SOMEONE HELP i got one of these and nothing will play through it without a effect on which is really really gay it worked before i think i must have switched something but i havent got a clue what HELP!!
this is like sum crazy episode of doctor who with a disco back beat, so the kaoss pad is pretty much a drum machine with loadz of other shit thrown over it?
the sampling button's shit, i thought i was getting my timing wrong, but when i checked it by recording one of it's own auto bpm drum patterns in a loop, it comes out different, it like skips half a beat or something. i feel a bit hard by seeing as that was the main reason i bought the damn thing
@ThERaBiDSoCkPuPpEt If you weren't familiar with the device, you probably are not going to want to watch a 45minute break down of every setting, technique or whatever. Its a good general rundown.
@NoR3m0rs3 heheh...hes more of an insperation to me..lol..ive been watchin him since 2006..i was like...8 at the time..now im 13..now ive finaly got money to buy one :D
@247porkchop ...With all due respect, beardyman is really good good, but you should check out mastamicbeatbox ... I think u'd appreciate him... Oh yea electromuzik! xD
@TheVillainDubstep I mean, effects aren't a *need* thing. I'm getting one to supplement my existing setup, get a sample bank, and some premium effects. B-|
I'm getting on this Christmas. Really excited; it will be my first proper hardware device. (I'm a seventeen year old who makes music in his free time) ^^
@Robot0Ninja MPCs are different machines with more sophisticated sample edit/trimming, quantization and chopping for creating songs & beats, i reckon. They're not about effects. The Kaosspad is more a live sampler with more usable effects than the MPC thanks to the X-Y pad & sample pads, but it's harder to edit looped music samples successfully even with a PC. The Kaosspad has basic synth & drum functions & also makes beats but I wouldn't compare the two
yes it is possible. But not in full range... you can only set korg input to master and output to your amplifier. so you can put the effekts on your master signal. or between turntable and mixer. but with send return you can choose the channe or even both ;-)
if i was to put it between my mixer and my amp buy going master out into the pad, then out of the pad into my amp, am i not able to record because there is no extra output? thanks
ok so i have a question. im thinking on buying this thing but i need to know if i were to hook a cdj up to my mixer and the KP3 to my mixer would the cdjs music be processed through the KP3?
@HExtab12 it does come with instructions, but only the basic stuff.. my advice is that you check out Korg's website for the KP3, because they got a pretty good manual.
you can turn off echo effect by holding shift and sliding up the fx release level and then sliding it back down. Then it doesnt' do that cheezy echo thing each time.
you can use this while playing live with your set while playing other people's songs to create your own effect ... you dont need any expertise like scratching but to make a whole session on it you need some practice
it works with everything that have a line output. Plus if your mixer has an effect loop you can control wet/dry just with fader or button on your mixer.
again: I bought my KAOSS PAD today and after 6 hours I am already producing perfect lines to mix up in the computer - very nice tool! it almost is an instrument the kaoss pad 3 is the best choice of all kinds of KAOSS PADS there are it is an instrument, a sampler-looper there are just a few good things I miss: PITCH control SWITCH, at least 16 or 32 slice parts (it has only got 8) and at least 4x4 sample-pads; a larger screen and a PC - LIVE - SOFTWARE- TOOL XD please make one onpen source !!
Yeah. Don't use a KP3 first. Start off with something that's used for actually making beats, some good software or something. Ableton seems to be pretty popular these days. There are demos for it everywhere. Good luck.
Hold shift and turn down the "fx release" fader above the hold button. Just search for the manual and FX chart on the Korg website, everything is explained there.
makes an awsome addition to any setup. i use mine in the studio. I find the live capture/repeat feature fucking amazing you can give a real rythmic feal to just about any sample. a hip hop producers wet dream. or mine at least anyway.
man oh man I love my little KP3--got it about a year ago...hooked it up to a MicroKorg Vocoder and lately an old Optigan and really cleaned up some lo-fi loops the oldOptigan makes. That's one thing Korg needed to do when they dropped the KP3 last year was put up some kind of visual tutorial on their website or include a DVD with the unit, yet you've done a fine job here.
Can someone explain to me how to get into this stuff :( i have no idea how to start making electronic music! i want to make something like wobble synths and nice dance beats. like the ssnakepit enter shikari intro
IM ORDERING THIS SEXY ASS BEAST NEXT WEEK BRUH!!...CANNOT FUCKIN WAITT....GUNA USE IT FOR BEATBOXING MOSTLY... :D
this aint a review, it's messing around with 1 shitty lowpass effect
SOMEONE HELP

it's brilliant to do some beatbox with it
check my beatbox kp3 video out please
Gr Beatboxer BBG
djlawnboy - It can go well over 130BPM, this review is just worded poorly, what he meant was for this example he's set the BPM to 130.
i want to learn how to use a kaoss pad what should i get to learn how? is the minikp good for that? and is it easy to learn?
I'm getting on this Christmas. Really excited; it will be my first proper hardware device. (I'm a seventeen year old who makes music in his free time) ^^
How ya doing my man?
watch 'beardyman using kaoss pad' instead, it gives you a much better overview of what this thing really can do
hey i got a question how do i connect the kaosspad 3 with my dj set up??????i got 2 cdjs and a mixer
Would i be able to hook this up with a reloop iq+ mixer??????if yes in wich slot???please help
is this thing portable like the kaoss pad? or is it plug and play? i need more info
Of course you can use it for parties. Ashtray, cupholder, anything.. sure.
are the drums off the kaoss pad or are they peing input by something else
sorry hit the wrong button (thumbs down)... I think 4 samples at a time
This is a horrible review and doesnt do the KP3 justice atal
sounds like something that costs a lot and does very little
This does the pad no justice, go watch beardyman or mastamicbeatbox
16 ans plus tard on a assez de recul pour dire que c'était une belle merde !
@ThERaBiDSoCkPuPpEt
its really not very good is it haha
is it possible to use it with a mixer without send & return mode?
I'm not even sure the video was linked to the kaos pad's audio.
@TheVillainDubstep yeah and you payed $500 more for you DJM2000
True i could of worded mine better lol i was a bit blunt
@Arbator177 yeah they do, it's called nsfx.
google it.
Swet lord, how oldschool is that review!!
pioneer efx 500 and the 1000 are much better!!
This not really a review though.
Edit the fx !? In what way !? I didn't know that !
Whats the song in the first 10 seconds?
Nice n crunchy dnb! I was wondering the same
I keep expecting Spinal Tap to show up...

Hey guys! I own one and he haven't showed the real capabilities of the KP3 !!! this machine is really cool! Go try it at the store if you can!!
@HExtab12 it does come with instructions, but only the basic stuff.. my advice is that you check out Korg's website for the KP3, because they got a pretty good manual.
well, i bought it used, but i think it will come with instructions of some of it's features.
could you hook this up to an I-pod or computer and mess around with songs on it like the mini kaoss pad?
u can plug this into a guitar right?
I like the voice 👽🎭
you can turn off echo effect by holding shift and sliding up the fx release level and then sliding it back down. Then it doesnt' do that cheezy echo thing each time.
Kind of lame for a review dude. s
you can use this while playing live with your set while playing other people's songs to create your own effect ... you dont need any expertise like scratching but to make a whole session on it you need some practice
@djtes90 Same, except with different ages bahah
You have the moeny to buy one at 13 and I dont and i'm 20, FML
@RufusT9 i think im getting this, not quite sure. can u make beats with it like an mpc or NI's Maschine?
@kaimasoetra LOL you got that right dude :D beardyman is fucking genious
its a mixing tool you n00b nightfall. also on the video the peak light is flashing meaning the input level is too high..
Just a nooby question.. If I hook this up to my microkorg is it easy to sync the tempo's.. For the arpeggiator and whatnot. thankz
at a good price its about $320
What kind of mixer do you use?
@astraltrancer303 lol
@DeeJayBounce lol man. You got me with that comment. Cracked me up haha.
it works with everything that have a line output. Plus if your mixer has an effect loop you can control wet/dry just with fader or button on your mixer.
again:
I bought my KAOSS PAD today and after 6 hours I am already producing

PITCH control SWITCH, at least 16 or 32 slice parts (it has only got 8)
and at least 4x4 sample-pads; a larger screen and a PC - LIVE - SOFTWARE- TOOL XD
please make one onpen source !!
If you a begginer don't get anything yet, until you are a confident and decent DJ
This looks like a great product and I really want to buy one.
This video should be renamed to
"Features of KP3"
Yeah. Don't use a KP3 first. Start off with something that's used for actually making beats, some good software or something. Ableton seems to be pretty popular these days. There are demos for it everywhere. Good luck.

how do you run a kaoss pad ??? just connect it up to your mixer an an pair off speakers an away you gooo ?????
how did you connected????
something else.
I am ho much do you sell
dude there about $ 500US
Or it could become sort of an MPC / Kaoss Pad 3 hybrid. Either way, I agree that they should expand on the idea.
kk so around £200-£300
How much would one be?
Nothing, apparently...
i do !!!! how much...
makes an awsome addition to any setup. i use mine in the studio. I find the live capture/repeat feature fucking amazing you can give a real rythmic feal to just about any sample. a hip hop producers wet dream. or mine at least anyway.

@NoR3m0rs3 mkay *hands over empty kaoss pad box...*..enjoy :D
@jamesp91 Up the top. It's the title of the video.
Use your eyes, fool.
which is better
KP3 from KORG
or the
SP 555 from roland???
That was the shittiest demo I have ever seen. They don't even show you the looping capabilities!
Can i hook this thing to my mixer, for my cdj 800s, and still be able to record it into my sound card?
@djtes90 Same argh, beardyman is spawning a generation of wannabees like me
Nice peace of kit..
how many effects does this thing have..?!?
8 i think? XP
@almostjalun Surely you want it to be cdj>kp3>mixer
what leads do you need to connect it up to so it goes into a guitar with an XY pad
send/return
yes you can
Can you use the KP3 alone like you can use the KAOSSILATOR ?
Can someone explain to me how to get into this stuff :( i have no idea how to start making electronic music! i want to make something like wobble synths and nice dance beats. like the ssnakepit enter shikari intro
LifeOfSquintsMagee did you ever manage to get into making electronic music?
