1000000% worth it. Copy or not, B&S gave us an option that looks similar but for $20 whereas the Elko is what $90-$100? Some ppl may not want to pay that so ya 100% worth it. Also the Fox Vulpis is also very similar design too. Brands copy eachother. It happens all the time.
As far as I can tell the original design came from Y-Sart mini bean knife LK5009 frame lock with 440C found on Amazon or Gearbest for 24.95. Thanks for the review.
I have several striders benchmades kershaws spydercos a rockstead to name a few brands I have experience with... I would say the bear and son is worth every penny .. I believe it comes In a smaller size also ...
Great review man! Just saw this one over on smkw and decided to check a review of it. Thanks for showing it in good detail, it actually looks well made! Subbed ya ok, have a great week!
I actually like this slipjoint design' but I won't give James brand or Bear my business. James marks up their stuff to a ridiculous price' and Bear lies about their materials and manufacturing details. They make USA knives look bad.
Hahaha. “Look it’s got anodizing, and a folding pointy stainless sharp edged protrusion thingy with a lanyard loop on the other end! It’s a blasphemous COPY I declare” 😂 Whatever dude. Every such iteration is a “COPY” of a pocket folder.

Typically Bear and Sons Carbon steel is 1095. 1095 is a great steel at the 20 dollars these are priced at.
1095 is a great steel but for $20 I don't think it's 1095, probably a 440 or 420HC steel

Thanks for the information. Off to do some more research!
im going to guess the steel will be a 420hc. That is the industry standard. ~0.5% carbon ~13% chromium

Do you have any experience with their s30v stuff? I don't have any of their higher end stuff.

@@CoyoteEDC and if he did his homework, their website clearly states it is 440 stainless.
Agreed.
