Y'Outta see how I raised my kids... He's mild in comparison (I'm sure they get plenty of discipline when needed off camera like we did that most folks would equate to child abuse these days). I knew the future was only going to get worse and we haven't seen anything yet. The greatest generation raised me and by five our six I could do about anything a grown man could in the woods, fields and water. Grow it, shoot it, raise it. Like the ones before me I wanted my kids to be as tough as a boiled owl but honest, respectful and fair. Kids today that didn't get that kind of raising, blaming everyone for whatever, entitled, burning cities, doing lord knows what are a direct result of fatherless, soft raising.

Gabe, I think you are doing a fine job with your boys. They're polite, adventurous and their own people and that's from you being a good parent! Too many kids today get plunked in front of the tv playing video games, and not building their own character the way we did when we were kids. Up where I live even in the winter unless it got to be in the low -30's were we allowed to play in the house, we had snow forts to build and road hockey to play, ponds to skate on and when we were older snow machines to tinker with and ride, and in the summer from light up to sun down we were out running around being kids, and so were all of my friends, and we grew up to be productive people, some of us owned businesses, some worked for different companies, but none of us ever asked for a handout.

That mister Roy reminds me of my dad. He turned 98 in August and still goes into work, though he just stopped driving. One of his life mottos is "I am not going to retire until my birth certificate expires". That is now one of mine as well, and I am only 70... As for the boys in the mud, I was really laughing. Me at that age would have been at least as muddy as they were...

@@pk56403 Keep telling yourself that. They are not confused but sorely misguided. I and my wife took full responsibility for our kids actions until they started showing the ability to govern themselves. I.e. "Teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves." We were; all up in their business until they left the house! Most of the time these days and even in the 80's there are no parents around...then the "kids" look for stability elsewhere.

After working in the phosphate industry in Polk County for over 25 years, the largest shark tooth I have seen is 8 inches but the largest I own is a little over 4 inches. Go to the Phosphate museum in Mulberry or the Polk county historical museum in Bartow to get a better history about sharks teeth and phosphate mining. Also, you can see a family photo of my wife's relatives for the 1800's.

I think a video of the watermelon farm would be very cool. But my dad would eat a orange the same way. He would take it and roll it on a table and smash the juice out of the inside before he ever cut it open. Then take it and drink the juice like you showed. But cool video of the sharks teeth. The kids looked like they was having a ball doing this. Thanks stay safe and God bless y'all and God bless mmerica!!

That's a great picture you shared of you, him, & Rob. This video was totally enjoyable. Those kids were all having the time of their lives getting muddy and then hitting that cool looking crick!
When I was in Jr high & high school, I lived across the street from Taylor Creek in Okeechobee. We didn't much swim in it but we did waterski a bunch. We also used to ski & fool around out at OkeeTantie! I'm not so sure I'd jump in there now a days! I know there were gators back then but it seems the past few times I've been down there, there are a whole mess of those bigger guys now!

Where I am from in central Texas the geology is mostly Cretaceous but travel a short way and there is Triassic, Jurassic and to the North is Pennsylvanian sediments and rock. I am 66 and I still like fossil hunting and my (grown) kinds loved it too. Ammonites to simple gastropods, yellow to red ochre for Indian paint and down south there are Rudist fossils. The little Cretaceous ammonites are a bit rarer to find but they are there. Plant fossil in the Pennsylvanian geology.
I love the fishing videos but I am up for most anything. Rocks and minerals, fossils, wood (for DIY projects including palm) and plant species (especially the kind you eat) as well as birds, camping, hunting and exploring. I could use a nice piece of red or black palm wood for DIY art and craft projects. Tours are great too. Until I get a vaccine this is 90% of my travel by watching TH-cam :-)
Where I live currently noting much but miles and miles of corn and little water other than the Ogallala aquifer. No fishing to speak of either.

The memories you you make today are gold. 90 percent of fathers now days do not spend a quarter of the time with their kids as you do with your boys. They must put more time at the job to keep the all mighty dollar rolling which takes time away from the quality time spent with their kids. Be a hero so they afford things from working or be there for the kids but to broke to do anything. VERY hard to find a job that affords enough time off to enjoy time off with the family AND keeps the lights on..The person that find that career is more than wealthy.

Fishing as long as I remember sitting in my mama's lap and getting fat worms slapped in my face as she laughs her tail off! My brother has been working for Copeland Farms in Wilcox County Georgia for many years doing watermelon and strawberries....(only bought 2 or 3 watermelon my whole life and I'm 54!) They're everywhere here lol I was raised on the Ocmulgee River in Pulaski County Georgia. You are doing great and so grateful for your channel! Doing good with them kids! Oh yeah! Daddy would go pick a seedling gratefruit for me & turn it upside down and peal it half way put a plug in it & we’d sit down on the porch & enjoy ourselves & gratefruit. Sure miss my Dear old Daddy ❣️

Hello Gabe . My husband who is 44yr old had a stroke in 2018. The stroke left him with brain damage and in a mental state. I play your videos for him to keep him entertained . Also other creators. He has sat for hours just watching your entire Playlist. Sometimes daily. So thank you for keeping him entertained . Blessings to you and your family.

Yes,love to see the watermelon video! Grew up in West Palm and the Acreage in the mid 70's before all the growth took place. Took 30 minutes to get to grocery store (Miller's Super Value) at four points. Bonus points for anyone that knows the crossroads of "four points" in West Palm Beach.

Just left Wauchula making a video with my Daughter and Grandkids. You dig just about anywhere around that area and you will find shark teeth. So fun to look for. I worked for IMCC mines in Bartow from 1977 to 1985. Got hooked on looking for them. Just made a vid last week on what's left of my collection from that time period. God Bless.

You are Far from Hard on your kids!
You are Being Exactly as you were Raised.
    Respectable!
Maybe you should give lessons to those that say you are to hard on your kids, so they learn and change so this World gets Better!
I've yet to see in any of your videos, that you have been to hard on your kids!
    👍

I like anything you put out with Jake and the boys. Reminds me of my youth and playing in the creek and mud, as well as them fishing! Going outside is becoming a lost art with kids. I'm just thankful that we didn't have a reason to be inside in the'70's and earlier!

Gabe and Kelly, we love all the various styles of your videos. The watermelon video sounds fun. Do you ever see Rob's friend, Cliff and his wife? They have that huge farm and it would be interesting to see their operation, too. Keep up the excellent work!

BG, Nice to see parents letting kids be kids learning by doing ! And kudos to parents willing to share the fun of discovery by digging a hole and furnishing some water ! That's a seed that will forever be a part of those kids' lives ! BG, as a "farm kid" I know your critics don't have a clue how structured exposure to increasing responsibility is key to developing confidence and self-reliance in kids that will stand them in good stead when peer pressure says " do this or else " ; and they dont ! But be prepared for war with modern educational practice !
