    No room to accumulate junk... that's awesome! Great way to keep the car neat and clean.

    I have a 2023 MX-5 GT RF in quartz platinum paint. This color works fine 4 me . Also I feel no need to trade up to a "24 model. Had my car over a year and a half,love this little machine more and more each day. I get compliments every time I take her out for a drive. ZOOM ZOOM

    I put down a $500 deposit for a Series Purple BRZ, about a month ago. I test drove both the roadster and RF MX-5, yesterday. I may get my deposit back and get an RF, next year. Something about the MX-5 that I enjoyed way more over the BRZ. And I love the look of the RF more than the roadster. But they both look SO good.

      Glad you test drove both! Both great cars but with a completely different feel in each. Thanks for watching and commenting. Good luck and keep in touch on what you eventually purchase.

    Love that tan interior. But I couldn’t pass on the club with the bbs/recarro and brembos. It’s on a ship off the coast of California at the moment. Got at least another month before I get it. 😊

      Nice! Congrats. We do have a highway test of the club soft top with that package. The BBS look great and the seats are very comfortable. Enjoy and keep in touch on how you like it. All the best and happy motoring.

      @@BeyondTheTestDrive thanks! The Mx-5 is absolutely great. I’ve had several muscle cars in the past and the MX5 is a much more enjoyable drive.

    The “hidden” trunk release is, in fact, a smart feature; Mazda designed it that way so that the button is not plainly visible to passersby. Owners know where the button is; others don’t.

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching and commenting. The lines/sarcasm about being desperate to find something to complain about got left on the editing room floor. In hindsight, without that lead in , the trunk release, spring open ‘tongue in cheek’ whining should have also been cut. Thanks again and happy motoring.

    Totally agree, the soft top base club trim (without the Brembo, BBS, and Recaro package) at under $35k is the buy. Astute call out. Keep the Miata content coming!

      Thanks for watching and for the nice comment! A Miata is on our list as a potential add to our long term testers. Just finished up tests of the GR86 and GR Corolla. Yea, if we do go Miata it will be that soft top club as the value play. Thanks again and happy motoring!

    Do you like the seats more on the RF club with recaro or the GT Nappa leather?

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for the great question. I think I prefer the leather. Just a more luxury feeling, and a tad more comfortable. And I think the bolstering is enough for autocrossing and even tracking. If this was a third car mainly for tracking and spirited drives then the recaros do provide the best bolstering and are quite comfortable. But for me it would be the leather. But that does require the top trim which makes the rf quite expensive. Thanks again and happy motoring!

    Mazda has some of the worst color choices for the MX5. They DO know it’s a Sports car, right? 🙄

    • @staLkerhu
      @staLkerhu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is the overall trend today, idiots don't want colors in their life. It's like the classic german spec (black, grey or silver paint with all black interior) became the number one thing around the current mental world... 😑

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks for watching. Mazda has great colors but they fail at offering them in all trims and with mix and match interiors. This tan leather is begging for a color for more contrast, their blue, red, or even a British green would be awesome. While the gray would not be my choice it did draw some glances and questions about the car.

  • @bill7481
    @bill7481 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    I have been a big fan of Mazda for many years. There are three of them in my driveway right now. They currently have some good-looking vehicles, but they’ve been awful with the color choices and exterior-interior color packages in all their models. Zircon sand needs to go! Why isn’t deep crystal blue with this beige interior available in the GT, for instance? Why isn’t there a dark green color option with this beige interior? And this is just this vehicle; it’s even worse with the CX-90 and CX-70 exterior color choices and exterior-interior color combinations.

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching. You bring up a very good point. The tan is not available in club or sport trim and no good colors are available on the grand touring to go with the tan. The blue would look great with the tan and a nice British racing green and tan would look great as you mention. Come on Mazda!

    Hey, my only concern is the RF being way noisier than the ST roof down because of wind, you don’t seem to complain about it, but everyone experience air making a lot of noise behind their head
    Not you ?

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching and the question. You can hear some buffeting behind the RF roof structure but I did not find it bothersome at all. One nice thing about the RF is that you can control the swirl in the cabin with the window. Windows all the way up and you get very little wind in the cabin. The ST may be a tad quieter but even with the windows up there is quite a bit of swirl in the car. Both are fine but I do like the ability to keep the swirl down as that helps in colder weather. Let me know if that helps.

    Is a plug-in for the radar detector close to the dash?

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for the question. A 12v is actually on the passenger side under where the glove box would normally be. Weird location but should work for a radar detector.

    Why is the compartment bedind you not a glove box?

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, I guess you could call it that if you’d like. Glove boxes in the traditional passenger footwell location are basically just storage compartments but the traditional lingo is still used. Thanks for watching.

    Can Miata have a small fridge under the armrest like of the other suv.?
    Then relocate cup holder in the front but retractable .. it's cup holder for now is somewhat awkward to access..and unfavorable to the driver's elbow..when driving a very nice sport car..

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching. I think you are commenting on the lack of a convenient cup holder location. The center console area is quite challenged by the width of the car. So no center storage area other than that tiny one and the compartment between the seat backs. It works but is not the best. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

    Almost every point you presented as positive about this car is in fact negative.
    Bad coloring, cheap leather seats, uncomfortable way of closing doors, no iphone inductive charging. You presented an apple carplay here like it was a huge invention. It would be strange to have a car without it nowadays.
    Cupholders placement was done by someone who didn’t care.
    This car looks like cheap chineese tapeplayers in 90-s with lots of flashing lights but without a decent sound.
    I watched half of your video but didn’t see the process of opening/closing the roof. How long does it take?
    Bad car for a price of Model Y(!!!) and a completely advertising video.

      Thank your for watching and we love to hear different opinions. We do not allow misrepresentation of our video content. The top is demonstrated many times during the video. The first time at just 12 seconds into the video. Wireless’ Apple CarPlay is pointed out as being a nice ND3 addition. Key word is ‘wireless’. A lack of wireless/inductive charging is pointed out as a negative. Everyone who owns or follows the MX-5 is aware the cup holder situation is not the best. The video clearly demonstrates ways to configure them the best for 1 and 2 people in the car. As for quality the MX-5 is extremely well built and solid. And the MX-5 is a top down roadster focused on driving engagement, not luxury or space. It is not comparable to a Model y. We offer viewers an extended virtual pov test drive with high quality information, video, and sound. We do not do marketing. We also share our opinions about cars and the MX-5 is one we would love to have in our garage. We appreciate and welcome your opinions on the MX-5 as long as they do not misrepresent the video content. Thanks again for watching and let us know if you have any further questions.
