the Honda CT125 over here (the newer iteration of the Australian 'postie').

    Interesting comparison. I have had a C90 similar to yours for less then a year and nice to hear your thoughts. The rear shocks are terrible and I only just realised they have no damping. I like the new one and would have both. I have heard the grey 2022 has better shocks than the 2019 model. I can’t get more than an indicated 50 which tbh is fast enough as it’s pretty unsettled.

    In America our bikes shift up with the heel and down with the toe. Is it really reversed?

      Yes sir. If you are in Neutral, my bike is toe down 1st, toe down 2nd, toe down 3rd, toe down 4th. From 4th it is heel down to get back to 3rd, 2nd and 1st.

      The new 2022 has the new modified engine with an oil filter same layout as the 110 cc so the gear shift is reversed. It got me when I got mine after watching the US models when I saw the gear change was different.

    I have the 2019 super cub it will do 120 miles to the tank if you really put it honda say 188 ? No chance but great bike! I also had the c90 (honda Joe) years ago was great fun

      The supercub 125 is EXTREMELY good on fuel but the tank is tiny. I will do a test to see how many miles it will do on a fill. Just have to remember to take a spare can of petrol with me...

      I did about 120 mpg with 40kg of gear loaded on the back on a trip to Scotland throttle pinned most of the way there and back, I changed the oil when I got back and it was black I suppose it is not supposed to do 1700 miles at full throttle including the NC500 Applecross Pass

      If you can afford it, go for it. Wives can be changed almost as easily as motorbikes if it all goes wrong!
