We are friends with the owners of the Cactus Theatre and in 1996 we went to a Buddy show there with the young lad yodelling who was the guitar player in Lubbock in 2017.
The Bluejays Thanks Dan! I’ve been tinkering with this one for the past few months and can’t quite get it down yet. Thanks for the input, I’ll get it eventually!
@@waters8107 The original song was called Cindy Lou, played to a kind of proto-reggae/latin beat and named after Buddy's favorite niece; during practice, Buddy heard Jerry playing Paraddiles (His usual warmup) and Buddy liked it so much, that he asked Jerry if he could play that kind of beat instead of the latin style. Jerry, who had just broken up with his GF Peggy Sue Garron said that if Buddy changed the name to Peggy Sue, then he'd play the paradiddles... in the end, Buddy got his Paradiddles, we all got the rock classic known as Peggy Sue and Jerry Allison got his ex-GF (soon to be wife) back (the reason he wanted the name change, in the first place).
