- Doom: The Dark Ages is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is intended to be the eighth main entry in the Doom franchise and the third installment of the modern series. It narratively serves as a prequel to Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal (2020), taking place in a kingdom during the Middle Ages and depicting the origin story of the Doom Slayer as he fights to protect the land from the forces of Hell. It will be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.

Naw this is Doomguy BECOMING the Doom Slayer
Canonically doomguy from the original 1993 game went back to hell after doom 2 to keep slaying demons, and then in doom eternal we learn that he was found by the seraphim or whatever, and they turned him into the doom slayer
this is between DOOM 64 and 2016 btw, if you read the codex in Eternal this game is set during the Slayers time on Argent D’nur while hes working w the Night Sentinels. chances are the “twists” Huge was talking about was the Slayers betrayal by the Sentinels.

It's audio from the first modern game(2016). You go to hell and there's these plaque-like things you can interact with called "slayers testament" and I believe it's either an unnamed demon or the dark lord himself.
