It's really sad seeing an 8 year old game have better graphics and mechanics than some modern games. Edit: Not everybody has the money to buy high end pc and some people are living in la la land thinking it is easy to get higher paying jobs. Modern games optimisation is really bad, Big decrease in fps and no changes in graphics, DL1 has more players than DL2. These devs want money they don't put in work as they used to before.
Dying Light came out the same year I got my first serious gaming computer and started caring about GPUs and what they can offer. It became a huge reason I started looking up GPU review channels because I became super curious about how different GPUs run a video game. This eventually led me to your channel and I have yet to miss a video. Your personality is addicting as hell.
Really appreciate you doing this. I'm sure loads of people wanted to see what this performs like since it's free for now. I'm personally not a fan of zombie games but this is still interesting
Hey Kryzzp. Great video! I loved Dying Light when I played through it, my 1050ti barely struggled at 1080p mostly high settings. It’s a shame that my card, which is a beast in many older titles, is now considered low end in modern titles. It goes to show how much optimisation goes into console titles as the GPUs in the Xbox One and PS4 are weaker than mine, but can run games that I struggle to.
It ran well on my 1050 ti. I had to put shadows and another setting (sorry I don't remember) at medium and everything was running pretty smooth ! Still a great card when you lower some graphical settings. Sometimes the difference between high and medium isn't that noticeable.

I played it on a 3080 via my triple 1440P 144hz monitor setup (Nvidia surround) and was able to play it on ultra smoothly. Incredible experience that I recommend to all. In fact, I'm trying to convince my friends to grab it on Epic so I can play it with them via co-op as I played exclusively single player the first time around.
You should get the CLM weapon mod for the game from Nexus mods. It's really easy to install. That mod made me play a lot more than I would have without it.
@@d_r1zzL For the incredible visuals that in my opinion surpass even today's games and at 1440p is incredible. I can run it over 165 fps on my 165hz monitor with an RTX 3060 Ti. It may be old but it's optimization is golden.
@Aleksi 2 4gb variants existed, They were rarer. Nvidia were known for doing this. Releasing the common 1.5 gb 2gb or 3gb variant from their 400 to 700 series and then releasing a much rarer 3gb 4gb or 6gb variant.

Your videos are very entertaining because I keep all of our old components and sometimes seeing a video of yours shows a combo that I can put together myself. I can enjoy old things again like they were new! Plus it's also the way you play while testing. I'm fairly certain you could have a successful gameplay channel! I really your content.
I'd recommend going to the Old Town for benchmarking this game, it's a map that you unlock after a few missions. The Old Town map is much more demanding than the suburbs, the difference in performance on my PC was around 50 FPS (120 in the Suburbs, 70 in the Old Town here). You can find several save files that have that have this map unlocked if you're not playing through the game.
On suburbs to me perform very bad, i bought it like 6 months ago, R5 3600 and RX5700XT, 16GB RAM 3200MHz, but 60-90fps with drops to 40s, i played in 2015 with a R7 240 at 18fps and was so excited but gg.

Played this game with my friend on coop, it was such a fun experience. And guys please enjoy the night time the horrific environment during the night is really worth it and so fun.
I actually played and finished this game with my GT 730 2GB DDR3 back in 2015! It was on the lowest setting with a low resolution but it was still playable at around 30FPS. The Following DLC lagged like crazy because of the expansive area and the large crowd of zombies but it was still playable because the game was so fun!
I basically get an (almost) locked 200FPS at 1080P on my R5 5600 + RX 6700 build. The stock Wraith Stealth is barely keeping up (even after a strong undervolt) as my CPU is around 80°, but the experience is GLORIOUS. Totally worth it, especially if you can have play with some friends.

Play this at 4K with a proper GPU if u grab a friend and play the story thats a super bonus but also playing it completly alone ist beutiful. A Tip: Let the multipalyer option on but turn off nighthunter/invader. This game is SICK and the fighting especially when u get sharper weapons or a bet and lvl up a fiew lvl like mid game. Also take ur time leveling: take the time to actively level. choose places where there are zombie heaps and torch them with molocktoails or go on vans and hit them form the van untill they die.. run around in the night and climb around to get double agility points. Doing a few lvls without playing the story can increase the fun factor. But it's also enough if a friend drops high lvl weapons or some random player does it (this often happens if you leave the online function activated) have fun everyone please play the game duirch and especially the DLC is almost even better!

@@KattarAthiest It's a fun enough game, but I personally think it doesn't hold a candle to Dying Light 1, not even close, so I was disappointed in it as a sequel. My personal gripes for Dying Light 2 are: * A lot less attention to detail (some examples: I found a way underneath the game-map twice without glitches, I sequence broke a couple quests by accident just by using the glider in them and had to restart, I flew over to the Renegades' base and instead of winds that blow you away ~like in other areas of the game~ found an invisible box surrounding the base that I could 'land' on and just walk around in the sky as a result). * A lot more repetitive quest design and copy paste locations (those labs in particular weren't great). * A formulaic world design (complete with the Ubisoft patented Bandit Camps lol). * A more gamified experience (floating levels and healthbars on by default, chase levels and invisible aggro distance instead of the vision cone nightlife of the first game, basically they took the focus away from the horror elements of the first game and instead focused on copying generic AAA tropes). Those are just a handful of my annoyances with the sequel that immediately come to mind, again, the game was still enjoyable to me, I just think the first game was something special and the second game was something generic.
@Fusion Yeah I felt the same. I loved the first one. The 2nd is okay it just doesn't hit as hard as the 1st. I think a big part if it is the gore, the gore in 2 got a pretty big downgrade imo.
The reason why this game still looks outstanding and plays outstanding is because its from a time where developers relied on good art style, detail to environment and not relying on something like ray tracing to make it look great. I like Dying Light 2 but honestly that game fails in art style and on non RT PCs it disables many real time shadows on grass/wheat to make RT look better. They don't use combinations of cubemaps + SSR as well to make RT stand out more, unlike RDR2 where devs had a better sense on how to use traditional rendering options.
Just got this game for $8.99 on Steam and i'm noticing that everyone's GPU is running warm in benchmarks including mine lol. My GPU sits around 70-72C but the game runs super smooth like butter! If only recent games like Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Callisto Protocol weren't optimized like dog shit 😄
purchased a pny gtx 780 3 fan gpu last month paired with a ryzen 5 1400 on an ecs b350 motherboard running windows 8.1 , very fun and interesting mismosh of everything seems to be a good paring as well
I was quite surprised by how rough DL1 gets in some scenes when maxed out. Playing it at 1440p with a 6750XT and 100fps lock. 90% of the time it can push more frames and is underutilised, but in certain really demanding scenes like looking at a bunch of fire at night with rain in place it drops well below 100, the lowest I can remember was about 60 or 70fps. I honestly don't think those scenarios are complex enough for it to drop so much, but it is what it is. I max out any games I play (except for RT) and this one was no exception.
@@psylina It's literally the complexity of those couple scenes, not the CPU or anything else. The usage of my 6750XT is at 99% at those moments, and I experience no stuttering or CPU-related framedrops. I'm running a 12100F. My usage doesn't even reach 70% when playing it, and the game is steadily locked to 100fps 90% of the time, except for those few moments
I played Dying light the following on an Intel hd 4400 and intel i3 4th gen 16 gb ram and I got 30 fps on medium-ish setting. Glad I played the cracked first and I bought it when it became free.
Yes I have on my 3060ti but can go down to 120 in some areas if your fighting a lot of zombies just depends what part of the map. I have sunk over 10 hours into it since Friday
Oh no I remember when this game came out and I didn't have anything that could play it. Now I have a system that will murder this, but I'm reminded of how old I'm getting 😭
This game is really a masterpiece Good optimization doesn't look like sh*t at lowest setting and even I can play this game at same settings for minimum (not 720p) (1366x768p) with my r7 240 ddr3 paired with i3 2.Gen 4gb ram (Actually its not that playable for someone but its enough for me 30fps+ not all time cuz some areas really demanding but generally 30+ )

This game literally made me change my pc specs.. dying light 1 goat
test more cards on this game really fun to watch
Just got this game for $8.99 on Steam and i'm noticing that everyone's GPU is running warm in benchmarks including mine lol. My GPU sits around 70-72C but the game runs super smooth like butter! If only recent games like Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Callisto Protocol weren't optimized like dog shit 😄
purchased a pny gtx 780 3 fan gpu last month paired with a ryzen 5 1400 on an ecs b350 motherboard running windows 8.1 , very fun and interesting mismosh of everything seems to be a good paring as well
Gtx560 was very good GPU for me from 2011 to 2015. Where is this good old days when NVIDIA was good.
My daughter is playing it on an i7 920 @stock speed , rx580 4gb version and 16gb ddr 3.....runs fantastic and she loves it....1080p ofc
You should continue benchmarking GTA 4 too :)
Omg medium textures in this game much better than medium texture in The Lag Of Us💀
One of the very few games I have over 100+ hrs on steam.
I have 670 hours on left for dead 2 😂
I bought this game 2 weeks ago on steam... Damn
It might have to do with the things going on in the world around you? Checked your cpu usage during it?
@@psylina It's literally the complexity of those couple scenes, not the CPU or anything else. The usage of my 6750XT is at 99% at those moments, and I experience no stuttering or CPU-related framedrops. I'm running a 12100F. My usage doesn't even reach 70% when playing it, and the game is steadily locked to 100fps 90% of the time, except for those few moments
make more of these videos banchmarking relatively old games with relatively old gpus & cpus
I played Dying light the following on an Intel hd 4400 and intel i3 4th gen 16 gb ram and I got 30 fps on medium-ish setting. Glad I played the cracked first and I bought it when it became free.
Eu n acredito q usaste um caracol pr segurar a GPU ahahahifpahsfhasiphasph GéNiO 😂😂🔥🔥
E o USB a ligar o PC pelos pinos ahah
You should try benchmarks to the arkham knight game is very good and optimized game I am sad we not see it!
When revisiting this games, also includes an APU test like a 5600g
i remember playing this game on 10 years laptop now im playing on rtx 3060 and most of the time im hitting 170+ fps
Yes I have on my 3060ti but can go down to 120 in some areas if your fighting a lot of zombies just depends what part of the map. I have sunk over 10 hours into it since Friday
true
Damn. So it runs well on older gpus. My laptop broke down about a day before it came out. Can't get another for a while.
I already bought the game on Steam for 10 bucks when it was on sale, but I might go ahead and play through it on my Steam Deck unlike The Last of Us.
I love this game so much
It feels illegal to be this early.
Really good idea for a video! Shall we!
Oh no I remember when this game came out and I didn't have anything that could play it. Now I have a system that will murder this, but I'm reminded of how old I'm getting 😭
My graphic card is the same, I am very satisfied with it, it is great
It is one of the best games in visuals and optimization
This game is really a masterpiece
Good optimization doesn't look like sh*t at lowest setting and even I can play this game at same settings for minimum (not 720p) (1366x768p) with my r7 240 ddr3 paired with i3 2.Gen 4gb ram
(Actually its not that playable for someone but its enough for me 30fps+ not all time cuz some areas really demanding but generally 30+ )
