Sometimes I'll be like "Today's the day I'll be passive" instalock reyna, peak into enemy team passively, die, do it for 13 rounds for 13-0, and go back to iron for the entire episode.
Commit to it, dont autopilot and just peek like you are him bro. You might run it down a few games but just turn off your danger limiter and go till you die trust. I play duelist tho dont know if you are on diff role
i think one thing that a lot of players don't understand is that sometimes fighting may be perceived as risky but the value of knowing where the enemy in a round (especially when mates are near by) is very important.
Guilty of watching all these but not saving my vods and reviewing them because I’m too lazy to figure out the best way to record, peak D2 and hit a block of improvement, I gotta get it together lol
Hey I've been watching these vod reviews for a while now and would love to submit something myself, but I usually que with 2 other people. Do you do those kinda vods or should I just que some solo games and get a vod that way to submit? Would love to know what you think thanks.
@@rocketdawg3000 I'm the opposite I get every orb I can , even if it kills me XD. No wonder why people in low elo are afraid to do that. Im also low elo
Every mechanic… think about comparing a silver and a plat. A plat will have better prerounds, mechanics, game sense, post plants, deadzoning, etc. Every mechanic is important and to climb most efficiently u need to practice everything, it’s just important to improve or focus on 1 thing at a time
Let's say the enemy team has no sentinel, since my elo is gold this is highly likely to happen, so how often do you think I should be flanking them? Most of the time I play Viper or Raze(They're 2 different agents with different styles but there's just some thing I like about them). I usually stop flanking them and start playing a bit more passive when they play split/default or have a guy hold flank. Is this the right time to stop or should I still try to flank them? I am saying this because most of the time my team keeps on pushing them and starts dying after a few rounds. So, I'd like to know what would be the best scenario for such case.
Imm3 peak, here. With low-elo, you should be focused on frags. You aren't going to have enough good, quality teams (consistently) to try and make complex calls. Your best bet is to keep playing Raze (or Reyna or Jett) and hyper-focus on first-blooding WITHOUT dying afterwards. That will not only boost team morale (mental is SUCH a huge component), but will also pull rotates to whatever site, allowing YOU (your team) to rotate and hit a different site. TL;DR, it's about impact. There's no point in a slow flank bc your teams aren't going to be good enough to hold their own on site, reliably. Other unsolicited advice: the only way to consistently climb is for YOU to always be improving. If you lost a game, there's ALWAYS something you could've done better. Go into ranked with that mindset (that it's your fault, not your teammates). Be hyper-critical of yourself, and every time you die, ask yourself why and then what you should've done instead. Look for CoachKonpeki on YT Shorts. Amazing short-form content that hyper-focuses on fixing SPECIFIC mistakes that players make.
Just one comment on what Wreaperz is saying here, you should look at engagements in general and not just when you die. In most competitive games you want to maximize expected value because they are too complex to guarantee an outcome. So if you're making the right play 60% of the time, you're still expecting for it to not work out 40% of the time. This means you can make the right play and die, or make the wrong play and live. Independent of outcome, for each engagement, you need to ask if you had an even or advantageous position going into the fight, what was your crosshair delta at the start of the fight, did you aim well, did you move well, etc., and then learn from what you did, as opposed to being overly concerned with the outcome. This is why in a lot of the VOD reviews Hooj does you'll notice he points out when players get away with poor play and win a fight because this reinforces bad habits. Similarly, you'll see in this VOD when Zander dies Hooj doesn't criticize it. In fact, he tells the player to copy Zander's play because it was the right play regardless of the outcome.
@@kachimaruTV Ohhh alright I understood, I will start watching a lot of his vod reviews from now on since I am kind of new to his channel, thank you for the tip!
@@Wreaperz I am kinda happy to know that I do think back on my play every time I do it, it's because as you said it helps me understand what I should do and what I can do. Thank you, I will start focusing on playing a simpler game now instead of complicating there scenarios!
Hi, hooj! I started aimlab challenge 90 days, but it felt earlier (in episode 7) I hit better (and I played ascendant consistently and well), but now for some reason I just don't hit and can't get out of low diamond. what could be the reason for this? could bad habits arise from the challenge?
In my experience aimlabs only hurt me in the long run. The only thing that truly helped me was training in the game. Now obviously, we are completely different, and it could be something entirely different. Something to keep in mind though.

Hi hooj, im a brim main in Asc 3 (hopefully soon immo 1), the question I have is how bad is it for me to play brim instead of omen? I come from cs so im really comfortable with my basic smokes and molly, but its impossible to find pro vods for brim on most maps, and im guessing thats for good reason. (On maps like breeze I do play cypher instead of brim).
At the most basic level, brim can’t smoke from as far away as Omen, and his smokes aren’t regenerative, so they limit your ability to adapt on the fly. But the other important thing is that Omen’s paranoia is a fantastic tool for stalling rushes on defense or for taking space on offense, especially when he has good angles to throw it from to clear common positions. That’s why he’s valued on some maps over brim, and brim is valued for his ability to play explosively with stim and 3 fast smokes. That’s partly why if you watch pro vods, brim is rarely played as a solo controller, but is often paired with viper, because viper is able to provide refreshable smoke cover.

The actual problem with 1 ways is they're incredibly selfish smokes with a static position to sit on. A lot of rounds as a controller that sort of smoke play doesn't help at all. Its a niche kink to playing controller, the same reason why sova's don't use force recon lineups if it means they can't shoot back. This omen player is not being a part of the round, being aggressive and taking risks isn't gonna fix this mindset but it will at least teach him what's gonna happen on the deliverers end. All that zander is doing different is he isn't being 1 dimensional behind smokes and isn't afraid of taking a fight without some flowchart on smoking a map playing in his head. He knows fundamentals and also knows what's more convenient. Zander will run it down on omen if it wins the game, this player doesn't even consider any possibility of moving outside his snowglobe on being a smoker.

Another thing I see, is people in lower elo won't even take the risk of grabbing the orb before you rotate from being afraid of the lurk.
