This game is great. I remember when it first came out I can't even run Low textures. Even if it does, the textures look like crap basically. And now after all these patches, it can now handle Ultra textures with ease but I still doubted it if you don't have at least 8GB. You really do need at least 8GB basically to run Ultra or even High textures. Now that you mentioned the FSR 3, I'm more interested in that because the mod that I am utilizing right now is not working correctly or as intended so gonna see how the official implementation gonna bring to us. Keep up the good work. ☺

The game is really intensive, not as intensive as TLOU, but still. Also it's weirdly optimized cuz the other day I saw someone on youtube playing it with only 2gb ram !

I have an i7 4770k and an RTX 2070 Super and the game runs fantastic between 60 and 75 fps in high 1080p graphics. It would be good if you made another video testing high-end graphics with the i7 4770k to see how far that processor can go.

I think the reason why the GTX 970 isn't performing as good as he expected, is because Maxwell GPUs are not as optimized for DX12 as Pascal GPUs like he said. But alse becase it is constantly accessing the slow 0.5GB part of its VRAM. I'm curious to see how a standard GTX 980 performs compared to a overclocked GTX 970, since GTX 970 OC can match the rasterized performance of the GTX 980 when pushed to its limits, but the bigger brother doesn't suffer from the memory issue.
I just ended this game on my i7 3770 16gb ram and rx 590 GME On medium preset and textures on high it ran on an average of 35-40 without dipping under 30

The most demanding area that I found in this game is after you exit that state house or whatever that you fight federa in, Right before you go into the subways. There's buildings foliage water and all kinds of object all over.

i have a 6600xt that i recently just upgrade from a 1660 super and it's such a compact little card, offering 60% more performance than my old 1660 super while consuming about the same power
Tried the game with a Ryzen 3 3300X, RTX 2060 Super, and 32gigs of 3200mhz RAM, using 1080p and the Auto preset which is High / Ultra Textures and native resolution no fsr or anything, it runs well with dips to high 40s but consistent on 58 to 60 frames per second. (Running on HDD keep in mind) Overall it's been great, and if I wanted to I can even turn on FSR and be stable at 60 but I didn't mind.
@@Hk-uw8my The only downside I notice from having it on an HDD is that when you're too fast in a vehicle, it tends to not load the whole area you're going to, and I think that an SSD would give it less loading times than an HDD. AFAIK? hahaha

You know the game starts running a lot worse since the moment you go inside the sewers, right? I have an RX 7600 and I5 13400f and my game goes from 100 fps in all of the beginning areas on High to Ultra settings for textures, 1080p no upscalling, to 55 fps inside the sewers and 59 after getting out, including the Fall forest area and the Winter forest.
@@zWORMzGaming Then it must be the game requiring more memory in the later more intense areas. Since the RX 7600 only has 8GBs, I’m guessing that it allocated all of my VRAM and performance started to go down significantly. Especially because I play on a mix of High and Ultra.

970 was way slower that it shoud. Not more on Nv focus. That was good too show, Gtx 1080 vs. Rtx 2070. It was close and today the 1080 is often slower VS. A 2060. Old cards are often not bad, but the support is the problem.
Don't worry. This game is really bad optimized on PCs. It's just never gonna be fixed at this point. Either buy a ps5 and play the game there, or buy an RTX 3080 and above to enjoy this game with 60 fps at high settings.

14:15 look at gpu power draw. The game switched ram for vram, upscalling barely helps when that happens.

Even an ssd wont give you constant 60fps. This hardware just can't do that without upscaling.
