Saying Texas won’t have success in the SEC and that Quinn Ewers is inconsistent but yet diced up Alabama for 350 yards and 3 TDs. Also finished the year with a 69 CMP% almost 3500 yards and 22 TDs.
Also saying A&M is “talking championships” like they haven’t been since 1939 when they won their last one
dicing up Alabama week 2 was very easy to do last year as they were not in tune yet with their OL and QB situation. it’s also why I wouldn’t be suprised if they beat Michigan very badly up in Ann Arbor. but if they play again in the CFP and different story. that week 2 team would get boat raced by Georgia, that week 13 team however beat Georgia.
plus, they shouldn’t have lost to Washington-much MUCH more talent and (literally) threw the game away

As many as UT has smart one. Lol UT has the 2nd worst win percentage of all division 1 Texas schools since 2010. ATm had more ranked wins and more AP rankings since joining the SEC than UT does and that's in a much harder conference. The big 12 sucks that why they haven't won nattie since the playoffs started. The SEC has had 5 teams win the nattie in the last 20 years. The SEC is going yo be a rude awaking for UT fans.

Texas wins the conference 4 times since joining it. Oklahoma wins the conference 14 times. Why hasn’t A&M the SEC, because they have to beat would be national champions in the SEC west each year. What’s Texas’ excuse behind being perennially overrated?

I think a Longhorn hater more than Aggie fan. If you heard him promote OU you know that’s a dig at Texas as much as a statement of real analysis. OU and Aggie will be better soon but there are reasons Vegas has OU at 7.5 wins, and Aggie in the upper middle of the pack.

That would be a stepbackwards in terms of recruiting, there were would be a mass exodus of players from their football program, so I'm all for it. It would also prove to the rest of the country that the aggies didn't join the SEC to join the elite football conference, they just wanted to escape the University of Texas.

A&M is going to surprise a lot of you guys this year - More of their 2021 recruiting class is on campus than people realize, Elko was a huge ingredient in Jimbo's early success at A&M, The defense this year will be ELITE and every position on the offense will be improved from last year.
Alabama had one good season from '94-'07. Georgia went 20 years with no CONFRENCE championship from '81-00 and were constant disappointments under Richt. Kirby recruited phenomenally for 7 years but no hardware until 3 years ago. People don't seem to understand college football is cyclical. There are 15, maybe 17 blue bloods and they have never all been optimal at exactly the same time. Ohio State went 1969-2002 with no championship and won 1 since 2003. Michigan lost to Appalachian State at home in 2007 and had multiple down years until 2021. My point is people act as though Texas is not the 5th winningest program in history....with the worst 12 year stretch in program history from 2010-2022 included in that. They went into 2010 as the 2nd winningest program in history. Texas is top 5 in bowl appearances and wins. Texas is not just 2010-2022. So all this "one good year" stuff is off on history number one, and number 2, Sark had nothing to do with 2010-2020. He has built a completely different roster and culture that is more than ready to go into SEC and compete for championships immediately.

As a Oklahoma I can’t stand Texas but I agree that they won’t be as good as people think but Texas A&M does have the right guy I think to help them be a Playoff contender
I like what the coach of Oklahoma said. The SEC games are close, and a couple of plays result in 3 loses and a losing season.
A&M is mediocre at best. They’ll have the occasional 10win szn, but then nose dive every other year.. and let this sink in, they had. A 13. Year head start, and haven’t even sniffed a sec championship appearance.😂

UTA has a good brand. That's it. Here I'm Texas, people love the horns, but they don't know why. If you encounter a person wearing a longhorn logo, they will likely not know why they have it other than they just like it. I'm not griping, I'm just just acknowledging that it's an effective brand. And therefore, $. It just is what it is, unfortunately, there's no fighting it.
All I can say is that it’s gonna be a really interesting year to watch.

That would never happen with Texas. Now if Texas were to lose to OU too many times in a row that could create issues. When you think about rivalries, it is Texas/OU. No one else is even close. Historically Texas/Arkansas was always the second biggest rivalry. Things may be different from an A&M perspective, however.
Yep, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas are flagship universities of their respective states. Texas A&M is not, and that fact alone bugs the hell out of Aggies every single day.
Yo I'm a long time Longhorn and no way is Arkansas second. We beat their ass all the time except for that stretch in the 60s when they were actually good. At least little brother has won some games against us. Arkansas is a rival the way Rice is a rival.

Both schools are way overhyped. TX has come into the new SEC with an easier in conference play than what the SEC used to be. TX is getting destroyed in recruiting this year. A&M is just another year as a sleeper. Only thing diff this year is Jimbo gone which is a plus for A&M.

I wanted to like SEC Mike but he’s a Texas hater. I don’t know why he really feels that way but it’s a bias with no basis. Aggie has been mediocre in SEC but will give Texas hell come November, but that is no reason to take the position Aggie will be better w a new coaching staff compared to the Longhorns who are stacked and peaking at the right time.

Aggied will win this year due to one factor, home field advantge. aTm has 78 percent blue chip talent compared to UTs 72 percent so on paper aTm is more talented. We will see if Elko is better than Jimbo, but the staff hires and his track record prove he is. Remember Weigman was ranked number 1 in total QBR before his unjury.

Texas A&M is the most self delusional program in college football. The fans talk “championship” every single season. Despite this, 2023 marks 25 years without A&M even playing in a conference championship game, much less win a title.

Why do people continue to think Texas A&M is going to have a landmark season every summer? they're not a flagship university, they're not a college football blue blood, their best season in the last two decades was the shorted covid season, and their recruiting class that they brought in for the 2021 class (which was the greatest recruiting class of all time in the modern era) has either transferred out or disappeared into obscurity.
They certainly are a flagship university.
