A friend of mine bought a Bronco Sport Badlands when they were first introduced, and he raves about it. I can now understand why. As always, Steve, great job with your overview! This is why I keep coming back to your channel.
Just traded my 22 Sasquatch outer Banks big Bronco for a 2024 Badlands and love the 2.0 ecoboost engine. My wife's 22 Maverick has the 2.0 and is smooth and enough power to pull our 3000 pound boat and trailer with the 4k tow package. But my new Badlands is a great driving vehicle. I bought the atlas blue. No disappointments at all and getting 30mpg just like my wife's Maverick.
How are you finding the drop down in size from the Bronco to the Sport? Atlas Blue is such a great color choice! Any plans to take your Badlands off-road?
@@CarsWithSteve I liked the sport since they've been out. Waited to get one after a few years they were out and about. The big Bronco was won in a raffle in Las Vegas. It was nice and a soft top, very noisy and the 2.7 was very powerful. But it was hard for my wife to get in or out with her bad knee. So I traded the '22 Sasquatch Outer Banks with only 4,000 miles in for the '24 sport Badlands and walked away with a nice check as well. Since I won the big Bronco, I only had to pay sales tax to Nevada. I live in northern Idaho in Post falls and have plenty of places for off-roading. I've only had the sport for just over a week now. And loving it better than the big one.
Wow, what a prize! And then walking away with the new Badlands and a cheque is just icing on the cake. Haven't seen many off-road videos from Idaho but I'll have to check some out. Hope you have a blast in your new ride!
Got a badlands thinking it would be just another decent little soft road CUV. It's no F150 tremor, but it is surprisingly WAY more capable than anything in its class. The AWD system is actually bananas.
The Badlands is my wife's SUV. She got it in 2021, and I've been jealous ever since! It's not quite as fast as my 2017 Infiniti QX50, but it's close. And very offroad capable. The lane centering is really nice. Excellent review. The 2024 seems virtually the same as her 2021, and that's not a bad thing.
Thanks so much, it's always great to hear when people are loving a car! It's crazy how good this little 2.0L turbo is performance wise. Have you two done any rock crawling yet or just trail riding?
@CarsWithSteve mostly in town and highway though we do tow our 17 ft bass boat sometimes. We've done some trails but usually do tougher terrain in my Taco TRD Offroad.
The TRD looks like it would be great offroad. I haven't gotten into the Toyota lineup yet but the Tacoma is definitely on the list when I do. Have you run into any issues with it?
@CarsWithSteve No issues, it doesn't have nearly the power to weight ratio as the Badlands, because it's a much larger vehicle. So it isn't as quick at acceleration. But it's adequate. We really like it. 2023 was the last year of the 3rd Gen design, which is very reliable. The 2024 first year 4th Gen is having the typical bleeding edge growing pains we decided to avoid.
Love it so far. Have not had it off road yet. Going to Bronco Sport Off Rodeo to get some training in a couple of weeks, and then taking it off roading first of April. @@CarsWithSteve
The 2024 Ford Maverick Tremor has the Bronco Sport Badlands suspension. 😊 it is awesome. And the same engine, with 250 hp, and AWD and 4x4 drivetrain with locking rear differential and trail control. 😮
Great review! Looking at trading our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara for a 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands. It’s my wife’s vehicle, she’s really concerned about the smaller size and losing the open air experience. However Wranglers and the large Bronco’s are at stupid prices, this seems much more reasonable when comparing them.
Thank you! The open air experience is going to take a bit of getting used to for sure but she'll probably appreciate the power and easy manoeuvrability. Have you had a chance to take one for a spin yet?
Depends on how you have it built out. Full build details are in the description but this one was: Canada - $56,530 USA - $46,940 The tent depends on if it's the roof or cargo version. Back tent is $475 Canadian/$429 US and the roof version is $2,700 CAD/$2,400 USD
Just bought a 24 Badlands in Hot Pepper Tint Coat. The little 2.0 pulls really well and is smooth. Very inexpensive options. But there is a lot of road noise in the cabin, it’s loud and that is a letdown.
Looking for a new ford gonna trade in my escape and looking to do light-medium offroading. Our dealership here have a ranger XLT and Bronco sport badlands in lot. The raptor and big bronco badlands are out of my budget. Any insight which i should get?
Tough choice! Guess it depends on a few other things.. are you ever going to need the bed space that you'll have in the Ranger? Do you tow? It's 7,500 lbs in the Ranger vs 2,300 lbs in the Bronco Sport Badlands. The Bronco Sport will have better fuel economy but the Ranger will have more interior space.
@@CarsWithSteve i just went to ford today! tested both and was happy on both of them, but yes since i dont tow stuff i pulled the trigger on the bronco. gonna wait till Tuesday for it to arrive i didn't like the color they have on the lot.
@@CarsWithSteve i got the carbonized gray. the one in lot that i tested was the atlas blue, i didnt like the bue tbh. im excited for tomorrow or tuesday, altho im gonna miss my escape been with me since i bought brand new back in 2013.
Nice color choice! You might miss that Escape for a week until you have some fun with the Badlands... especially if you plan on taking it off-road. haha. Enjoy the new ride!
There are cargo nets available that can utilize those 4 hooks.. So while it would be useful for a grocery bag... there are actual cargo management accessories they are used for
When is Steve going to learn NOT to play the sound system in his reviews? It sounds like crap using the microphones on cell phones or even remote mikes. I'm tempted to give this and his other reviews a thumbs down, but otherwise his reviews are very well done.
Cool that you enjoyed the video otherwise but not everyone watches videos only on their phones (desktop and TV watching is up there for my channel), and if they do they could be more than happy with their speaker quality or use headphones...
Forest run will be a blast! It's the same with me for the Badlands trim specifically. Very rare for them to pop up right now.. but it also is only a few years old

I still haven't had a chance to drive a Badlands off-road yet but working on it for this summer. Appreciate the continued support Patrick!

Hi, I'm in Sandpoint! Have you towed anything heavy with your Badlands?

Always great to hear when the Badlands surprises people! Have you taken it on many trails? Done any rock crawling with it yet?
Why bananas ?

Yeah that makes sense. If I get into the Toyota lineup I'll make sure to point out differences between the current and previous gens
I've got a Badlands. You nailed the review - great job.
Thanks! How are you liking yours so far? Have a chance to do any trails or off-road driving with it?

I've heard great things about the Rodeo. Have a blast!
On my second one, we have also had several full size Broncos, love them both for different reasons.
That's amazing! Were both of your Sports the Badlands? Have a chance to take any of yours on trails yet?
Great review! Love the white color for this SUV!

I'm getting a press unit for the Maverick Tremor soon and am definitely taking it off-road! Do you have one yourself?
It’s basically an upgraded version of the 2nd gen escape and that’s a good thing.
Exactly!
Interesting take- those gen 2 escapes were bigger on the inside I’d wager.
After i pay off my Renegade, im upgrading to the Bronco Badlands

I've seen some people in forums using spray foam in the door panels to create some additional sound deadening. How are you liking it otherwise?

Does it have a heated steering wheel?
Yes it does!
Any hint on when sync 4 may be in the bronco sport?
It's supposed to be getting a slight redesign for 2025 so if it's not that model it will be in 2026
Can anyone comment about the towing capacity?! Thanks!
I cover it off in this video around the 5:00 mark. The Bronco Sport can tow either 2,000 or 2,200 lbs depending on the engine you have
The four hooks in the cargo area are for shopping/grocery bags. They are not part of the optional “cargo management system”
There are cargo nets available that can utilize those 4 hooks.. So while it would be useful for a grocery bag... there are actual cargo management accessories they are used for
9:07 I had to listen twice to what he said because I thought he was swearing.
HAHA that' bucking Bronco will get you every time
I love the look BUT that infotainment system... HAS GOT TO GO.
Yup.. it's getting replaced in the 2025 model with the one in the current gen Ford Escape
