I have the same Bissell and if it’s in the upright position the brushes still spin, but they automatically lift up off the carpet. When you press the foot lever to shampoo the carpet they lower again
The issue here is that cars/vehicles are heavy and more often then not, they're not driving in the living room. Spills from the kids, dropping food, dog stains and odor etc. those types of things might be a more realistic test of how well these machines perform. Although, next time a jeep drives through my living room and drags in the mud, this is the first video I'll turn to.
Yes, totally agree. My husband and I are not very dirty so our vax is adequate, but for someone with children, the mess from poo, water colour paint, marmite, jam, lipstick, felt tip, tomato sauce etc would all need a bit more effort. Edited to add. I have the vax, I don’t recommend it.
I was hoping the vac would win, then realised this test isn’t quite fair, look at the speed both of them were cleaning the stains, she was going way faster with the vax one, he pretty much stood still with the cleaner on the stain.. it was bound to get more up, I thought someone else in the comments would of noticed this too
That's what I noticed. The guy had much better technique and took his time focusing on the deep stains. The lady was being dramatic and was using it like a normal hoover.
Believe it or not I got the vax one for Christmas haha, I’ve only used the hand held part so far until I get all the Christmas decorations down, but it worked great on the dog sick stain, I’m just happy I won’t have to keep renting out one of them big rug doctor machines from supermarket,
One more thing I noticed straight away because I obviously need to wash the whole carpet, having a light coloured carpet and doing a spot clean on the dog sick made that area so much brighter than the rest of the carpet, I guess it’s down to me to make sure the whole carpet is cleaned regular so when I do need to spot wash It won’t end up with a poker-dot pattern,
It's the first thing I thought of. It's not a fair comparison, as technique in using them is probably more important than anything else. The only scientific way to do this without human bias is have them do it twice and swap machines. They're not even using the same detergent either.
I got the standard Bissell Pro Heat X2 which is harder to clean than the Pet Pro version which comes apart easier for cleaning but I don't regret my purchase as it cleans really well. Also noted that they didn't use the clean shot function on the Bissell Pet Pro which is designed for more stubborn stains
Bissell detergent is widely accepted to be the best detergent for domestic cleaners, but it's also important to factor in things like the Vax's autowash and how solution is diluted. Even though you get more efficiency with the vax, you get less formula overall, and the machine is incapable of dispensing enough to actually work into the fibers. The tradeoff essentially boils down to convenience. If you want a machine that streamlines the process and requires less refill trips, the Vax is your best option. If you want more actual cleaning power and are willing to take a few more trips, the Bissell wins.
Vax states that if you use any other brand of detergent, your warranty is invalid. Bissell doesn't say this, but do recommend their own. We have the Bissell, the mother in law has the Vax, the Bissell does a superior job even if you use the Vax Platinum solution. The Vax is out of warranty now and we tried the Bissel Pro solution in it, it did a better job than the Vax solution in that machine, but not by much. Hope that helps.
It’s worth noting that the Vax was using the auto mix for the solution. I believe you can just put the detergent into the clean water tank. Also the Bissel trigger was pressed on the backwards stroke so thus meaning more solution went down. Producing more effective cleaning. The other variable was the detergent. Personally both should have the same detergent as when you run out of vax or bissel solution most people will just buy any. However it proves that the sensors on the vax are useless and far better to go manual route.
I agree with you, I will say though that the Vax platinum antibacterial solution is truly better than the Bissell oxy pro solution. But the Bissell is the better machine than the Vax. If you want the best clean going, Vax solution in the Bissell machine and you're golden. How do I know? I've had both machines. One at my office and one at home. Now they both use the Vax platinum solution and clean much better than I expected for the price, especially when I got both machine at on Black Friday for over 50% off.
Fun video. Very nice. RE the Bissell rollers spinning while using the hand tool, did you lock the main vac upright? If it was not locked upright the rollers will spin. Also next time with the test, just a thought, start from an edge and work in a few feet (ok a meter for the Euro bunch). That way the difference is easily distinguishable. Also finally what cleaning setting did you set the on? I don't know if the Vax has that but the Bissell has 3 settings each using progressively more detergent.
I had a Bissel - that was forever having to be sent back to the manufacturers - it was specifically for pets but didn’t like dog fur (yes I always vacuumed first) Now have a Vax which I find is far superior.
Just a note when you use the attachment hose on the Bissell with the machine locked in the fully upright position the floor brushes still spin, "but" both the arms that hold them and press them down into the carpet , are lifted holding the rotating brushes up off the carpet when the machine handle is fully upright. of important note The Bissell with its three position solution switch set on max , blasts down solution like a fire hose. put down more solution you can extract more dirt ,, soak the carpet with the same amount of solution and the Vax would probably clean better as well, one should also note how good the machines are at recovering the solution after putting it down, and you never used the bissells Clean Shot" spot treat" feature that lets you soak a stain with solution..
The bissell cleans better because it uses way more water and it uses a superior formula. If you use the bissell formula in the Vax (hoover) you'd get closer results. The Vax mixes the formula with water as you go - less waste, less error on ratios. The Vax has superior suction / drying which is critical. The bissell takes forever to dry. None of these can replace a professional cleaning service but for the occasional maintenance cleaning - the Vax would be a better choice.
Bissell carpet cleaner, instead of reducing my workload, creates additional work. It does a decent job washing and pulling the water back. However, I've noticed that it scatters lint, hair, etc., all over the carpet. I had to follow up my carpet wash with a thorough vacuum using another machine, as this one hesitates to pick up the thrown-out stuffs.
@@Noliving Bissell has a low-power motor (less than 800W); if you use a better machine with a bigger mouth and a powerful motor like Rug Doctor, you don't have to do the double work.

The bissel has lots more cleaning settings, and is putting more fluid down because it has deep clean settings. The Vax deinitely seemed to be a gentler clean.
Compared to a month of people walking around with shoes covered in very fine road and city dust, those carpets aren't dirty at all. Mud is mainly larger grains and soft organics, and a few passes of wheels isn't going to grind it in down to the base of the fibres.
There are two things which are most important, getting water into the vac and getting dirty water out. The Bissel needs a funnel to get water into the tiny 3/4" hole in the fresh water tank. It's not hard to design a larger lid and yet Bissel chose not to. The dirty water tank is even worse with a single cheap rubber flap. It looks like the tank was installed and then just before shipping them out someone said "oh crap we forgot to put a lid on it. Does someone have an old bicycle inner tube we can cut up and stick on there? The reviewers won't notice." Spend a few extra bucks. Get something with better quality.

How to get to heaven❤️: We've all sinned and if God gave us justice we would end up in hell but we have a way to escape this punishment because of what Jesus did on the cross: 1- Believe that Jesus is God who died on the cross for our sins and rose again 2-Know that you are a sinner in need of a saviour and can't get to heaven by doing good or by any religious works 3- Turn from sin and obey God out of love for God and truly love everyone (reading the Bible will help a lot)

I know you don’t like home cleaners , but if that’s the only option for regular cleans how would do it ?
@@rosiei Id buy a professional portable machine which would pretty much last you you whole life. It'd be a larger outlay to begin (2K to 3K) with but once you have it the cost of professional products are so cheap it'd be like getting your carpets cleaned for free for the rest of your life.
If you can't do that then, you're stuck doing what you're doing.
@@eccentricity9697 thank you. As I only have one very very small lounge it wouldn’t be worth my while spending £2000 sadly. If I had a whole big house of carpets , that would be a different matter.
Hey ho. Thank you for taking the time to reply . I appreciate it.

If you want legit reviews of these go to vacuum wars channel.
Yep, but unfortunately he doesn't review Vax, as I don't think they are easily or commonly available in the US.
My good these machines are slow! I can’t believe how little they did in 40 minutes! These are real toys! Not serious machines.
My VAX took hours to clean the living room! And it didn't even clean as well as the Rug Doctor I hired a few years ago.
My God what a load of rubbish whos carpets get that dirty
How to get to heaven❤️:
We've all sinned and if God gave us justice we would end up in hell but we have a way to escape this punishment because of what Jesus did on the cross:
1- Believe that Jesus is God who died on the cross for our sins and rose again
2-Know that you are a sinner in need of a saviour and can't get to heaven by doing good or by any religious works
3- Turn from sin and obey God out of love for God and truly love everyone (reading the Bible will help a lot)
(Bible verses explain 1, 2 & 3 💗):
1- John 1:1, John 1:14, 2 Cor 5:18, 2 Cor 5:21, Acts 3:15, John 3:18
2- Luke 23:39-43, Eph 2:8, Rom 3:23
3- Matthew 25:32-40, 1 John 3:18-23, Galatians 5:6, 1 corinth 6:9-10, Matthew 25:14-30
Thanks so much for reading, God bless ❤️

Just not have Carpets, the problem is, this is not the best solution, we the time, you need to change the carpet, with all this water, I have wood-floors and save the money on this, use some rugs, Nope, I have heating under the floors, done, LOL hahah
Wood is dust collector just like carpet, rugs need same treatment as carpets - carpets are sound proof warmer and gives softer feel to a room, wood is cold affect noise and dislikes certain footwear/socks/slippery - absolutely no comparison LOL haha
