I have what someone I know believes to be a fossilized tooth of an animal, but not a shark. It is completely smooth, no spots to really put a wire. Do you think this is still doable?

Can a tooth fossil look completely like a stone material?

No it is not like stone. More of a solid glossy material and sounds like glass if you tap it with something hard
