      Doc, I'd like to clarify... Is this 500-1000mg correct or it should be in micrograms? Thanks!

      @@telmeeeh I had the same question. In the beginning of the vid she said 2.5mcg, then later she say 500 to 1000mg. I also noticed that most of the B12 that I’ve seen is in mcg, not mg.

    • @telmeeeh
      @telmeeeh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@captainadams7569 Yeah, Vit. B12 supplements are normally in micrograms (mcg). The 2.5mcg is the RDA but it won't help much, besides, B12 is difficult to absorb especially if you have low stomach acid production, digestive disorders or you have genetic mutations/problems, so in this case you need a sub-lingual form. For therapeutic dose, we need higher depending on each situation. I've seen 1000mcg (equivalent to 1mg), 2000mcg and 5000mcg sold in the market. So I guess, the "500-1000mg" stated was meant to be "500-1000mcg".

    I ended up in the hospital and I thought I was having a stroke and my husband called the ambulance went code 3 to the hospital. Needless to say they they could not find any symptoms of stroke. Then the bloodwork came back it showed no B12 or very little red blood cells..So the B12 shots were everyday for 6 months and now I take B12 injections every week. My blood cells have gotten on the low area of normal. I was doing this for a year and kept falling when trying to walk. The thing also was I was taking a prescription B12 tablet everyday.
    ❤❤❤❤❤😢😢 it has been 9months and the Dr said I will not recover my. Balance and nerves assoc with depression.
    PLEASE TAKE NOTE ON WHAT THIS DR IS TELLING IS CORRECT.

    I’m only day 3 of B12 recommended by my Dr. My blood work had come back this time with more than perfect results He was impressed and chalks it up to my lifestyle- I live basic and rustic,, only spring water and I grow as much of my food as I can - I make one trip in town a month for coffee, paper towel, anything I can’t grow or am in lack of
    So far so good. No more pins and needles in my feet

    Great video 👍👍👍 I had a fall about 18 months ago, and have been in pain ever since , although dr ‘s could not find anything, my right leg kept giving way . Leading to me ending up on the floor . Especially on the stairs . And if I do quick movements. My daughter who is a masseuse, has started giving me lymph drainage, and also I have been taking vitamin B capsules for about two weeks now . Huge difference . I seem to have the feeling back in my right leg, no longer is my leg giving way. I have no pain at all right now .which is a big deal for me … I hope this comment helps others if they are suffering the same symptoms. My Dr is useless , and just made me feel I was making it up. I absolutely wasn’t. I watched a chiropractor doing lymph drainage on a woman who had been in pain for months , showed my daughter and she did this for me , plus the B vitamins have turned my life around .

    I was deficient in 2019 . My level was 207. I am aware most Doctors don’t see that as a deficiency but I do and thank goodness my GI Doc thought so too. She saved my life. I thought I was dying a slow death at the age of 56 yrs old . I’m still on weekly injections because I refuse to use in another form. My question is why were my other blood markers normal?

    I have all these symptoms. Just last Tuesday I fainted in my room and been wondering what next. I used to get up early by 6am but these days it’s impossible however much I plan to. Had pins and needles but these seem now not common. I have occasional mouth sores. I am unsteady in walking and wobble. My vision distorted as many times I see/feel that I have filled my cup with water or tea or coffee only to find it’s low and not full. The worst is forgetfulness and mental confusion whereby I forget names, events, and where I have placed items and end up in endless search. Am in Uganda, 67 y/o male. My blood sugar was 4.4. I have osteoarthritis and sciatica issues on my left leg as well. Your advice?

    I needlessly suffered all of those symptoms, except headaches. Inability to concentrate, finger / hand / feet / lower leg tingling and numbness were my dominant symptoms.
    I'm a triathlete. I've been running and biking since 1980 (I'm 65 years old). My b/p stays at the 110/73 range. Resting afternoon pulse upper 60's. That with phenomenal Lab results for 12 years, I arrogantly decided to give labs every two years.
    I had never heard of any of this B12 issues because I'd never researched it before.
    My incredible Philipino internal / general practitioner Dr. sent me to get labs drawn 3 time's in three months, narrowing down my red cell count deficiency, my anemia symptoms, and the B12 slack and lack.
    He and I broke my ego and reason took over.
    I'm now a Vitamin B injector. I began to feel better the day after my first injection.
    This Dr possibly saved my life. Athlete that I am, still, this thing was taking me down.
    I'm officially in recovery AND mainly: my concentration is coming back first and foremost.
    It's videos like this one that every new 65 yr old men need to use to be informed.
    Thanks, Cherry

      It is very important Emily na matukoy first and foremost kung ano ang sanhi nito, only then will your chance of recovery be better. if the cause is high blood sugar, controlling it can really help and B-complex initially, if it won't help you, then have your Vitamin b12 checked if you have the risk factors mentioned in this video. Initially, you can also start consciously adding into your diet foods rich in vitamin B12, at least natural yun. God bless you.

    I used to suffer badly from depression. Then one day about twenty years ago the doctor noticed I had a covering over my tongue and told me this could be a symptom of vitamin b12 deficiency. She also told me there is a correlation between b12 deficiency and depression. I had a blood test and sure enough I did have a deficiency. After this I had injections periodically to supplement. My mental health did benefit from this. So this seems to correlate with what you are saying. However, now I am 60, have been a vegan for 5 years and have no trouble with my b12. So, this seems to be the opposite of what you are saying ??

    • @DocCherryDPT
      @DocCherryDPT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes ok yan tita Ethel, those are B complex, meaning combined B vitamins; but with a deficiency of VitB12 mas kailangan ng mas malaking dosage. You continue with what you are having now and consciously eat foods rich in Vitamin B12 like liver. If the symptoms would still persist, you can go back to your doctor for possible Vitamin B12 screening.

    Thank you Dr. Cherry. If one is taking supplements, what happens if one takes too much vitamin B12? My diet isn’t as good as it should be. So use Supplements. I’ve had the blood tests everything came back positive. There were no issues. This is why I’m asking if someone takes too much vitamin B12 what can they look for?

    Dear Doc. Cherry,
    Please could you explain to me about my discomfort. You see, I have been suffering from numbness in my right thumb for about 4 months. I have been to 3 clinics. I will explain right from the beginning. I first suffered from lower and upper arm pain, so I went to an acupuncture clinic. They acupuncture me first. After that they gave me a manual massage and bandaged my arm with some Chinese medicine, somewhat like horse-dung. I think it was not horse - dung, because it was black and very hot. I could not stand the hot bandage, so I stopped
    going to the (acu) clinic. After that I went to a clinic which used Western ( International ) medicine.

I was like a new person. I asked my doctor to check my B12 and it came back 248 supposedly normal. I think I still need the shots it made me feel so good, so much energy & focus. Hi Susan, glad to hear that it helped you. You can start incorporating in your diet natural food sources of Vitamin B12, 1 chicken liver for instance has 3x your daily recommended needs for Vitamin B12.

    • @karenohanlon4183
      @karenohanlon4183 ปีที่แล้ว

      I eat liver once per week lots of red meat and leafy greens. But I did not absorbe nutrients.
      Had most of the symptoms described by Susan.
      After much debate they endoscopy bad stomach flat lining b12 required.
      This was a locum doc who said b12 and your on it fir ever .
      You need to be firm and say this a vitimin cost £1.70 per ampoule. I would like to try it for a six month period shots are required.
      If they say go away say I want a hospital referral and can you add on the letter that I have asked to try the shots for 6 month.
      The GP did tell me that official guidelines were that one shot every 3 month is standard.
      I said would you dose all diabetics and epilepsy patients the same.
      No you wouldn't so why make all b12 deficiency patients take the standard dose.
      Also if told you can over dose ask is it not excretion of surplus in urine.
      I went to two different pharmacies and both said you would have to be on a daily mega dose and there is no known case of overdose of b12 that I can find. Doctors love facts and they worry about specialist referrals so they may be less reluctant to bat you away.

      Ask them to increase your dose. If they are not willing then scream neurologists at them. Say I want referred I have a private medical insurance. They won't know if u have or not.
      However if you have symptoms and they wont try you on a more frequent dose. They will have to explain in a letter to the specialist why they are looking at numbers and not even trying you on increased dose.
      It worked for me and I am feeling a great deal better.

    You can do permanent neurological damage after just 6 months with a Vitamin B12 deficiency so Vegans beware! I was a ‘strict vegetarian for many years and I had a very severe B12 deficiency with all of these symptoms mentioned and more. B12 injections were needed for a long time. Sublingual (under the tongue) tablets are best as the B12 will be immediately absorbed even if you have poor absorption, low stomach acid, lack intrinsic factor etc. Methylcobalamin is much better than the synthetic Cyanocobalamin. Read the labels! A great book to read is titled: ‘Could it be B12?’ Thanks Doc Cherry!

      Hi Edilisa, a blood test ang paraan para makita if kulang sya ng Vitamin B12, common din ang deficiency sa older adults as mentioned in this video. Ang B complex may vitamin B12 na yan but lesser dosage.

      Generally there is no drug interaction between Vitamin B12 and prednisone but it would always be best to talk with your doctor Veronica for personalized evaluation. Thank you for being here, consider subscribing for more health videos.

      Hi Laila, do you have any symptoms? We usually tolerate Vitamin B12 well with no unwanted side effects. Also, vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin, any excess will be excreted in the urine.

    Can you get to many vitamin B since they don’t stay in your system?
    Could you take a B12 in the morning and a Bcomplex at night. I’ve had two back surgeries and sciatica a pain specialist told me to take 2 b complex a day
