In my wildest imagination I never imagined the 1812 Overture as a piano piece. But I hadn't heard Valentina play until recently! So this piece was my epiphany, And kudos to Mr Yessipov for his great arrangement, A GREAT piece!

Oh, Val ... You're always as you are ,, One of the greatest pianists of the twentieth and twenty first centuries,, not because of your exquisite technic, but because of your unique interpretation, your rare sense of the work and the composer, and the audience as well, yes; you posses something ethereal that could transmit your sensations and feelings to your audience, something rarely acquired by an artist ,, I assume it relates to a magnificent mind,,, one thing more, I much liked your little cute assistant, whom I believe he might be your lovely son, he did a good job,, God bless you both.
you are so lucky Valentina you are so loved by millions and millions of people around, you are so giving and an extraordinaire pianist. Never stop,it is your gift to the world.Thank God for your existence.
Dear Valentina, I just had 16.35 minutes of pure pleasure listening to you play this very wonderful piece from Tchaikovsky. TH-cam should allow more than just 1 thumbs up, or 1 like. Its totally an understatement!!! PLEASE ACCEPT MY 100 THUMBS UP !!!! BRAVO VALENTINA !!! BRAVO BENJAMIN !! ;)
Valentina - so glad you are entering the world of transcriptions of big pieces never played on the piano. Not that anything has EVER been something you could not conquer! Hope you continue this idea, as certainly few elite pianists dare play such repertoire. And video is the perfect format - as audio does not have parts of what makes this special. Brilliant job Valentina. Sure beats Romeo and Juliet attempts, as you took on a titan of a work.
Thank you so much for sharing your video. It is always nice to hear your playing. As a piano player (not really good as other players) I admire you more than other pianists personally :) Thanks.

Year ago I use to travel to Votkinsk, Russia on business. I frequently visited the Tchaikovsky museum there. The original (supposedly) piano that Tchaikovsky learned to play on was on exhibit. His father had been a manager of a plant there so that is where he spent his early years. Regardless of the authenticity it was a surreal experience. Overture 1812 has always been my favorite. Valentina, you did a most brilliant performance. Thank you!

Oh, my god!!! This piece is so good on the piano! And the baloons for the cannons! Amazing! I was thinking what would be in the piece instead of the cannons, baloons surprised me and it was really cool!
Definitely the best part and the best performer here: your son!!! Hahaha The addition of the bells works amazingly, and every day he looks more like you! And to actually pull this off, such an intricate orchestra piece like this... You keep rocking the piano, Valentina. And it is awesome to see you back here, on TH-cam, showing your passion and dedication for this instrument and keep enchanting with your performance. Congratulations.. this is incredible!

BUT I MUST ASK YOU THIS QUESTION THAT I WANTED TO ASK FOR A LONG TIME, I KNOW I ONLY HAVE A 50-50 CHANCE OF GETTING AN ANSWER, BUT I MUST ASK ANYWAY....... PLEASE CONSIDER ANSWERING MY QUESTION, AS I AM A LONG TIME FAN AND SUPPORTER, AND I SIMPLY MUST KNOW THE ANSWER OF WHAT YOU FEEL ABOUT ALKAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for recording this.I still have fond memories as a young child being picked to pull the string on the cannons at my first ever classical concert. That concert was Tchaikovsky. One of my favorite pieces by one of my favorite pianists. This day cant get any better. You are awesome!!!!
I absolutely enjoyed this, a very challenging transcription such as the liszt Beethhoven. The balloons and bell are superbly done, bravo! You just keep surprising everyone in your own way. You are a musical gift beyond comprehension.
It's just incredible to see that every piece Valentina decides to play, she memorizes everything perfectly, no matter how difficult it is... This is already a very hard and complex piece and is still nothing talking about her! I loved the powerful cannons and bells here. What a creativity!!! :-))))
Not gonna lie, that first balloon made me jump! haha :) Great performance! I actually caught the end of the 1812 Overture on XM radio last week and, having watched several of your videos, thought it was cool when the DJ announced that you were the pianist. Thanks for sharing!

WOW !!! Another great video, Valentina ! Thank you very much for sharing with us . Your talent always amazes me, but above all your unique personality. I'm looking forward to hearing a lot more from you. Take care. be safe, +ValentinaLisitsa !
You added depth to the first part, depth that has never been there, but it’s easily recognisable as YOUR interpretation ,I got confused as I don’t know the original tune as well as I thought, I thought the climax was great fun, you have no fear, that is why you are such a great artist. As well as a lovely human being.
Hourra!!
In my wildest imagination I never imagined the 1812 Overture as a piano piece. But I hadn't heard Valentina play until recently! So this piece was my epiphany, And kudos to Mr Yessipov for his great arrangement, A GREAT piece!

Not really that rare. Some pianists arrange tons of orchestral works. But this is impressive nonetheless

Qué magnífica interpretación; llena de detalles y un final brillante y creativo. Un derroche de técnica y virtuosismo. Grande Valentina!!!!
you are my favorite pianist Valentina. I understood so much about music listening and watching your videos. I highly admire your hard work and your beatiful spirit . great performance !
This woman is amazing.
WOW !!!
Another great video, Valentina !
Thank you very much for sharing with us .
Your talent always amazes me, but above all your unique personality.
I'm looking forward to hearing a lot more from you.
Take care. be safe, +ValentinaLisitsa !
Hats off, Valentina! What a hell of transcription, but you play it in such a great manner. Congratulations, a great performance!
You added depth to the first part, depth that has never been there, but it’s easily recognisable as YOUR interpretation ,I got confused as I don’t know the original tune as well as I thought, I thought the climax was great fun, you have no fear, that is why you are such a great artist. As well as a lovely human being.
Valentina and Lindsey are out of this world
OMG I can imagine you playing this at Disneyland or Disney world resorts with fireworks everywhere. So cool you involved your son in the piece.
Hourra!!
Loved the cannons!
Wow. Never heard this on piano before. Incredible.
