Thank you so much for spending time on this! Pain in the butt that you cannot change the settings in game so I appreciate it. Made a great difference in my play!
That and the god awful ray tracing performance meant I just gave up and refunded this today. Not being able to change even FSR settings in game is a joke.
Great stuff mate, really appreciate going through all this to get us optimised settings. Probably the only other game that does settings worst than this is "Enotria" that launched this year and not only you have to exit to the main menu to change settings but if you change any of the settings (other than video settings, resolution, etc) then you have to wait through a 2-3 min shader compilation EVERY time you change anything.
Excellent video and big thanks. PC gaming is in such a bad state we need videos like this to achieve something close to acceptable. Will you cover upcoming PC releases in the same way?
so what i have found is this: The "Lighting" setting is way too demanding or unoptimized. Reducing it to Low I can run all max other settings at 4K and get a very good framerate (including all ray tracing settings on high. the lighting setting is more demanding than the ray tracing settings lol
Just got the deluxe Edition für 20eu.....awesome deal. Used your video for first settings and cranked it up a tad. Amazing game in 2024 after all these patches and for 20eu with all dlcs. Love this easy dodge toggle, its nice to have for the first 2 hours. 1 click quicktime events option is awesome too. You also can skip nearly every cutscene in the game nowadays. Looks like my patience with not buying it on release day is paying off now, hiihi.😊
Thanks to this I went from 75 avg fps in the game benchmark to 105. Lighting and particle lighting are on medium. FSR 2.0 is on quality. Cpu: 5600 GPU: 6750xt
BenchmarKing is quickly becoming a new fave of mine. I love Alex Battaglia over at Digital Foundry, as well but sometimes they spend half the video analyzing very small differences between new gimmicky GPU features in games. Found BenchmarKing when Dead Island 2 released and he's been my go to guy now for his absolute straight to the point vids while still being very accurate with graphics-to-performance comparisons
@@acdcjor lol but are you even wrong? Don't get me wrong - DF is great, but you absolutely hit it on the head with some of the "Alarmist Pixel Peeping" they do and how they aaaalmost just seem to stop short of rubbing left out gamers' noses in it
Hi! I just wanted to thank you for this video as it saved me a ton of time doing my own testing. I am also curious about the Physical Refractions option and if you ever had a chance to test it out. If you did, what would you recommend, leaving it on or off? Nonetheless, thank you so very much for all nicely organized information!
Muito obrigado , possuo uma 3060ti + 5600 . Vou usar sua configuração, mas tentarei colocar um pouco de ray tracing. Irei jogar em 1080P .. obrigado , ótimo vídeo.
Thanks for that FSR tip. I thought it was just terrible CPU performance not letting me have any gains. I gotta say, though, my 6700XT 12GB is KILLING this game at ALL max settings, 1440p. I was not expecting this performance.. but it's been a year and maybe there's been some minor optimizations both from the game and AMD drivers.
It is not using the latest version of UE5.x, the game uses UE 4.27 with customized G.I as Lumen doesn't work for the studio with what they had in mind, that's what they claimed without much technical insight why lumen doesn't for their needs.
Hello, thanks for the video. I have the same CPU and GPU as yours and your optimization encourages me to buy the game. Too bad this game was a terror at optimization. hehe.
Nice work Bro...Just AN adjust at Shadow volumetric quality and particles boost 30 FPS on my 6800 withiut not so much impact on visuals...Really Better these settings with temporal optimization without use fsr for me.
I use a 12700k and a 3090ti oc I can run the game at about 120fps with the preset but if I change some options like motion blur the game becomes ugly and I have 50fps... Nice video btw

physical refractions. What is this? you didn't say anything about this point. is this ssao?
Refractiona have something to do with transparent objects like glass

Dx11 for geforce 10,16, dx12 for rtx 20,30,40

Why keep temporal aa for anti aliasing?
