- This video explains the classification of consonants based on place and manner of articulation. The classification is based on the organs of speech involved and the way the air passage is managed in producing consonants. The examples are mainly English sounds. At the end part of the video, a table of classification of consonants based on place and manner of articulation is displayed.

1. Bilabial
2. Labiodental
3. Interdental
4. Alveolar
5. Palatal
6. Velar
7. Post-Alveolar
8. Global
And Manner of Articulation is the way we mannage our articulation. There are several types of manner :
1. Stop consonant
2. Fricative
3. Affricate
4. Nasal
5. Lateral
6. Semi - Vowel

What I got from this video that there are The Place of Articulation: bilabial consonants, labiodental, dental, alveolar, post alveolar, palatal, velar and glottal consonants. And then, there are The Manner of Articulation: stop or plosive, fricative, nasal, lateral and semi vowel. What I understand from difference of both are the place of articulation is the place where we articulate, for example is teeth. Then, Manner of articulation means the way/ how we articulates. I don't think all these places and ways of articulation exist in every language. For example, the Thai language which in my opinion does not really use all parts of the place of manner. Because if I hear Thai most of what I hear is the sound of the nose. Rarely do I listen to them using throat sounds and so on. (Sorry that I'm just asking a question now sir. I really sorry.)

The more you practice the shorter time you need to fix it. So, please do the training based on the predetermined theory of consonant production that we have learned.
