Hes just going along with most other creators on TH-cam in not telling us they couldn't beat him. The list of names must be miles long at this point. I've heard a few mention they've even started a petition to stop Fromsoft from making a boss as hard as him ever again in the future as well.
Honestly, as insane as it is, iI think I can get behind it. Not so much because I liked Scadutree, but just so much more because I can't remember a single other boss in the dlc I even remotely enjoyed fighting, except maybe the scorpion lady. I think he's like only one of three bosses in all of elden ring I would ever willingly want to ever fight again, honestly.
@@killerkuerbis6845 I think he’s the best but to each their own. I think Messmer is a top 5 bosses they have ever made. The only bosses I definitely like more are Owl Father, Sword Saint Ishinn, and Sister Friede. Messmer is a bit better than Gael imo
He seems to value spectacle, uptime, mechanical complexity, and difficulty, but is inconsistent about how much value he accords to each. Also, his experience with difficulty is completely skewed by the overpowered build he uses.
@@carlschrappen9712yeah, I did a run for star fists crag blade and stomped literally every boss other than malenia and radhan in less than 5 tries, does that mean they are all just super easy and boring? Hell no
@@thedeadwolf918 what kind of braindead comment is this. the comment is saying that this list seems very disorganized and unthoughtful, as if the person who wrote the script never even played elden ring
So godskin duo is easy because you can cheese it? You can cheese almost anything in this game, even Bayle, you can literally go invisible and poison him do death without him attacking you ever, this is not a fair consideration for a difficulty ranking
With the same approach he could have completely cheesed Radahn and Bayle with the invisible spells. This ranking makes no sense it's actually impressive
I think in this case it's acceptable because of how widely known it is. This isn't just cheese the way for example throwing dung pie over the wall at capra daemon is. He's literally using the standard speedrun strat for them. It;s something thats extremely well known with countless demonstrations of ti out there.
@@darthkarl99 And even with the cheese strat, you screw it up, you're in for a world of hurt. Godskin Dou without that strat is one of the hardest bosses in the base game. It is also, in my opinion, one of the most blatantly unfair and made of bullshit boss fights in the base game. Keep in mind, Elden Ring is designed for you to figure out how to make your life easier and then proceed to abuse those strategies. Just as it will also punish you for them on some fights with bosses tailor made to punish those strategies and make you expand your toolkit. Or just make you bash your face into that proverbial wall until it either breaks or you do. This is actually one of those things I love about the game and the From Software library in general.
"Yeah Mohg is totally easy dude but god that whole other phase he has that makes him even more of a challenge and ramps up his enjoyment? Nah I killed him before that because I didn't wanna deal with it." You have got to be trolling.
@ Yes, that's the whole point of the video. His whole thesis with this series is "How hard are the bosses if I blender them with all my meta knowledge and the most OP builds I can muster up?"
@ Not saying that I agree with his opinion on Mohg's difficulty personally, but it's his opinion and the way he describes it is perfectly consistent with his goals here
@@reddnerd2449 and by that logic, gaius is harder than mohg because you can't just spam jumping l1 and lions claw to kill him. God forbid I learn the moveset.
I've only seen the DLC bosses in videoes so far, (me and my co-op buddy are gonna go through it together whenever his ADHD brings him back to it), but Rellana has been my favourite so far, which given her sisters second phase is my favourite main game fight is appropriate. I'm just sad at the limited amount of lore and the like she gets.
@@darthkarl99 she's one of my favorite fights because she MAKES you learn her moveset no matter what build you have she can still beat you down multiple times and if your too greedy (like I was) she roasts you in a tornado of fire 😂😂
DeMod when discussing Godfrey: "i love that he has arena-wide AoE attacks that you can jump over, peak gaming, miyazaki did it again" While when discussing Putrescent: "I can't believe his frostbite attacks are supposed to be jumped over, how preposterous, miyazaki fell off.
If you judge the quality of a video based on how much you agree with the overall ranking, then you're not actually interested in the analysis, you just want your opinion validated.
Call me a dum-dum but I just don't really understand your criteria. If it's based on who has the toughest learning curve to master then Hoarah Loux absolutely belongs much higher because of his constant aggression and variable grab timings. If it's based on pure mechanics, then Malenia belongs nowhere near the top of the list (especially with Godskin Duo near the bottom) because there are hard counters to literally everything she does, including Waterfowl and her move set isn't especially complex for a seasoned veteran. That's true of other bosses you have near the top as well (namely Gaius and Putty Knight). And frankly, if you're trying to do hitless, or some other challenge run, then Gideon belongs near the top just because of how relentless his casting is if you don't kill him while he's doing his intro speech. If it's based purely on how easily you can brute-force each boss while taking the shortest possible path to max upgrades, then what exactly is the point of the whole exercise? Every boss becomes easy if you're OP when you encounter them. And most people will accrue enough experience over multiple playthroughs to trivialize every boss just by knowing their movesets and hard counters, and that includes PCR post-nerf. What's more, I think your continued stubbornness in sticking to a pure melee STR build and not engaging with the full variety of mechanics the game offers really makes me think you're not really giving every boss a fair appraisal. You're basically just feeding into the ignorant criticism that Souls purists have been leveling at this game for 3 years now.
@@entroponetics the problem with the vid for me is that he's trying to sound objective and speak with some sense of high understanding. While actively trying to understand and learn as little of the bosses as possible by making himself OP as all hell.
@@Orion_Mr.Starlight Yeah, I just don't see what purpose these rankings serve. His previous rankings were informative for new players to some extent. These just seem like content for content's sake.
I think also it does not help the vid that section of each boss blends sorta kinda facts about difficulty (well opinions but there is some level of logic behind them) with pure opinions on quality of the boss that creates a clusterfuck of information that everybody will read as they want. Both quality and difficulty are subjective, and I am sure you can find someone who thinks Godskin Duo or Gideon are best bosses to be ever created, or someone who thinks that Ranalla is the hardest boss in Elden Ring, while Malenia is easy. You can defend your point both on quality and on difficulty but there should be clear distinction what you are talking about since when you do both you create jumbled mess. For most I think I agree with at least his difficulty ranking, of course some bosses I would move around, but I also do agree with you that ranking bosses how hard they are for person who knows how to cheese/nuke them is pointless since you can script nearly every boss in this game, with good example being no-hit runs where you can clearly see that boss fight looks every time exactly the same, and yes getting to that point is very hard but at that point ranking quickly becomes pointless.
I did not intend to comment, because I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we can agree to disagree if needed, but saying "I find no joy in brute forcing my way to win" after playing the entire game with an op build, panic rolls and nearly exclusively jump attacks reeks of hypocrisy. Sorry, but you can't seriously say that after complaining about every boss you can't just steamroll with this exact build and seemingly refusing to learn their patterns. You literally brute forced your way through the entire game.
What he's saying is he doesn't like it when the boss *doesn't let him* "tank and spank". This gameplay is honestly disgusting for a boss review. Rather to give him some credit, maybe he doesn't always want to just trade and bang, but he wants Elden Ring bosses to fight like Dark Souls bosses, when a boss forces you to fight on their terms it ruffles some feathers, people don't like it when it's not very intuitive and easy, and when it's not they at least want to be able to 'tank and spank' Elden Ring difficulty discussions are pointless because it 90% depends on what build you use and your playstyle. To me it looks like he plays to win instead of playing to understand and then to win, and in my opinion it's not really fair to judge bosses like that. It's fair to say you don't like Consort Radahn by the way, and his mechanics are bad for one reason or another, but when you outright say you aren't bothered to learn the fight, didn't spend enough time on Messmer, and outstat and muscle your way through the rest of the boss roster it does call your credibility into question a little.
Bro it’s a fucking game, everyone have their own approach on how to play the game and not everyone have unlimited time to learn boss moveset just to land an attack
@@hipsriqbts3461if you base your job on said videogames and the depth of bosses, then you MUST have the time to do it. If the series has to be "ranking bosses on how easy are to cheese/fun/beat with no real knowledge" then fine. But if you rank bosses from difficulty perspective you have to know at least the depth of their movepool. Someone like TbSkyen, who analyze them in terms of design and lore inside the games, can skip the movepool. Difficulty and gameplay ranking? Not a chance
- Says half the games bosses are overly easy now - Also uses an OP Build for every boss, that does like 4K damage per hit Idk if that is fair ranking lmao
Tbf, that was the goal of this run, trivialize everything as much as possible to see what was hard. That being said it makes the list terrible bc a lot of these choices are awful if you have any actual experience in the game
I don't really like listing something like the godskins as easy because of items - alot of things in the game are countered by items or build. Personally I don't like using sleep because... IDK, I'm no RP'er, but I just don't want to beat stuff by sleeping them out
I used to like this guys rankings, but this is ridiculous. Uses overpowered weapons and build, says moveset is not diverse oh and Putting PCR, Messmer, Rellana and Putrescent Knight that low is so wrong.
Putrescent deserves a low ranking tbh it’s way too squishy. It was the 2nd remembrance boss I found and it still went down on my 3rd attempt. I think he massively overrated Putrescent’s difficulty, but the quality seems about right. It’s a pretty mid boss. My Scadu level was low because I went Dancing Lion then found my way to the side of Shadow Keep through Bonny Village and went back to the ravine after the seal broke and the boss got demolished.
@@dariuspenner2528 Putrescent Knight is surprsingly simple but the fight is beautiful and the attacks are fun to dodge, like jumping over the ghostflame and rolling through the attack where he and his horse separate and try to ram you
Putrescent knight sucks. I don't hate it as much as I used to after my second playthrough, but I still can't stand how it just runs away after every hit, and jumping over the ghostflame attacks got old after the first few times. I agree with the rest of the statement though. Demod absolutely should not be saying these bosses are easy, hard, or have a good moveset when he essentially says his strategy was to just unga bunga and not bother learning
There's not a lot to Putrescent, so I find people either are of the mindset he is abysmal or he's mid and not much between based on how much they like dodging his big combo. The rest of the fight is not great, but his big combo with the horse I find really fun to dodge. He's still safely near the bottom of SOTE bosses, but closer to 4th or 5th worse than worse. I actually slightly prefer him to the Scadutree Avatar who is a mess of bad hit boxes, bad visual representation of attacks (the vine), and a bunch of "run away" attacks that are just boring. That's where I have my biggest disagreement with Demod's list. Messmer is simultaneously too high on the list for difficulty and too low on the list for quality for me. His damage is low enough that you can get through the fight without ever really learning a good chunk of it. But he's also a top 3 DLC boss for me. PCR is divisive, but I think the first half is too close to like S tier good to ever put him that low, especially after the fixes. Maybe Demod is especially photosensitive to the particle effects, so I can't speak to that. Gaius is inexcusably bad and very easily worst remembrance boss in either the base game or DLC for me.
He's always been like this, i came rather late to0 the channel, and he's allways been like this. He's an on and off again speedrunner who looks at things through the lens of abusing the hell out of the game mechanics. Nobody cared in his older videos because thats what they did too, because except for Elden Ring all the games had been out a while by the time the channel took off. Elden Ring is the first game where everyone is not on the same page so to speak.
Going through the comments and thinking back to Dmod's old videos, I think the main gripe people have with the Souls rankings is they're based on his builds and not the bosses in a vacuum. I remember the best Souls bosses remastered from 2018 had the same circumstances as these videos - Dmod knows a lot more than he did on playthrough 1 and is using an actually thought out build instead of something cobbled together on the journey. Despite that, he never commented on how his build or experience impacted boss difficulty because he looked at the difficulty through boss design and how it was built to handle different threats, not just his build. For example, I think saying Gaius is unfair isn't an unfair statement if he approached it from views like "he gets i-frames during his charge" or "he creates a landmine that harasses you while he's still harassing you" instead of "he's bad because I can't smooth-brain my way through" which is categorically false because he gets trappled by any weapon that can spam Sacred Blade, as can Putrescent Knight. Ranking boss difficulty or quality based on how little your build lets you think isn't fair when other builds can crush them just as easily and are as easily accessible due to the nature of the open world, respeccing and Ash of War flexibility. Promised Consort is painfully difficult, but he's difficult for almost the exact same reason Gael is difficult - biggest healthbar in the game, very long combos, and tracking magic attacks that force you to be aware of the area around the boss as well as the boss himself. Likewise, Radhan actually has some of the most consistent combo strings in all of Elden Ring, meaning you always know when a punish is incoming (also, calling it a lazy rehash of Starscourge when the smaller model forces engagement instead of running in circles to abuse a horse is stupid). Similarly, phase 2 has mostly the same moveset but with extra punishment if you mess up, meaning you should still know how to handle most of his moves. The shadow clones aren't just nuisances, they're functionally the same as Pontiff's ghost in DS3 - they warn and telegraph the attack that's about to come. Points of fair criticism for Radhan include how unintuitive it can feel to have to die to the descending shadow clones to get the count right before dodging real Radhan, or how getting caught in Phase two's starcaller cry feels like a death sentence, or how random the meteor hitbox can feel. Failing everything else, you can just block most of Radhan's attacks, especially the shadow clones, as they all deal minimal stamina damage, which means any build that uses a weapon that can block can do so, meaning anything that isn't bare fists or powerstancing, which, by Dmod's logic, is a fair point to make because I'm exploiting boss design and prior knowledge. Hell, you can argue the blocks are a good design choice because it encourages guard counter plays, unlike Malenia, who forces dodge-roll plays because she'll lifesteak through shields. All of this comes from fighting Radhan over a hundred times over a Str-int build, a dex-faith fire build, and a magic only frost mage build. It took me 3 days to beat him on my first character. It's fair to say he's overtuned, but saying he's overtuned just because one build can't decimate him is unfair. Gael also took me ages to defeat, and for years, it could take me as many as a dozen tries a character. That's not because he's unsuited to my specific build - his design is just that tough. This is how Dmod's videos used to be - assessing the bosses, not his own build. If he did a mage build, he'd be saying every boss has dog-water difficulty.
Late to the party here but I literally lost my mind when in the middle of a *boss ranking video* he’s like “Yeah I didn’t really have the ability/time to experience Messemer’s mechanics or fight, so I can’t comment on why everyone thinks he’s good.” Over footage of him spamming the same powerstanced great weapon attack over and over again. Like yeah dude no shit you didn’t get why the boss is enjoyable, you deliberately smooth-brained through it. Which is fine if you’re just playing the game how you want. But you can’t claim your video is “objectively ranking bosses by difficulty and quality” and then half of the bosses get some kind of comment on not seeing their whole moveset or not enjoying them because great weapon spamming made the fight too easy/too hard.
I swear its kinda insane how he calls putrescent the worst boss because of his aggresion, damage, and jump requirements; yet seems to adore godfrey. It's almost like he's judging his enjoyment based on which boss his spergmoid build can jump stagger the most!

I just feel like, being massively overleveled has to twisted this ranking lol. Like yea, your doing a quarter of a healthbar per hit, no shit it’s easy. If u learn the fight, post nerfs it’s one of the best dances in the entire game.
@@fearlessfailure2848 Trying to no hit him has skewed your prospective on his quality. No hitting him is extremely annoying because he has several low damage reaction check follow ups that are very hard to consistently avoid and the uneven terrain of his arena can make dodging some of his phase 2 attacks feel down right inconsistent. However, DeMod put several other bosses that are just as difficult to no hit as Radahn in tiers far above him (such as Metyr, Dancing Lion, and Malenia). Moreover, if you are just fighting Radahn casually post-nerf he is quite balanced and doesn’t feel nearly as unfairly oppressive as he did at launch. There are now reliable methods to avoid even his craziest attacks and the larger openings after many of his moves make the fight feel like an extremely fluid back and forth dance.
@@fearlessfailure2848that was probably before the nerf. Also, both destroying a boss, and no hitting a boss, can screw your perspective. @@jameslough6329 I definitely get what you're saying and I appreciate the response. However, while there are many bosses I've yet to no hit, I've no hit my top 5 several times: 1 Malenia, 2 Rellanna, 3 Messmer, 4 Midra, 5 Maliketh. All of those bosses I've come away with an even greater appreciation for them after no hitting them, especially Messmer. I've also done no hit runs on bosses I hated to try and understand why others. This approach worked for some of them: Godfrey, who I used to despise, I liked a lot more now after no hitting him on my last run of the game, to the point where he's probably in my top 10. Maliketh replaced Placidusax as my number 5 after my no hit victory with him. I tried to do the same with consort Raddan, who I beat before my no hit fight pre nerf (it definitely wasn't a no hit run, I had 0 flasks left out of 14 and about 25 hit points left lol). When he was nerfed I decided to give the fight a no hit victory, partly to see if I could but also to try and appreciate the boss more. It did not work, and I walked away despising the battle.
This ranking feels iffy for me I guess due to just bulldozing the fights rather than learning them. But hey, if it works it works. It just feels weird to judge the boss based off of whether you can barrel through them with little thought rather than if you can learn and dance with them and the factors that contribute to their difficulty.
Well that’s ER tho, no? It’s a game that’s designed around that sort of philosophy. Which is absolutely terrible imo, as the game is in a constant of self contradiction. Cause you can either try to go through the main content without wasting hours upon hours in a repetitive open world, which makes certain encounters unreasonably difficult, or you can do all of the side content you can lay your eyes on, which makes you completely overleveled, and that makes the bosses absolutely 0 fun. Having to balance your own growth in order to have a positive experience with a game is so fcking stupid I can’t adequately put it into words. Other than the fact that this game is extremely disappointing and poorly designed. But getting back to the main point, this ranking is made specifically from the perspective of abundant experience. To show how easy stuff is for veterans. I’m pretty sure he has a more traditional ranking video for both the base game and dlc on his channel tho
Absolutely. I really feel like Radahn is more a dance then .. in his words: "a cluster-f" Learning how to dodge and punish his small windows is a rewarding process. It feels amazing to pull off seamless dodge/attack/dodge/attack combos.
This list is only setup like it is because it's on lower NG cycles. If this was recorded in NG+7 the whole "trading damage" thing would have been a death sentence. This build only works as well as it does due to scaling, if you take that away, it's no better than most meta builds.
@ nah, it doesn’t. It’s an overly punishing visual clusterfck that is simply not fun in the slightest. Not to mention how lame and lazy it is to just reuse a previous boss as the final boss of the dlc
To provide some perspective as a Messmer enjoyer: he's basically a midway point in terms of speed between Nameless King and Friede, his punish windows are intuitive, and the buildup and vibes of his presence throughout the DLC make the encounter all the more sweet. when people say "he sets a new standard" I think what they mean is that Messmer feels like the truest Successor to the pace and balance of DS3 (which imo still boasts the best mechanical boss quality balanced with player capabilities in souls outside of Sekiro) whilst a lot of ER bosses feel like we skipped a game in terms of scaling from DS3, Messmer (and Midra, Godfrey, Radagon and Morgott if you make a point to not outscale him) feel like the correct step up from DS3, it's people looking at a boss that yes, by your metrics is an A tier encounter, but on feel they inuit and voice to fromsoft that THIS is the sweetspot, people flock to messmer for game feel, everything that promised consort gets wrong, messmer gets right so people love him.
Yeah throw Messmer into Ds3 and he fits right in. Not too sure about some of the other bosses you mentioned because they have delayed attacks and long windups which ds3 does not have much of
When you use a braindead build that doesnt require you to learn any fights, i dont think you really have the ability to accurately judge the difficulty of anything. What ive gathered from your ranking videos is that you play a ton of souls, but never really got gud.
While I didn't agree with most of this list, I was fine with it all because I understood the context of how you were rating them and it's your opinion so I wasn't going to comment at all. Then at the end I get to PCR at number one and listen to you say "I find no joy in brute forcing my way to a win". Now come on man, you've got to understand how that makes the entire list hypocritical and basically invalid at that point because it's the way you rated every boss on the list. You weren't learning any of the bosses at all, just brute forcing through every single one of them. This is the reason most comments are saying your rating for the difficulty and quality of each boss are vastly different than most people who played the game. This is also why it makes it so strange to hear you complain about how easily you defeat some of them as well, but then when you reach a boss that you couldnt blow through in one try it makes it bad then? You are a long time souls player and knew prior to playing what that build would do in the game, but if it doesn't give you any joy to brute force them why would you use such an OP build in the first place?
I'm happy you did this ranking for two reasons: 1) You really worked to turn your channel back around and I'm loving the new direction. I honestly cannot wait to continue watching your new series. Loved the first video. Feels good to see you get back in touch with why you started this channel. 2) This video also confirms your Elden Ring opinions will never align with mine. But that's fine! Your opinions are yours alone. Don't let the loud majority get you down. (I do agree Scadutree Avatar is a great boss, though!)
How are you gonna rank rellana so low when you fight her so late… if you fight her after dancing lion she’s easily top 5 in difficulty. Also describing mesmmer as not having rhythm is a confusing take to say the least.
Bro you have so many hot takes (most i hate) , but messmer not being one of the best is shocking , his fight is perfect and the best in this whole game , on my first play through i fought him underleveled (around 6 scoby trees frags) yet i didn't feel he is unfair , yes he took me hours but for every death i learned something , for every death i said oh next time i will try to avoid this error , in my whole fights from FS games he is the only one i chose to fight him underleveled because of how fun he is
I will say it very briefly and clearly - giving SSS to Malenia and at the same time A to Messmer, Godfrey or Bale is bullshit. Like 70% of your rating. Once upon a time, your arguments were much more convincing. The golden years have passed, it seems.
I think it might be the Sekiro experience, but Gaius has always just felt like Gyobu to me. A little erratic, but just chip away at him and be patient and I’ve felt he becomes easier.
Some of Gaius' attacks utilize Gyobu's animations, that makes getting the timings easier. If you play these games for long enough, the reused animations, models and assets become apparent. Asylum demon's ass is practically a trademark at this point
@@pedrolantyer I always wondered if that was the case lol. I'm not a dataminer so I wasn't sure, but that explains why he clicked for me. He was just my first boss all over again

Messmer does everything better then Malenia. You should rank bosses by how good and difficult they are in general. Not how easily your build trivializes them
I understand what you’re saying and overall I agree, but it’s a lot harder than I think you realize since certain builds can trivialize certain bosses but struggle with others. For example, a full long-range spellcaster build can obliterate mohg in seconds before he even reaches you, but gets completely stonewalled by radagon due to his spell party. Conversely, a melee build centred around fire damage will destroy radagon, but good luck against the fire giant. I generally agree with what you’re saying, and even as a malenia enjoyer I think messmer is way better ( and the best boss in the game) but it’s hard to not rank things based on your build when your build influences so much of the game’s difficulty.
Hard disagree, frankly. Aside from being almost entirely trivialized by a single Ash of War, Messmer only has like... one combo and that's it. Then his second phase changes basically nothing except adding some almost entirely superfluous thrust attacks, a bunch of snake attacks that are all HUGE vulnerability phases, and an ultimate attack that you basically can't roll through and are also *forced* to run away from because it has a damage aura. At least with Waterfoul you could dodge it up close with enough skill and game knowledge, with Messmer's big giant snake fuck portal you HAVE to run away.
What is scadutree doing above maliketh, mohg, Midra, Godfrey, Bayle, messmer, both radahns, morgott and rellana? This is literally "what is Polar Bear doing in Arlington Texas?"
people need to honestly grow up about radahn seriously, was everyone expecting godwyn yeah, but just because the final boss wasn't a character YOU wanted (which would make no sense in the lore) doesn't mean it's a bad decision. Miyazaki said that the dlc was planned to be in the base game, now knowing this alot of the lore does point to a radahn resurrection at the hands of miquella, ofcourse before the DLC we had no idea this was going to happen, BUT thats because it was cut, if the DLC was released on launch no one would care, everyone would look at the lore and say that it points to radahn, people are just butthurt that a fan theory was proven wrong. Is the boss diffculty yes, can you learn it YES, people seem to be under a spell and say you can only win using luck. If you choose to dodge into the lasers you get hit so don't..... don't roll into the laser's and its the first phase all over again, people are just so braindead saying phase 1 is amazing but phase 2 is dogshit just because of some visuals? despite them being extremely simlar but the difference is there is now there low damaging lasers that trail attacks.... really? thats people complaint? Gael has this and hes considered one of the best bosses ever because people learn to not dodge to where the swing was and to dodge through it and guess what? gaels cape convering his whole body is alot more visual intrusive than some small laser beams covering parts of radahn's body, Lady maria one of the best rated boss of bloodborne also does this in her second phase, Pontiff another well received boss does this but just the weak attack first, he even does the whole weak clone attacks first so the player can see what attacks coming, something players loved BUT HATED for radahn when it was done the same way because they didn't understand it.
Not here for a fight, I absolutely love Radahn. But Godwyn would fit so much better, Miquella is mind controlling douchebag, having illusion of one of the most "friendly" characters in the lore as a boss fight and desecrating his body would be perfect villain arc to show Miqy is just another power hungry idiot. The only nice guy in the entire setting gets murdered by his idiot sister after being betrayed by their idiot mother and now his idiot brother rapes his corpse to become a god while making his soul fight someone whos just trying to fix the entire issue. That sounds like perfect Fromsoft plot to me xD

Everyone of his new rankings was specifically coming from that of a veteran who’s played these bosses more than a souls casual, as such why wouldn’t he play the game that exact way, and it is “his” opinion at the end of the day and if doing one of many “Bonk” strats isn’t a proper way to rank the bosses, than what is objectively the correct way to fight bosses.
@@Guard1an_Nun It's his final comments toward Consort Radahn that really make this video baffling. "I don't want to brute force my way through a boss feeling as if I learned nothing and only win because I got lucky". He says in a video where he intentionally overlevels himself to an absurd degree where he's able to brute force head empty face tank most of the game and admits he tanked Mohg's difficulty ranking due to getting lucky in his fight. That just comes off as massive hypocricy in a video like this
@ And I repeat again “Ok…and”. This still doesn’t answer the point of the original comment on this thread; which is on difficulty. What you’re defining would only apply to quality, which is always going to be subjective. If trading damage with a strength build isn’t a way to rank bosses on difficulty than I ask again. “What is the objective way to rank these bosses” isn’t one of the many reasons why Elden Ring is so good its build variety and there being multiple answers to solve most of these bosses. The point of which I’m trying to get at is, isn’t boss difficulty also subjective. If you wanted to argue godskin duo being ranked so low because of a cheese strat I’d understand that. But you’re chasing an argument that is based almost entirely on who’s playing the game.
Based on your previous rankings I was kinda expecting Malenia to be #25 and Margit #3... It didn't reach that ridiculousness but was not so far either. Honestly, as many people here I don't understand your rankings anymore.
I've got to agree with you. I think what it really comes down to is DeMod wasn't that thoughtful with the criteria on how he was ranking these bosses, in quality OR in difficulty. And I also think him trying to rank both at the same time was a mistake.
A difficulty ranking works here, but a quality ranking makes 0 sense at all. Doing a quality ranking while doing an OP build that makes it so you don’t have to put any effort into any boss or have to learn the actual moves makes the quality ranking ass. Quality shouldn’t be rated by how easily you can trivialise it
Honestly, if you do not curbstomp Ofnir as quickly as possible he CAN make his fight a bit crazy. His damage can be a bit scary if he unleashes his arsenal. Edit to say that Godfrey is a pain in vers 1.0. He has TWO health bars and he is not so slow as heis in later versions.
Great video Dmod, I've enjoyed your content over the years even when I didn't agree with every take you had. I do want to say I would appreciate if you mentioned the quality ranking, I know it's on screen but I tend to listen to videos while working on other things so it would be helpful to the listening experience. Looking forward to more! Edit: Oops nevermind I just realized I was confusing the tier rankings at the end for difficulty rankings.
What makes Consort Radahn so mind numbingly difficult is the resistance buff he gets in phase 2, which makes the fight more of a slog than it should be.
@earthnugget7881 He has high resistance to most status effects, like frostbite, in P2. Sure, he may not be immune, but he has enough resistance to be close enough.
He gets a stupid boost on rot resist in phase 2. Phase 1 I can rot him in 1 stamina bar. Phase 2 if no one else is trying to rot him I won't get it to proc until he is at 5% hp it's not hard when you understand his one weakness to Shields get moore's shield ant spur Rapier+25 with bleed use every hole negation talisman scholar Shield Lourdes Divine fortification and alot of stamina
He's whining about having to learn the DLC movesets when he can't just brute force them with endgame stats and gear. DMod is just Joseph Anderson this entire video
I disagree with almost every quality placement but that's probably because I don't tank hits like you do and actually try to no damage almost every boss. Maybe Radahn wasn't fun to learn for you but for me personally it was a good challenge, aside from the infamous double slash that got nerfed thankfully. And I personally don't like cheesing bosses and prefer fighting them at a proper level. I am at least happy you put Malenia as your favorite boss, although I personally think Messmer or Bayle is my favorite. Malenia is definitely in my top ten favorites in any fromsoft game. The only issue was waterfowl and I only thought she was good on my first playthrough. Like you demod I've grown to appreciate her design with each playthrough and have mastered dodging her waterfowl to the point where it's not so bad. Beating her no damage was when I finally started to love her fight.
I’m sorry I had to dislike this list, no way I can allow a list with 2 gimmicks bosses in double ss tier will messmer a better malina and rellana the perfect dual boss is put bellow guidon.
Malenia & Radahn, Consort of Miquella both are messy fights with much better areas leading up to their encounter. Bayle is the boss I’ll remember from Elden Ring. Best Dragon boss in the series.
Pc radahn I get but malenia is a very good fight even though it is diificult but it's still very fun to fight her Also how dare you disrespect ancient wyvern that is the best boss miyazaki ever thought of? 😡
Also I will say, a lot of your takes on Bayle were ones that I shared for the first handful of attempts I had on him. But after deciding to sit down and learn his moveset enough to hitless him, I found that his openings, while brief, were well suited to even slow melee weapon strikes (two handed great ax) I don’t know why the argument is made against solely going for the head on fights like him or Midir, the fight is so much more fun, balanced, and cinematic when go for those headshots at the end of his combos. I would give him another shot, because he is EASILY the best dragon fight they’ve ever made when approached head on.
While I don’t agree with a few of your takes Demod I do respect how you stand behind the bosses you love. I personally would t give Sunny the Sunflower SS tier but if you enjoyed the fight you have every right to place it there! Love your vids man I personally really like Promised Consort Radahn. My first time through the DLC was pre nerf and an absolute ass kicking, where I was the recipient of the ass kickinh. But that moment where it “clicked” for me (around attempt 17) was a tremendous feeling. I was dodging attacks I thought were undodgeable, and finally beating him. The feeling after beating him was legendary and I’ll never forget it. That’s why for me he is in my top three Elden Ring bosses right behind Malaketh and Mohg.
Rusty and this guy have some of the craziest takes place recently. To each his own, but imo this ranking and tierlist was garbage and hypocritical. I genuinely cannot understand how you came to some of these ridiculous conclusions.
I seems kinda ironic that at the end you talked about how you don't like brute forcing bosses when it looks like you essentially brute forced oonga boonga'ed every boss you could lol
Well I disagree with some of a lot of the ranking (Elden Beast should be lower and Rykard is also one of the most overrated bosses in the series) but at least you put Fortisax in F, that fight sucks compared to Midir and Bayle. But Messmer not in S and Putrescent Knight in F is among some of the most confusing things I’ve seen in an ER boss ranking. But to each their own.
I also understand your Bayle take, I use not to like him that much but once you face him more I think you’ll love him. Yes, the camera sucks and his head is too small, but his moveset is amazing. He’s not perfect but his highs surpass the lows.
@@GrotesqueCaveman he’s also ranking the quality. Hence the F-SSS tiers. He said Radahn is the Hardest but put him in D tier, Malenia was the second hardest but she was in SSS tier. So there are two rankings, the numbered one is difficultly based and the F-SSS is the quality based one.
that was after he learnt the boss to a tea. not his first time fighting her. Recently i bet her on my second attempt without using anything overpowered or summoning, only cause ive done the boss so much that i know her fight well
Fun fact in Mesmers opening attack he flashes white. Dodge when that happens and you’ll evade his first attack he has one more tell on the AOI that you can dodge then you can get some good damage on him. you can see the white flash at 26:51
I can easily say some fights that SHOULD be easy or thrilling can be very annoying due solely to the camera. The dragons, dancing lion, and golden hippo are good examples
Dude, I used to love your content back in 2016 with with the boss rankings of the old souls games, I didn't always agree with your takes but at least you had some good things to say, let alone you never had any absurd takes that just reeked of engagement baiting like the last few videos. Putting romina above literally any other late game boss is crazy, putting scadutree avatar as the third best boss is literally so shit. Like you are entitled to your own opinion but when you refuse to learn bosses properly and perfect them and just curb stomp your way to victory instead your ranking is fundamentally flawed.
I feel like this list doesn't hold a lot of weight because it would look completely different if you just chose to route the game differently. Would Godfrey and Radabeast really be in the back half if you attempted them before the DLC? Would Rykard be lower if you just held off on his fight until you had a ton of vigor?
Definitely one of the hardest bosses to no hit. Clergyman just hits like a wet tissue compared to other bosses so you can trade hits without being punished
I actually beat Radahn once with Ansbach and Thiollier still alive and I was kind of jumping for joy figuring I might get post fight dialogue from them. But alas, despite clearly seeing them still standing when the twink and his simp fell, I found their corpses right where they always were.
I no hit the guy, and personally I'd put him in F tier. Consort and Radabeast are the only bosses I've no hit and left with an even greater hatred of them (and Romina, due to that 2nd phase change with 0 tell). Malenia, Maliketh, Godfrey, Rellanna, Midra, and Messmer are bosses I've no hit and enjoyed even more afterwards.
Nah, he's had some wild takes across this whole ranking (i.e.: I liked sunflower fine, but I wouldn't rank it THAT high and, while not exactly great, by no means is Putrescent F-tier bad imo), but his take on PCR is one I'm 100% on board with, especially with per-nerf version in mind. Malenia was a much more satisfiying hard boss to overcome, each gimmick that could feel cheap on its own and yet it all came together in one hell of an oddly balanced learning curve to overcome. PCR felt like a fluke when I did beat him and was more frustrating than anything else. When a boss felt so poorly balanced in his 2nd phase it killed my desire for further revisits for a long while AND require nerfs that really should've been in the DLC day one, you know it's not as well put together as Malenia is as a fun type of hard fight. P.S.: This is one ranking that could benefit from a do-over much later on, particularly for the DLC bosses.
@@Melchior237 Imo it's at most a bottom of A tier boss for me. I value skill and build expression a lot in ER's boss roster and Radahn limits you to very few ways to play the game. He punishes ranged combat way too hard with input reads and shuts down any attempt at doing any defensive option besides roll because of excessive hitboxes and tracking, very unlike the rest of the bosses.
you are so right about the contrast between Melania and her brother, the final fight is hard but just unfun, while i was so invested in defeating the god of rot
I might be Stockholm syndromed, but I actually find Promised Consort Radahn really really good. His first phase is probably the best "big dude in armor" fight they have cooked up, and the second phase is so bonkers and over-the-top that I can't help but to love it. I've beaten the DLC 7 seven times on my own, and have helped dozens online to take the big guy and his brother down. I wouldn't have done that if I did not think the fight is spectacular. And to top it off, his soundtrack is top 5 Fromsoft soundtracks material as well!
You spent most of the video prefacing every boss by saying you’ve heard they have tougher attacks but you clobbered them before you could see them. I understand this a ranking based on your personal experiences with these bosses how could you judge “quality” without even knowing what they each have to offer?
I disagree with a lot, but honestly i'm glad you gave your honest opinions. Fromsoftware fandom is way too much of an echo chamber as is. This is a very interesting take on the bosses which feels like it isn't really influenced much by popular opinion, cause nowadays most of these tierlists are predictable. However, from the footage I saw, I think that ur build didn't really give some of the bosses a chance to show what they were capable of.
Mohg and Godfrey are criminally low. Also, every single one of your ranking videos are just you hitting every single boss with the most op weapon possible then calling them cheap and easy.
the blatant overlevel doesn't help either, Messmer handed his ass and he cried like a baby, that last of A ranking is criminal. The fact that he couln't just tank his hits and spam roll all over his serpents attacks made him hate the best boss in the game. It's not even that hard, I beat him on the third try, pratically learning all his timings in that time
I think the series has shown has easy the Souls games are if you know what you are doing. After playing all of them over and over again, I think I and a lot of veterans have realized that we can stomp any boss if we wanted to (even doing melee only). Is this how I want to play the game? Hell no. But the ranking is kinda valuable.
They are easy even without OP weapons. Mohg is well telegraphed and really easy to dodge same goes for Godfrey, plus he is also dragged down by the fact that he has many scripted attack where he becomes a damage sponge.
DeMod I just wanna say as a long time viewer of the channel. I really appreciate you staying honest to your opinions and being true to yourself. Even when you know it’ll piss people off. Great ranking! Can’t wait to see more!
Messmer is my favorite dlc boss, and second only to malenia for all of elden ring. He just feels so rewarding when you learn the strings and dodge then punish bc you know what continuations he has from everything. Also his flying poking floor explosion is a mini waterfowl of 2 dodges a strafe and a dodge for a guaranteed punish. And his aesthetic lore is all premo. Such a great boss
Hey, Demod, a suggestion: you should do the boss lists again but at SL1. Try them out when you're at the most underleveled possible. After doing SL1 of all games my appreciation for some bosses really increased because you can truly see how well crafted their fights are. Cheers.
I really enjoyed this. Obviously I'm not going to agree with all of the picks, but who cares? It's well-argued, especially in terms of the specific playthrough with specific tactics. It's well-edited and fun to watch. Keep up the great work
I hope future fromsoft games do away with item/spell buffs and not having a real level cap. It really trivializes most of the bosses in this game. Shame cause I would argue Elden Ring has the best bosses/movement in the series.
I too hope their design philosophy will change in future entries. Tho I disagree about ER having the best bosses, since I think the vast majority have an overtuned moveset that makes their fights unenjoyable
The thing I don’t understand in ranking boss fights is how come cheesing a boss plays into their ranking?? Shouldn’t it be about their different move sets/other qualities that make up a boss instead of…how easily can I cheese?
Putting Scadutree avatar above Messmer, Maliketh, Midra and Bayle is insane but what you did to Rellana is some of the wildest shit I’ve seen in a ranking
Problem with this list is your sheer reluctance to change your style of play to what boss youre fighting. Just pointlessly headbutting bosses and then moaning because youre getting hit and giving bad ratings is just ignorance. Have a Dex playthrough and youre list will probably turned upside down
I'm sorry to read that so many of the comments are criticising you because their opinions disagree with yours. I wouldn't agree with your placements either, but that's why i appreciate your videos. It's a fresh take with detailed and well-explained reasoning. After all, what's the point of a ranking list? Just to have my own thoughts validated and confirmed? Where's the interest in that? Please keep making videos according to your views, they remain engaging all these years later.
Legit every vid you've made on Elden Ring has shown footage of a generic Strength build that doesn't use weapon skills in favor of jump attacks and roll-light spams. Your first boss ranking was just Golden Halberd, which is just the first beat-stick the game hands you. This wasn't a boss difficulty ranking. This was a build efficiency ranking. You made a late-game strength build, the only kind of build you ever use in your content, and ranked how much bosses punish your shallow playstyle. Then you added quality tiers but had wholly inconsistent criteria through the vid. But I can't comment on that because that's an opinion. You're entitled to that as much as anyone else. But for f's sake. If you're making a subjective quality list, that's one thing. But when your difficulty ranking is also completely subjective because you're basing it on one playthrough, with one build, and not on the actual boss and how it interacts with various builds, mechanics, placements within the game, then don't bother. This is the same build-of-the-week clickbait stuff that other channels churned out a year after the game released, masquerading as your better content from years ago. You already made a vid apologizing for constant negativity, then proceeded at every turn to show that not only are you being unnecessarily critical, your criticism is so shallow that it's almost bad faith. You're better than this, and I don't know how to help you realize that. But you're gonna kill your following with the community even more than you already were with content like this.
I mean, everybody is entitled to their opinions but complaining that overcoming the challenge of Radahn isn't fun while rating other bosses highly while actively overscaling to make them easy, which sounds like the least fun experience I could ever have in Elden Ring, is an interesting point of view.
I think what this video teaches us more than anything is that the most OP strat is not the most enjoyable, and so ranking the bosses both by difficulty and enjoyment in a single video is simply not a good idea. Especially considering that Elden Ring has the most diverse builds out of any of the games in the franchise, and I think dual wielding Great Stars is by far the least enjoyable build you could've done for a big reason I recall you mentioning twice in the video. "I didn't feel like I earned the victory." I strongly recommend trying different builds to have a more balanced perspective whenever you find the time. Instead of a slow strength-bleed build, maybe go for something with faster swings like a katana or twinblades. Maybe instead of dual wielding, you two-hand a single weapon. The possibilities are endless, and you might find yourself enjoying the fan-favourite bosses a lot more
The fact that you gave Scadutree avatar SS tier while Messmer and Bayle A is crazy.
Brother put consort in D after cross slash got fixed, Rellana in B, morgott in B, i could go on but we get the point.
and giving malenia sss ...

Yeah that’s why you don’t rank based on “cheeseability” bc it strictly relies on YOUR knowledge and IF you know how to cheese them.
Even with sleep that shit is hard right next to the two gargoyles in surprised I beat them

You have got to be trolling.
Killing Mohg before he gets to his second phase is easy, sounds like a skill issue brother
@reddnerd2449 it's not that it's that he's judging his difficulty based on his build, not the boss.

Brother will do anything except learn the damn boss.
Agreed! Especially his video before this where he ranks games that he admittedly only plays for 2 hours. Totally useless video
If you judge the quality of a video based on how much you agree with the overall ranking, then you're not actually interested in the analysis, you just want your opinion validated.
That analysis was not good either imo.
What he is doing is making a ranking list as someone who only watches youtube build videos and does not actually play the game
@@Orion_Mr.Starlight Yeah, I just don't see what purpose these rankings serve. His previous rankings were informative for new players to some extent. These just seem like content for content's sake.
broski is spitting
Rather to give him some credit, maybe he doesn't always want to just trade and bang, but he wants Elden Ring bosses to fight like Dark Souls bosses, when a boss forces you to fight on their terms it ruffles some feathers, people don't like it when it's not very intuitive and easy, and when it's not they at least want to be able to 'tank and spank'
Elden Ring difficulty discussions are pointless because it 90% depends on what build you use and your playstyle.
It's not that deep.
Your intellect isn't. The OP is totally valid. @@anonisnoone6125

Doesn't excuse the quality ranking. What was brother on and where do i get it?
I don't really like listing something like the godskins as easy because of items - alot of things in the game are countered by items or build. Personally I don't like using sleep because... IDK, I'm no RP'er, but I just don't want to beat stuff by sleeping them out
@ I never used sleep. I was once curious and checked the wiki, and only the Godskins + a few bosses are even affected by it, so its mostly useless
This is just my opinion after about 1000 hours in the game, nothing more:
S: Messmer, Starscourge Radahn, Bayle, Morgott, Mohg, Godfrey
A: Rellana, Godrick, Radabeast, Midra, Maliketh
B: Malenia, Putrescent, Divine Beast
C: Romina, Regal, Consort Radahn
D: Astel, Rykard, Rennala, Fortissax, Placidusax, Scadutree, Gaius
F: Metyr, Godskins, Fire Giant
I disagree with almost every placement on this list but it’s your list so you do you man.
This is a page of stuff that he will probably never read
@@pressy6612yeah I wish he did
Late to the party here but I literally lost my mind when in the middle of a *boss ranking video* he’s like “Yeah I didn’t really have the ability/time to experience Messemer’s mechanics or fight, so I can’t comment on why everyone thinks he’s good.” Over footage of him spamming the same powerstanced great weapon attack over and over again.
@@jeremyvanauken5011 yeah I just wish he could see it from our perspectives

@ at least these were believable, lmao.
this channel has progressively become a parody of itself. his takes are generally bad, and his scriptwriting is equally so.
Wait, he’s giving unique and interesting takes that doesn’t just agree with the community and its “trolling”?
Respect for standing on your own opinion. Absolutely wild tier list tho lmao.
The title is misleading, it should be "ungabunga build - braindead gameplay and skill issue ranking"
I swear its kinda insane how he calls putrescent the worst boss because of his aggresion, damage, and jump requirements; yet seems to adore godfrey. It's almost like he's judging his enjoyment based on which boss his spergmoid build can jump stagger the most!
@@Not_CrazyKiller The difference is Godfrey is stupidly fun to fight and has a super fun moveset with amazing lore and buildup. Putrescent knight is an annoyance that runs away after most attacks and makes the fight drag a lot. To be clear, I'm not defending the tier list, he has some god awful opinions and even worse gameplay, but I totally see where he's coming from with that boss specifically
Big bonk build is so much more fun than any of the builds where you just flail around a weebstick tho.
lmao
@@hybrid5860 he's wrong about Putrescent Knight though. His complaints are the same ones I had my first three attempts at the fight. I then realized my initial impressions were WRONG once I learned his patterns and how to position against him. He has PLENTY of openings. That's DeMod's problem throughout this entire video: he NEVER learns the attack patterns of the bosses. He's ranking the bosses based on how they feel to Unga Bunga with no thought or learning required.
Genuinely I disagree with your fromsoft takes more and more as the years go by, I miss looking back at your old rankings 😭
Rare instance where "bro fell off" is justified.
I loved his old videos, but his SoTE takes have been awful since the start.
I unsubscribed due to this attitude of "I am analyzing things very logically", but then he ends up not being coherent and his rankings dont make sense.
Giving SS rank to Scadutree avatar while only A rank to Messmer and Bayle because they were too easy...
I really dont understand how someone can fall off this hard just because of one DLC
Oh no someone had different opinions than me! That must mean they fell off. Get over yourself.
@@pennygirl015 the backlash his SoTE video got prove that I'm not the only one thinking so. Do you just watch things to agree with what they say?
I just feel like, being massively overleveled has to twisted this ranking lol. Like yea, your doing a quarter of a healthbar per hit, no shit it’s easy. It doesn’t feel like boss design has been taken into account at all, b/c…well… you’re not seeing it’s design.
It’s like killing everything with comet azure and then claiming the hardest boss is the only one that didn’t get one shot
Edits:
- Scadutree avatar in double S might be one of the most awful placements in any ranking.
- Gaius getting D b/c he couldn’t get unga-bunga’d is ridiculous
- Radahn Consort getting a D again, cause he’a too hard for someone who does nothing but spam jump attacks and panic rolls. If u learn the fight, post nerfs it’s one of the best dances in the entire game.
I no hit consort Raddan in my 2nd run through the DLC after 20+ hours of attempts, and I would put him in F tier.
Seriously, I like Scadutree avatar but SS??
@@fearlessfailure2848that was probably before the nerf. Also, both destroying a boss, and no hitting a boss, can screw your perspective. You have to have a balanced attempt of the boss to truly understand what it’s like. Also, after the nerf, no hitting is MUCH more manageable now and not nearly as frustrating
Absolutely. My mind's blown by this list. Having Loretta so high and Mohg low proves it 😂
To provide some perspective as a Messmer enjoyer:
he's basically a midway point in terms of speed between Nameless King and Friede, his punish windows are intuitive, and the buildup and vibes of his presence throughout the DLC make the encounter all the more sweet. when people say "he sets a new standard" I think what they mean is that Messmer feels like the truest Successor to the pace and balance of DS3 (which imo still boasts the best mechanical boss quality balanced with player capabilities in souls outside of Sekiro) whilst a lot of ER bosses feel like we skipped a game in terms of scaling from DS3, Messmer (and Midra, Godfrey, Radagon and Morgott if you make a point to not outscale him) feel like the correct step up from DS3, it's people looking at a boss that yes, by your metrics is an A tier encounter, but on feel they inuit and voice to fromsoft that THIS is the sweetspot, people flock to messmer for game feel, everything that promised consort gets wrong, messmer gets right so people love him.
Yeah throw Messmer into Ds3 and he fits right in. Not too sure about some of the other bosses you mentioned because they have delayed attacks and long windups which ds3 does not have much of
@pinnacalada9448 Nameless kinda wrote the book on offbeat delays, dude still gives me the business every time I play DS3
Yeah, messmer not being at least s tier is crazy. He is easily my favorite boss in all of Elden ring
This is one of the worst tier lists I have ever seen for a souls boss review 😭

@@Finnti3Now that right there is correct
I'm happy you did this ranking for two reasons:
1) You really worked to turn your channel back around and I'm loving the new direction.
(I do agree Scadutree Avatar is a great boss, though!)
finally a reasonable and respectful person in this comment section.
People take video game opinions way too personally.
Holy moly a reasonable take on this video
Is Astel harder than radagon/elden beast? Wtf

Brother in 2019 I watched every single one of your souls rank videos. Even when u started ranking areas. Love u man
I love the Gideon fight. To have such an overtly arrogant and condescending enemy go down like a chump is both hilarious and immensely satisfying.
Messmer does everything better then Malenia. You should rank bosses by how good and difficult they are in general. Not how easily your build trivializes them
Except bosses difficulty varies greatly depending on your build... There's not some objective metric for bosses.
@Sarnatuile precisely what I said
I understand what you’re saying and overall I agree, but it’s a lot harder than I think you realize since certain builds can trivialize certain bosses but struggle with others.
I just didn't like it
Not here for a fight, I absolutely love Radahn.
That sounds like perfect Fromsoft plot to me xD
more like easiest to hardest with braindead unga-bunga build
Ok…And?
@@Guard1an_NunHe's massively overlevelled himself and his weapons, AND using double Great Stars to bleed everything to death. How can you possibly make a good difficulty ranking with a setup that absurd?
@@armedweiss5531 isn’t the the whole reason of this new set of rankings entirely meant for that exact reason.
Yeah I always let him monologue it makes the fight actually pretty fun
Great video Dmod, I've enjoyed your content over the years even when I didn't agree with every take you had. I do want to say I would appreciate if you mentioned the quality ranking, I know it's on screen but I tend to listen to videos while working on other things so it would be helpful to the listening experience. Looking forward to more!
Edit: Oops nevermind I just realized I was confusing the tier rankings at the end for difficulty rankings.
What makes Consort Radahn so mind numbingly difficult is the resistance buff he gets in phase 2, which makes the fight more of a slog than it should be.

Jesus Christ, it’s Joseph Anderson
Unfortunately this is very accurate
@ yeah, sadly
Pc radahn I get but malenia is a very good fight even though it is diificult but it's still very fun to fight her
Also how dare you disrespect ancient wyvern that is the best boss miyazaki ever thought of?
😡
Malenia is a fantastic boss, and her arena is awesome.
@@Gustav-fring Ancient Wyvern? Isn't that the giant lizard in the background of the Axe & Chain bossfight on the bridge?
Love your vids man
I personally really like Promised Consort Radahn.
Yes but rusty is funny so he gets a pass imo
I'm pretty sure he's ranking the difficulty of the bosses, not the quality
@@GrotesqueCaveman he’s also ranking the quality. Hence the F-SSS tiers. He said Radahn is the Hardest but put him in D tier, Malenia was the second hardest but she was in SSS tier. So there are two rankings, the numbered one is difficultly based and the F-SSS is the quality based one.
Think part of the issue is putting radagon with elden beast. I like both, but I would personally rank them separately.
Messmer not being in S is a crime. But Putresent Knight deserves to be in F tier. So does Scadutree Avatar but somehow that thing got put in S tier.
I've really enjoyed this ranking series. It's nice to see a different perspective on boss fights in games I love. Keep it up
I do not believe for one second that he beat Malenia in 4 attempts.
that was after he learnt the boss to a tea. not his first time fighting her.
Like you are entitled to your own opinion but when you refuse to learn bosses properly and perfect them and just curb stomp your way to victory instead your ranking is fundamentally flawed.
dude that ranking was weird... still dont understand if its based on difficulty or preferences.
I feel like this list doesn't hold a lot of weight because it would look completely different if you just chose to route the game differently. Would Godfrey and Radabeast really be in the back half if you attempted them before the DLC? Would Rykard be lower if you just held off on his fight until you had a ton of vigor?
Scadutree Avatar in SS tier is the hottest of takes.
Clergyman was weirdly one of the hardest for me
Clergyman is surprisingly hard to read sometimes. Idk what the deal with him is, maybe it’s the coat, I’ve just never been good at it either lol
in my first playthrought I felt the same way, on my 2nd I demolished him
Definitely one of the hardest bosses to no hit.
Promised Consort in D tier is crazy to me. That boss is an easy S tier at the very least.
They fixed the one BS move and brother is still malding
Putrescent Knight as the fourth most difficult boss in all of Elden Ring is crazy work
What a dog water tier list lmao. This entire revisit ranking series has been straight up cheeks Demod.
Listen DeMod. Lay off the damn edibles the next time you make a boss ranking. You’re so zooled it’s like not even FUNNY. Like what the HECK my guy?
That’s kind of the point of this recent ranking of the souls games
the blatant overlevel doesn't help either, Messmer handed his ass and he cried like a baby, that last of A ranking is criminal. The fact that he couln't just tank his hits and spam roll all over his serpents attacks made him hate the best boss in the game. It's not even that hard, I beat him on the third try, pratically learning all his timings in that time
@@bardockshiny cope harder bozo
Cheers.
I gave up after he called Midir the hardest fight in ds3 and then proceeded to run at his toes while getting hit with breath attacks..
It was fun watching you go thru these games with a more meticulous comb. Thanks for making these vids 🙏😃
Happy to see malenia get the appreciation she deserves truly best boss
Ahh I can't watch these anymore man it's just depressing at this point.
I really enjoyed this. Obviously I'm not going to agree with all of the picks, but who cares? It's well-argued, especially in terms of the specific playthrough with specific tactics. It's well-edited and fun to watch. Keep up the great work
All love DEMOD! Keep it up man, genuinely can’t stop looking forward to each video 🫶
Please keep up these absurd tier lists. What shakanerous takes will blud have next.
Glad I’m not the only one who likes the Elden Beast and the Scadutree avatar.
Messmer is so overrated.
And yeah Promised Consort was BS
Shame aboutthe poor Lich Dragon, I enjoy that fight a lot.
I’m beginning to think that you don’t even like these games
The thing I don’t understand in ranking boss fights is how come cheesing a boss plays into their ranking?? Shouldn’t it be about their different move sets/other qualities that make up a boss instead of…how easily can I cheese?
Putting Scadutree avatar above Messmer, Maliketh, Midra and Bayle is insane but what you did to Rellana is some of the wildest shit I’ve seen in a ranking
Couple of thing I personally disagree with but overall, really enjoyable ranking. Lookin forward to the next game review rankings.
Promised Consort literally made me feel like I was clocking in to work, and I’m a n00b that uses summons
Problem with this list is your sheer reluctance to change your style of play to what boss youre fighting. Just pointlessly headbutting bosses and then moaning because youre getting hit and giving bad ratings is just ignorance. Have a Dex playthrough and youre list will probably turned upside down
Dude this guy sounds so drained and sad listen to his earlier videos and wow he used to be full of energy
@@kyojurorengoku7146 agreed. Hes so jadet now
I'm sorry to read that so many of the comments are criticising you because their opinions disagree with yours.
12:36 Is it already april fools where you live ?
This list is a crime against humanity.
