    Thank you sir. That's also my problem in writing my thesis even if I've tried hard to use cohesive devices.

      By applying thematic progression analysis, you're going to be aware of the relationship among the clauses in your writing. You just need a lot of practice.

    When we analyze paragraphs, why are interpersonal theme rarely found in paragraphs, sir? and usually in what text is the interpersonal theme often used?, sir

    • @rusdinoorrosa9155
      @rusdinoorrosa9155  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interpersonal theme is typically found in a dialogue text. Nevertheless, it is also found in a text that contains modalities, e.g., exposition text

    I would like to asked, Sir about determine type of thematic progression. For example, I analyze descriptive paragraphs to analyze thematic progression. But in the last paragraph there is a sentence restatement to explain what is told in the paragraph. May I know if we analyze the final sentence according to the previous sentence or the first sentence? And what kind of thematic progressions are the restatement sentences, Sri.

    • @rusdinoorrosa9155
      @rusdinoorrosa9155  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The restatement obviously uses the constant continuous theme progression because you use the same theme. As I explained, it is always possible to have all thematic progression patterns in one text, but there must be one particular pattern used most dominantly.

      @@rusdinoorrosa9155 For example, sir, the title of the paragraph is "What I have learned in one semester". So in that paragraph, are explained the points like first, second, third, etc. But in the last sentence of the paragraph a restatement of the conclusion regarding the title of the paragraph is given. An example of a restatement sentence is like this sir "Those are some of the things I learned in the one semester". Is there a constant progression of the type of pattern, sir?

      @@indahyoanda3345 The title is excluded from the thematic progression pattern. Therefore, the pattern of that clause should refer to the elements of themes or rhemes in the previous clauses.

    I would like to ask how to determine theme and rheme for this sentence, Sir:
    "Next, we learn about paragraph unity, here we discuss about paragraphs that have unity and are mutually sustainable".
    Is "Next we" a type of topical theme, Sir.?

    • @rusdinoorrosa9155
      @rusdinoorrosa9155  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. Next is a textual theme, while we is a topical theme. This is a case of multiple theme. A clause has more than one theme.

      1. The second thing that I learned is that when I write a paragraph, the sentence must be clear.
      2. It means that the whole sentences must be straight to the point.
      Sir, I would like to ask, which of the type thematic progression that determine from sentences above, Sir?

    • @rusdinoorrosa9155
      @rusdinoorrosa9155  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Clause Number 1 consists of three clauses: (i) The second thing that I learned is; (ii) that when I write a paragraph; (iii) the sentence must be clear.
      Clause Number 2 consists of two clauses: (i) It means; (ii) that the whole sentences must be straight to the point.
      The first pattern is new brand theme because the theme "I" is new information as it does not refer to any element of the first clause. The second pattern is simple linear progression because the theme "the sentence" refers to the rheme of the second clause "a paragraph".
      The third pattern is simple linear because the theme "it" refers to the whole element of the third clause. The fourth pattern is hypertheme because the theme "the whole sentences" is part of the theme in the third clause "the sentence".

      @@indahyoanda3345 No. The analysis of thematic progression patterns must be based on clauses, not sentences.
