@Genghis Black The game has a quick recap at the beginning so no need to play 1. Although I personally played 1 before 2 and 1 is still a great experience. It also helps to know all the details from 1 to understand some dialogue
2 has a recap, but I would still recommend playing the first. You will know more about the characters and what is happening in the story. If you really don't want to though, then you don't have to.
Plague tale is AMAZING..I love history,, story driven and stealt games..it felt like it was made for me 😀 and escorting npc was not annoying probably for the first time
One game that I would like to add as a must play, single player is Titanfall 2. The game is phenomenal and you really grow attached to the characters. There is a multiplayer option as well.
Nier's combat is so good. I love how smooth everything mixes up. It's a game I immediately started a second playthrough as soon as I finished. (You'll also know why if you've actually finished the game yourself) I definitely recommend this title.

Just a solid, gritty, mind bending challenge. Room for improvement? Sure. But you're looking in the wrong place for "deep" complex fight mechanics.

When I was younger I played mostly multiplayer...now that I'm old, I dont want to pay arm or leg for internet services, I play single player games now. Plus I'm the only toxic player that I have to deal with. LOL
Great list. I will say though, ffx is a must in terms of story when compared to all the other ff's. If you take a step back to see what the developers were actually saying, it puts a lot of things in our real world into perspective. Its one of the few stories in any game that really got me to say "well done" to the developers. They take a very, very touchy subject to most, and create an incredible metaphor of a masterpiece. It also kind of revolutionised the way games incorperated cinematics and voice acting into their stories (metal gear solid being the other franchise to pioneer with it). The other ff's have arguably better gameplay, but from a story perspective i feel 10 takes the cake for the franchise.
I really want to like control, but I am having a very difficult time understanding it..Call me stupid, and maybe I am, haha..I have only gotten into it for about the first 3 hours..Does it get any more clear as to what's going on after that?

If you don't mind spoilers, there's a few of videos that explain what's going on if you do a search. Otherwise, just keep playing and at some point you'll figure out what's going on. Guardian of the galaxy surprised i didn't expect it to be a great game but it blew my mind from the combat to story and the interaction between the characters are hilarious and the story is so deep it pulls u in im on my 2nd gameplay cuz i wanna redo some choices i Made and its just that fun if u haven't played it u need to try it
I got Wicher 3 GOTY for 4usd for my xbox series s console just this month. I have it on pc years ago but was not able to play as I mainly play multi player shooter. Now with console I'm grinding witcher 3 and having a good time.
I loved far cry 4 and far cry 6 , incredible action , always gets you really into and wanting to carry it on , you get hyped up pretty much all the time and you get attached to the characters , personally far cry 6 was best , not only the action , but the cenery , the side quests alone can be really good , and the characters is wow
I agree on assassin's creed, for all the hate those games get I still love them. They are grounded, believable characters and gameplay for the most part, some pretty good stories, with insanely beautiful historic settings.
I love my Xbox but I feel I have it switch to PlayStation as it’s the only console pushing for more single player games. Last Of us 1&2, Spider-Man 1&2, Infamous second son, Heavy Rain, Detroit become human, Until Dawn, God Of War and even getting a Star Wars KOTR remake it’s incredible the amount of hours you could spend playing PS exclusives
I'm playing Witcher 3 now, for the 1st time..on PC. This, is my 3rd decade of gaming, and I have to agree. One of the best games I have played. Period. It lacks nowhere. Top notch visuals, game play, story line, character likeability. Oh, and nudity, full nudity, not exploitive at all. And very much cinematically weaved into the story.
Would have been nice to see assassins creed, I exhausted Valhalla to the point where there was nothing left to do, the story is great but there is so many side activities you can do aswell, I would say this applies for most of the assassins creed games

Personally, RED DEAD 2 is way better than the Witcher 3. I felt the gameplay (specifically combat) in the Witcher 3 is very simple. Not to mention the real immersive world in red dead 2.

Subnuatica and below zero are good if you want an ocean game, but kind of horror too. They aren’t on gamepass anymore but their only $30 and you could probably get it for Christmas or Hanukkah. (Suggest playing Subnuatica first)
I would give anything to have all of the classic 1990's point-and-click pc adventure games ported over to the Nintendo switch..That console would be the perfect platform for those old classic games.. So many great games back then..
Whilst I'm happy with this list, I feel as though Wolfenstein New Order and New Colossus deserved a spot on here... Probably one of the best story driven games I've played in a long long time.

Man... the story of one of the Halo games actually made me cry when I was younger. I think it was Halo 2. I forget. Between the music and the plot thread about the aliens basically being stuck as war slaves amidst a fight between humans and some other, superior aliens. That's our own human history, and it really made me sad how incredibly portrayed it was. Especially because it never seems to end. Real shame the series never struck those nuanced chords again.
Both halo 2 and combat evolved were a blast when I was young I would play with my brother every single day who was 10 years older than me. I’m excited for halo infinite coming in December you should check it out if you’re interested in the old style halo

I would like to get RDR 2, but the store says "xbox gold required to play on xbox". Not "xbox gold required to play online" like all the other single/multiplayer games. I honestly didn't like hades I was looking forward to it but disappointed at the end. I just don't have interest in roguelike games and the whole recycling back n forth drives me nuts.
I never did until returnal, it got me interested and after 42 deaths I completed it, and I like hades as well, but yeah they are really tough at times.

Titanfall 2 campaign is probably the best campaign I've played so far they jus gotta fix the server problems with the multiplayer

It's not underrated at all. It lacks any depth. Same as Ryse Son of Rome. It needs drastic improvements in the next game. Everything else was great.

I have RDR2 and you can play it offline. You can play it without a gold subscription.
I'm new to Xbox. I have already played/tried/own all of this games on other platforms (except for Hellblade)... So I'd like to have a list on exclusive games or franchises to try out. I've just finished Psyconauts and I am eager to begin with its sequel... But, what should I try next? 🤔 (besides Halo and Gears)
Fable games (1, 2 and 3), Perfect Dark, Sunset Overdrive, Hellblade, Crackdown series (if you like the GTA and Saints Row type games). Ori games. Not an Xbox exclusive but Titanfall 2 is amazing
Also adding the State of Decay games if you like zombie survival games. Alan wake and Quantum Break is also good. These are amazing and both Xbox exclusives
Thanks. I already have Sunset and Alan on PC. Haven't played but will soon. I'm definitely play Ori 1 and 2 (almost got them on Switch last year). Yesterday I started State of Decay.

Jedi fallen order doesn’t hold a candle to Battlefront 2 once they revamped it.
Theres 2 more games that are a bit too mainstream, but assassins creed and far cry are also great games

I honestly didn't like hades I was looking forward to it but disappointed at the end. I just don't have interest in roguelike games and the whole recycling back n forth drives me nuts.
I never did until returnal, it got me interested and after 42 deaths I completed it, and I like hades as well, but yeah they are really tough at times.

Mass Effect is great 👍and love the Halo and Gears franchise. I am going to have to try that Hellblade.
FAR CRY 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's like the best far cry in my opinion its a fps but its also kinda an aventrue game
