ik it may sound odd but one of the habits that have led to me having a happier life is talking to myself. it makes me feel like i’m venting to someone about whatever has me down, and it really helps me feel better and gives me a sense of security.

I know literally talking something out leads to truth coming to the surface. No matter how much I've agonized over a specific opinion or whatever, I'll talk to someone and the truth comes out by accident!

Reminding myself to be kind to people. I've seriously emotionally hurt people before, and I felt awful. But now, I try to look back and say, "No, I won't let anger take control of my actions anymore." My life has vastly improved since I started being kinder to others, because it makes me happy that I'm making others happy.

Having a schedule of when you go to sleep and when you wake up. Same with setting times for eating dinner and lunch when you can.
Keeping a schedule organizes your day through unconscious habit without actively thinking about it which brings order in your life and it ends up translating to less stress.

Meditation is legit guys. Find a beginner one on TH-cam and try it! That was one of the biggest things that literally changed my life from anxious depressed stress ball to actually happy and can chill out

Thank people more. In a restaurant, thank the chef if anyone at the table has had a better than expected dish. Costs nothing, but the grin you receive will make your day, as well as the kitchen staff.

The owner reviews the videos when the bot gets done, they're supposed to proofread it and make sure it doesn't contain mistakes like that but guess they forgot

A lot of people say working out and great that it works for them. But I think its more any ongoing self improvement, especially if it makes you healthier, is the core part of that. For some its the gym, for me its been diet and losing weight. It's a big win on the board and something that I've had to work on for over a year now. Also I can see the results in the mirror.
I agree with block and ignore all advertising. This include a lot of 'news' that will say anything to keep you angry and watching, as well as a lot of channels on TH-cam and the like. While not officially advertising they follow the pattern 'create the problem, sell the solution' in this case selling can include clicks/ view/ patreon. A see a lot of people really convincing young boys that low T is a huge issue and that they have the solution.
I'd also avoid social media that is really just about hating on others. I see it so much with any new nerd media. People whose profit comes from convincing younger people (often men) to hate on things.
I can totally agree with the '5 minute rule' although I have my own slightly different version of it. Was overwhelmed by housework. Just spent 5 minutes here and there (every couple of days at minimum) binning rubbish, tidying, sorting out storage (and throwing a lot of old crap away) and eventually I had the whole house clean. And here is the thing.... a clean house takes a lot less work to maintain. Seems a bit backwards but you do so much less double handling (clothes from bed to chair and back as an example). It's just getting to a good standard that can be hard. But yeah, its actually a bit depressing how quickly 5-10 minutes a day really cleans up your life if you have been sitting around crap for a long time. Also start with areas you see/ use a lot (computer desk and around your bed and sink). Biggest emotional effect for the smallest amount of work. Which gets you in a good place to keep working on stuff.
Also learning how to break things down into small steps is really good. I have executive function problems due to mental health and so to break things down I have to get pen and paper and actually properly plan tasks out. Interestingly enough I was put on some meds that fixed my executive function (but gave me some bad side effects so I went off them) and just being able to look at a problem and kind of have my mind instantly break the task down into steps for me was a real eye opener and godsend while I was taking them. Never been so productive.

using a planner i put the task and an hour it could be done within the day, even down to when i should eat. giving myself super spacific time tables keeps my days in order, and as weird as it sounded at 1st that i need to be told what time to eat or sleep, stuff like that really does clear the mind. go with your best judgement tho and change accordingly, but try to keep as much the same as possible
