Thank you for the info! I was wondering if that installation requires a GFCI circuit breaker. I am sure it will work OK, but if for any reason an inspector needs to get involved, maybe he or she will require that type of breaker in that panel. That is an outdoor installation, but again, I am not sure.
You are right! In this case since the charger is "hardwire" there is no need for a gfci breaker. If there is any plug then to my understanding is required. Im not in the USA but the best thing to do is to consult with a licensed electrician if any doubt. In my case the code enforcement where I live is as good as the "rum brand" available for consumption".
My blink charger has 4 wires coming out of it I think I need to take it apart. I tied the neutral and ground coming out of the charger together and it trips the breaker :/
They are 8 AWG wires on my 40A JuiceBox. The wire from the panel to the junction box, if installing that way, need to be 6 AWG to go along with the 50A breaker.
The wires on the JuiceBox were 8 THHN, we ended up running 8 AWG because the highest amperage would be 32 and with the 25% overage allowance, 8 would be great. Wanted to match them with 8 THHN, but running a conduit for those wires would have been very tricky in this case. It came down to either 8 AWG or 6 AWG,( which would have matched the 8 THHN in max amps). To be a little safer just in case, I then lowered the total amps in the unit to 30.@@craftedworkshop
Can you do a video on running power to a backyard shed? Im a 4th year apprentice and people have been asking me to do this kind of job, it would be nice if you can do a video commentary and tutorial.
Actually, this is a minor detail, but if you look closely at your load center, you will see that the GROUND wires actually are over on the right side of the box, while the NEUTRAL wires are on the left side. The exception is that you have a lot of arc fault / GFCI breakers in there, which have the neutrals attach directly to them. The point is that you said that the neutrals and grounds share the same connection points, and in reality they do not. It's not really a huge deal or anything in a single-phase system like this, but if you have enough of that green wire (and it looks like you might) then you really should connect that over on the ground strip with the other ground wires. In this particular case, there is no neutral. Some 240V circuits will have a neutral, such as a dryer or stove, because these appliances may have an internal 120V circuit (such as that for a light bulb inside a dryer) and they would use a neutral; appliances that are strictly 240V will not need that neutral, hence only the red/black and green wires. One other note here is that, although your local codes may not require it, you really should install a quick disconnect box outside (like what's on your air conditioner), connecting that to the breaker panel inside, and then connecting the pigtail on your JuiceBox to the disconnect. This makes for a cleaner installation and also a little easier to work with in a case where you might need to remove current from the JuiceBox in an emergency (not likely, since it has its own internal monitoring circuits, but still this is often code for an outdoor install.)

Thanks Bro ❤️
Good video. You were absurdly lucky that your electrical panel is in the exact spot you needed though.
Gotta be good to be lucky 😉
I could have made any scenario work, but I got off easy ☺️ Glad you enjoyed the video 🙏🏼

i believe the instructions for the charger specifically said not to use a gfci breaker.
@@DailyElectrician Ok. Cool! Tks!

Which way do I turn the key to lock into the bracket?

yeah dont do that
Does it specify if those are 8 gauge wires?
should be 6s i believe, but check the spec sheet/instructions

You need to get a license before you're doing illegal side work
if you dont know how then you shouldnt be doing it. wait to learn in your apprenticeship 👍🏻 im not here to promote sidework or teach you how to, lol
If you need to watch a video ,you shouldn’t be wiring anybody’s shed .. You will be held liable if anything goes wrong !

Well im glad you went ahead and uh did that
Avoid saying "I went ahead and..." It's annoying. However, your video has helped me reinstall my EV power feed.
U really just fish the flex through the wall like that
?
Gopd video bro what car did you get?
Thanks! I didn't get a new car, my friend moved in with a Tesla.
Great video like always
Good video. Is it even possible anymore to publish a DIY video in the US without saying 'go ahead' or 'went ahead'?
You should do more how to"s
Thanks, anything in mind?
Take a shot every time he says "went ahead". Trust me, you will absolutely die of alcohol poisoning.
😂😂😂
I see you also prescribe to my measure once, cut 5 times rule. 😊
hahaha
nice and easy Thanks
Glad it was helpful 🙂
Hey could you install mine too please 😅
lol
good video
Thanks!
Nice
👍👍
Amateur hour !!
