    Far, FAR too many FAB channels have a primary focus on cracking packs or finance. I want this game to succeed *as a game* first and foremost, and the more content I see like this and your Blitz Upgrade series, the more confident I am that maybe this game has some staying power. Kudos.

      Greatly appreciate your feedback and we feel the same way. While we will always touch on the market and the state of the game etc, we LOVE playing this game! We jammed 2 skirmish events this weekend on the same day - over 9 hours of FaB and it was GLORIOUS!

    Definitely don't use all cards to defend with no plan. If you can't attack, your opponent doesn't need to defend, which leaves them with a full hand to attack. It could snowball with them doing more damage that you feel like you need to defend, and never give yourself an opportunity to be offensive. Sometimes you gotta take some damage.

    • @HometownTcg
      @HometownTcg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      100%. There needs to be a reason to do that so it definitely depends on the situation. Normally, you don't want to, but in games against Katsu and Dorinthea, often times you have to block with all cards in hand a few turns during the game.

    I got a little confused on the explanation of DPC. Particularly how 4 damage from your weapon is like 8 damage from two separate cards. Can you help me understand what you mean?

    • @HometownTcg
      @HometownTcg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DPC is a term we use internally for Damage Per Card.
      When you pitch one card to do an attack for 6, you have used 2 cards (the pitch AND the attack) so you are averaging 3 DPC.
      However when you swing with a weapon for 4 damage pitching 1 card, that card is worth 4 damage, thus 4 DPC!

  • @Scotty47170
    @Scotty47170 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I disagree slightly with your first point. I think you missed a key component of going first every time, and that's not allowing your opponent to go first. If you're against one of the decks that has an amazing first turn, like chane or dash, you always go first, no matter what. You do not want them to get the advantage, which is why 99% of the time I feel like if you can go first, you do. I do however think that every other point you made about going first was correct, I'm just not sure there are very many situations where it's a bad idea to go second.

    • @HometownTcg
      @HometownTcg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a great point! As our video was centered more around the newer player, we wanted to really stay focused on some simpler more generic pieces of advice, that were easy to remember. This does not make your point incorrect, in fact, you are very correct in our opinion, but we would consider this line of thinking the "next step" in player improvement.
      Thank you tons for your feedback - always beneficial to hear a well written thought process!

      Hopefully they do! We say try to get a friend and just play some games at the lgs. Then offer to teach them or run events, and say you'll buy cards from them. If you do that enough and they see the commitment, that's when they would most likely start carrying it

    Too bad that prism‘s iris of reality sucks. The only weapon you can‘t really use haha

      Lol in a Herald Aggro deck it definitely sucks, but have you tried it in a control build for constructed yet? That's where it seems to shine. We need some more testing, but it could have potential there for sure. It does work in sealed and draft though. That's for sure!

      I 💯 co-sign the idea of Iris being good in a control cc build.
