Watch Malik ball out. We forget that Mr. Archie is waiting patiently as well. I have faith in my team!
I’m hoping he does!
he will transfer.
arch isn’t good
@@aidenmorse3954 lol
@aidenmorse3954 he's a Manning.
Maalik time. Dude is primed and ready to go. He can lean on all the weapons around him and the run game - I think he is going to be just fine.
I’ve been rooting for Maalik since the spring game. We all know he’s not Quinn but like he said, Maalik still has everything Texas needs to move the ball and win games.
Dude he very well may be better then quinn! Bigger arm then quinn, has size over quinn.. Think people forget Bout Malik because how "team" he is. I think this is what we needed. I've been wishing he'd get his chance
@@BillyJohnson-jk6bo people also seem to forget that Maalik course have easily transferred to a different program and became a starter there. but he instead chose to come back. Now he has his opportunity to show he can pick up where Quinn left off and lead the team to wins.
Alright Malik show em your stuff. Totally behind you you and the team. Hook 'em
Maalik Murphy.
🤘🏻🤘🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
It’s Maaliks time to shine. He’s been there watching and learning from the best. He will be fine.
I think we see Malik go off on BYU. If it goes incredibly well, I curious how Sark deals with putting Ewers back in when he gets healthy
Ain't gonna be a QB controversy lol Ewers is him if healthy.
He's him when he's healthy but can we count on him to be healthy?
Depends on how well Maalik plays and how injured Ewers is. People are expecting Quinn back before the end of the season, but what happens if the shoulder takes longer to heal than expected?
@@AJXOXO-vz1pn or what if he balls out of his mind?
@@MichaelPressler970 exactly, that’s what I’m getting at. He looked amazing at the spring game
I was at the Spring game and when Murphy came in there was a different energy. He's just got that "it" factor to go along with a cannon for an arm. Expect good things.
Malik does have a cannon for an arm and i like that but my concern is the wr's having to catch bullets
If you watch his high school highlights he throws beautiful balls with great touch and speed. He can throw a bullet but he can also throw a nice over the shoulder
Maalik is a Winner! He's a state champ and there is not gonna be much drop off. Im ready for him to shine
Maalik is 6’5” 240 and will be bringing a cannon to the games. I am very interested to see how it goes.
ITS HIS TIME!! LETS GO MAALIK
Great analysis! Malik doesn’t have many live reps, but he’s been in the program long enough to where he should be good to go. Hope so! Hook ‘em! 🤘🤘🤘
Maalik Murphy will show out.
🤘🏻🤘🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
I think Maalik Murphy balls out. I think that he will bring the same mind set we had when we had VY. Power option will be key for Maalik Murphy in his first start.
Don't think they'll be running him too much on his first day out and risk an injury!
Manning isn’t playing the next game. It would burn his redshirt. After next week I think Sark starts getting Manning reps in the last 4 games. The rule is a player can play up to 4 regular season games and preserve his redshirt. Maalik has been in the system last 2 yrs. He’s ready to do well.
You can play in 4 games and keep a RS
@@Bones12x2 that’s what I said. There are 5 games left. Arch isn’t playing this week and the remaining games too. That would mean he’d burn his redshirt. Likely, the Horns are gonna start and finish with Maalik for BYU game. Even if Maalik struggles, he probably won’t even be replaced until the following week.
Those games don't have to be 4 straight. Manning could play against BYU.
@@bridawg24 that’s too risky. If Arch plays meaningless snaps in the BYU game and then, god forbid, Maalik gets injured in the remaining 4 games, then Arch will have played 5 games and burnt his redshirt. All for some meaningless snaps against BYU.
@@AJXOXO-vz1pn
Arch playing this game Would Not Burn His Redshirt!
Let's Rock out!!
🧡🤘
Way to , go, Murphy, you did great your first time. You have the most powerful number on ur chest and that's 6 you're gonna be number one. Buddy, we have Faith in ya 😁
Maalik gonna ball out I believe in him
Let’s go Malik!
A but sad that Quinn got hurt but honestly excited to see Malik. Honestly i think he might be better QB than quinn, he’s got legs and can also sling it! Heck, Texas might even be a better team with him at QB . Lets go Horns!!!
Quinn is the better athlete between the two so there's not much value in his legs.
Quinn isn't better than anybody
Off of what evidence?😂 He is COMPLETELY unproven so far, there is absolutely no supporting evidence for that argument.. Or are you going off of 1 SPRING game with a total of 13 passes lmao?? I hope he leads us to the Big 12 title game because we’re in a prime position to reach the CFP for the first time this year but to say he’s better than Quinn is ridiculous. Also for everyone that I’ve seen keep saying that he’s a better runner with no support as well, we’ll see how much his 238 lb frame runs for the rest of the way but the quickness will not be the same as Quinn’s when he weighs 50 more lbs. Very simple concept but with some of these comments by our fan base promising otherwise you wouldn’t think so..🤦🏼♂️ Hopefully he develops more touch on his passes and quickly at that, reads the defense well pre-snap like Quinn did, and doesn’t force throws into tight coverage which is a leading factor of interceptions week in and week out in football. Turnovers in key moments is easily the difference between winning games and losing games- something Quinn is excellent about incase you’ve forgot..?🤔
@@blakee3309 expect when playing OU
Average at best. All of his targets are wide open.i will give him this when defenses make adjustments he won't for the most part take any chances.
A lot of schools would love to plug him in as the starter next year...Washington...Oregon...USC come to mind right away
Maalik can spin it. He’s gonna be alright
This could be the best thing or worst thing to happen for us Texas fans, and it all falls on Sark. If we let Murphy loose and run the same game plan (albeit better playcalling with knowing those deep passes WILL be caught) then we'll be an even better team. However, if Sark continues to limit the man to just handing it off and throwing sideline passes as he always does with Maalik, then we have no shot rest of the season!
Murphy is what Max Duggan was to TCU and Cardale Jones for Ohio State, as in the backup being absolutely better than the starters after all!! If Sark will allow Maalik to go off, we and the whole college football landscape will soon realize that!
Except Duggan w is an exceptional runner. Maalik is a pocket passer
MAALIK IS MAALIK THATS IT
@collegebro85 swear to God! First person I've seen share my thoughts! Malik is a pocket passer 100% but the kid is 6'5 and isn't just a brick he's like Big Ben. I'm am now 1000% back excited for the team now and in the future
Why does it seem like Texas has so many trolls that are “fans.” Ewers is one of the best QBs in college football, y’all finally get a good qb and you somehow think the grass is greener with the backup. Just enjoy your winning season lol. If maalik was close to Ewers than Sark wouldn’t be splitting the first team reps between Arch and Maalik at practice.
Malik struggled in fall scrimmage when they turned up the pressure. Hope he grew from that. Im pulling for him 1000%. Hes got the strongest arm on the team but arm strength isnt everything
Quinn struggled Vs OU 2 Picks and a fumble...Maalik arguably should of come in for that game..
@@SIGNATURE.83 one of Quinn’s picks totally wasn’t his fault. The ball bounced off his receiver high in the air for a pick. Outside of his first pick, Quinn actually played a good game. And Maalik didn’t struggle in the Spring game last Spring.
@@SIGNATURE.83After the two interceptions, Ewers had 19 completions in a row.
And trying to run over a 250 pound DE IS OK AT 187 👍🏿 👌🏿 😂😂😂 🤘🏿
I don’t think anyone is worried about this young man, we’re wondering about that secondary..
Exactly we been getting torched since week 3
Maalik 6'5" 238Lbs. 🤘Hook'em!🤘
God speed recovery Q.E. Maalik time?????
I don't expect much from Murphy. Sark is too damn conservative at play calling. He didn't open up the playbook with Ewers. So don't expect many downfield pass plays with Murphy. Texas has weapons at wide receiver. Sark has two go to plays. Run up the middle and horizontal pass. And the dynamic WR Johntay Cook rides the bench. Bottom line, Texas needs a better OC.
Nailed it. I believe BYU will stack the line and dare Texas to throw. Just me
Just imagine how much money is wasted on NIL
the manning sweepstakes just went into Defcon 3...
I've been excited for Maalik since last year. I feel he is better than Ewers. He'll get his chance Saturday. HOOK'EM!!!
He is no where near as good as quinn. Arch has been getting more reps with the 2 nd team lately
@@k1ngcast731how do you know he’s not a good as Quinn ?
Neither one are the Caleb Williams type. If they were they would be somewhere other than Texas. Just saying.
@@GiddyGiddyGo he’s be starting by now. I will admit he has a better arm than Quinn but has no touch in his passes yet
@@k1ngcast731 Sark is the only reason Quinn remains the starter, period, otherwise he would have never reenrolled back to Texas from Ohio State!
This could all work out very well for UT. BYU is not a great football team. It could even be argued that they are an average football team. Remember, BYU cannot look at any significant video of Malik. How do you prepare for a QB that you have never seen play? Malik is a very talented DUAL PURPOSE QB. Unlike Quinn, he is capable of passing and running the ball. They can put in the zone read, QB draws and bootlegs with run/pass options. I would not want to be a BYU CB and have to come up in run support against a 6'5" 245lbs. Malik Murphy. Malik, the OL, the running backs and the receivers pose a very dangerous situation for BYU. How can BYU prepare for a QB that they have never seen play before? This game could end up being a nightmare for BYU. Hopefully the OC will scheme to exert maximum pressure on the BYU defense. The question then becomes, will the OC turn Malik loose on BYU? This could be a major MUDHOLE game for BYU. I certainly hope so because I just plain don't like BYU and wish only the the worst for them anyway.
Could not have said it any better!!
Maalik is not a dual threat QB. He is mobile in the pocket and has great vision because of his architecture.
@@machtschnell7452 I never said Malik was the second coming of Vince Young but, he is a very capable ball carrier. Your only exposure to Malik was the spring game. UT schemed their whole defense to prevent the 6'4" 240 lb U of H QB from running the ball. He almost beat UT by hitting their receivers for long gains. UT has to include running plays for Malik to open up the passing game and beat up on BYU. It is going to happen on Saturday.
@@rickeybenson823He's not a runner at all. Arch & Quinn are both more of a running threat than Maalik. People naturally assume he's a runner because he's a black QB but he's arguably the least athletic QB we have in the room.
Malik the mauler. Let’s go!
Maalik the pocket passer.
Not worried about him. I'm worried about the defense!
Murphy on sneaks will help the red zone offense big time
Malik finna ball hard
Can someone ask this Pickle guy where is his burnt orange pom poms?
Looks like we playing ok st for the chip.
Maalik is gonna kick some ass. But, on some downs, we'll see Savion Red and Charles Wright.
BYU going to stop the run
they are not stopping brooks at all
@@robfalter2522 They will when it's all we do besides short sideline passes all game...Sark has no faith in Maalik and it shows, and THAT will cause us to lose 2-3 more games at least!!
@@collegebro85 Your take is waaayyyy out there. Sark will let em hang and Maalik will do his thing. If he was truly the better option, he would have been the starter game 1. Period. I hope Maalik is one that turns it up a couple of clicks when the bright lights are on. As long as he performs to his potential and makes good decisions, Texas is in great hands.
@@robfalter2522Not Baxter nor Red nor even Blue.
@@13TX only reason Murphy isn’t the starter is because that’s the only way Sark got Quinn to recommit to Texas from Ohio State, plain and simple. Doesn’t matter how poorly he plays or better his backups are, the job is his until he enters the draft, which is a shame overall! Look what Cam Rising has done at Utah, and both Hudson Card and Casey Thompson are able to showcase with other schools. You cannot honestly tell me those 3 did not deserve to be starters over sEwers…
But come Saturday, unless all we do is run the ball, Maalik will prove my point
🤨🤘🏼
Wouldn’t be shocked if Malik leads offense with to more average points than Quinn.
Manning against byu Saturday ❤😊😊😊
Arch will not play this year -- he is a redshirt -- it's Maalik and Quinn -- let them battle out it in the off-season because Arch needs some maturing -- LOTS of maturing
He chose to stay because he was paid more to stay than leave.
A short leash. Manning has been getting more reps with the 2nd team over the last few weeks
Because MM has a existing and lingering foot injury.
@@topher3705 fully healed last spring
@@topher3705i’ve heard that he’s over that
@@reedjackson6985 Maybe so, maybe no either way it has been reported that he has missed practice time within the last two weeks.
Maalik looks nervous and will be but you get those 1st quarter nerves out and he's going to be better than a back up. He might even look better than ewers in some areas.
Naw, Maalik is chill. He knows what the do and will command the offense when he is playing.
i think maalik is pretty relaxed and confident
@@reedjackson6985 he looks that way but you can tell with the few throws he's had in game he is losing an ability to put touch on the ball. most likely due to nerves. He comes off as chill tho.
Ewers has a high ceiling but he is inconsistent. Came out hot vs Houston and then just disappeared.
what does inconsistent even mean when you complete 70% of your throws?
Silly Aggie
Tends to happen when you play hurt
He's been consistent AF this year... i like Sark but his play calling has been off lately, that fake field goal changed everything, gave Houston all the momentum
Didn’t disappear, sark took the ball out his hands and sark also hasn’t been able to adjust to the 3-3-5 defense and Quinn was forced to checkdown to brooks 8 times
This is really a great scenario. Murphy needs snaps. BYU is a great team to get your first start against. We get to see if Ewers really is making this team looking better than it really is.
maalik is hurt right now. if the game had gone to OT, he may not have been able to continue.
I do not think that is true. His throws were pretty much spot on with one being a foot behind the receiver on a cross.
Malik will beat out Archie next season for the #1 spot. If not then he's out
Sark plays these situations smart though. Both guys will split 1st teams reps until fall. At that point it’s a disadvantage to try and transfer if you don’t win the job.
Casual fans just do not understand that all the quarterbacks that Sarkisian has recruited are there to be developed by him. The next stop for each of them is the NFL draft.
🤘🏻🤘🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
@andrewliner1857 He can play it smart, but the kids are not dumb nor the people around them are dumb. Anyone can see the writing on the wall. C'mon now... lol 😆
Texas has a better chance if they started Manning. Sark's strategy to redshirt him while keeping Maalik happy (to avoid a transfer) as the starting back-up is gonna backfire. Texas is going to loss games and fans are gonna bring the hate. Then comes a QB controversy and wheels fall off. It is a very, very delicate situation that has huge potential to implode.
Manning to Alabama...
He’s not leaving Sark for Tommy Rees 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@andrewliner1857 you mean for Nick Saban and the winning Alabama
@@jfloyo11Which Texas routed this year? It has been no quarterback development at Alabama ever since Sarkisian left. End of story.
the Alabama that came very close to losing to Tennessee ? -- sorry --- no
@@storm7586 who won though
Power runs by maalik bring them safetys down . Also maalik was a 5* at one point also
