I just bought the same Vax. The carpet in my bedroom doorway was filthy. This cleaner did an amazing job. I'm extremely happy with it.

How long it dries will depend on how dirty your carpet is and how deeply you have to clean it. My carpet was very dirty and took up to ten pushes over the dirtiest parts to come clean. That could take 4-6 hours to dry compared to your 10-15 minutes.

How long does it dry for?
I live in a student accommodation they don’t have ventilation here apart from the ventilating fan. I don’t know if the smell afterwards will be super strong or not as well?

It dry pretty quick, make sure that don’t leave the machine at one place too long when moving it on to the carpet, just keep moving the machine. I never noticed any smell after it does the job.

Yes it does but please don’t leave the cleaner at one place for very long time while cleaning the carpet.
