Speedruns are cool, but challenge runs are really what tests the pinnacle of human ability. There are people who were able to beat Demons Souls, the Dark Souls trilogy, Bloodborne, and Sekiro, without leveling up, completely hitless
the thing about celeste speedruns is that almost every jump requires more inputs than youd expect. Its not like in super mario where you just doing precise long jumps, you doing precise long jumps like also hitting a couple more inputs to get the fast version or even more to get the super fast version and chaining those together super quickly
The titanfall 2 speedrun actually has some lore to it. One of the character designers of apex legends made a character based of the way people used grenades to boost themselves in the trial, resulting in Octane, who likes to go fast but has artificial legs
Hi Lud, I hope that SRM really hasn't turned you off from Ocarina of Time speedruns as much as you said. In the OoT speedrunning community, the discovery of SRM only added categories, while keeping all the categories from before SRM untouched. There's a category for everyone and it just sounds like you need to find the one that you find the most enjoyable to watch (:
Also on the Titanfall speedrun, thats canon now. In apex legends, which is a continuation of the titanfall series, Octane is a character with metal legs. This is due to the fact that he blew them off with a grenade attempting to beat the fastest gauntlet run which was beat prior (in the speedrun shown) using grenades to propel the runner forwards
@@carrotmaster8521 i think its stupid but you are actively handicapping yourself by not using it while its legal, so no hate to the runners. just seems silly to allow something that operates entirely outside of the game to influence how fast you can go in the game. but it does suck four runners who may not like it, because they are esssentially forced to use it if they want to keep up with competition in any meaningful way
@@joetaxpayer8180 That's exactly what's happening. A couple of the biggest opponents to the unban caved immediately and a couple more have given in since. I'm using the word "caved" like it's negative but I don't mean it negatively. While it's possible to beat the world record without a calculator, your odds go down, and Minecraft at that level is already a game of playing for very long odds.
@@Chunkosaurus Don't watch then. If you can't appreciate the skill that goes into learning how to cope with a speedrun that demands that kind of mental flexibility, watch something else. I hate calculators too, but the runners who wanted them unbanned had their reasons and luckily it only fucks with part of the game, not the whole thing. The ironic thing to me is that the one unambiguously good thing about calculators is they reduce exactly the other thing you're complaining about, the RNG. By quite a bit actually. Now any run that collects 20 obsidian (a sizable minority of runs) is all but assured a stronghold spawn without having to deal with randomly winding up 400 or 800 or 2000 blocks away. It takes time but it's very consistent.
I was watching this, hoping he'd react to the titanfall 2 gauntlet speed run. For those who don't know how crazy 10.10 seconds, there is a video on my channel of he beating it in what's considered a very fast time.
If you all love speedrunning, there's a whole bunch of video essayists out there who love to deep dive into the lore of the communities and just how broken some of these games are. They're really really talented. (totally not biased comment or anything)
8:03 that’s what inspired the writers for the apex legends lore for octane. He blew off his own legs, getting the world record in the gauntlet by using grenades
OoT speedrunning is pretty diverse. From "Literally manipulate the code at the register level with controller inputs" to "Just go fast" to "Acquire all the gold skultullas in every dungeon in reverse order." And they ALL showcase a wide variety of glitches and strange behavior. The truly crazy thing about that game is how far you can take things before it literally stops working. It is somehow simultaneously the most broken and the most stable code on the N64.
i love that lud calls livestreaming on youtube gaming "twitch streaming" still. he's really committed to keeping the viewer experience the same for us :D

What a fucking lie. Sure it's like that now but don't forget your history boy.
Also on the Titanfall speedrun, thats canon now. In apex legends, which is a continuation of the titanfall series, Octane is a character with metal legs. This is due to the fact that he blew them off with a grenade attempting to beat the fastest gauntlet run which was beat prior (in the speedrun shown) using grenades to propel the runner forwards
i’m glad that lud is also confused by the allowance of calculators in minecraft speedruns
edit: obviously don’t harass people that do use them
@@Noah-lj2sg yeah, it shouldnt have been allowed in the first place, but do what you can within the rules i guess
@@joetaxpayer8180 yeah thats what i said but better articulated
Glad to see Lud giving some love to Titanfall
I was watching this, hoping he'd react to the titanfall 2 gauntlet speed run. For those who don't know how crazy 10.10 seconds, there is a video on my channel of he beating it in what's considered a very fast time.
W editor for adding Zelda's Lullaby at 13:40
Always a good day when ludwig uploads!
No
Fun fact: Octane from Apex Legends has mechanical legs because he blew himself up to do a grenade boost for the Gauntlet speedrun.
LilAggy is an awesome person to watch, kinda sad this vid cut so much of his cool stuff, but stream was pog
watching his absolute confusion over the ocarina of time run and knowing I was probably making the same faces was the best part
Should've watched some Doom Eternal speed runs. They're insane.
Ayo is that my man CashMayo’s gauntlet speedrun? This is epic
What are these fortnite content creator thumbnails LMAO
Ludwig’s face once he finds out what tf2 gauntlet runs are
Any peggers???
Watching the hitman 3 speedrun that dethroned Atrioc would be sick lmao.
Monster Hunter speed runs are some of the most entertaining and satisfying to watch
If you all love speedrunning, there's a whole bunch of video essayists out there who love to deep dive into the lore of the communities and just how broken some of these games are. They're really really talented.
(totally not biased comment or anything)
By the way that Titanfall 2 Speedrun TAS is insane. It's like 3 seconds. I highly recommend checking it out.
As a dark souls speed runner it’s hilarious seeing Ludwig’s reactions to fall skips 😂 love this man!
8:03 that’s what inspired the writers for the apex legends lore for octane. He blew off his own legs, getting the world record in the gauntlet by using grenades
Subnautica speedruns are a whole different level of appreciation in inventory management
Definitely make this an ongoing series, it was very interesting to watch
I cant wait for him to react to portal speedruns. They're so fucking sick
13:15 Ludwig’s gonna be eating his words when he sees wanos animation
This may be the first video ever where I have commented genuinely just to ask for some more of these videos. This was chill.
i love that lud calls livestreaming on youtube gaming "twitch streaming" still. he's really committed to keeping the viewer experience the same for us :D
i got a damn bumble midroll ad IMMEDIATELY after ludwig talks about pegging lmao
Been speed running some classic games and I highly recommend getting into speed running
Bro the minesweeper speedrun was even more impressive than the mario one
The zelda speedrun is crazy I have no idea what's going on and I love it.
5:15 people make software that lets you see game mechanics, like for eg. what areas are loading when, when collision on the objects/walls appears, your movement vectors, movement speeds etc.
You should absolutely take a look at the full titanfall 2 run its kinda insane
He knows titanfall let’s gooooo
i know streamers dont live in a bubble or whatever but still yeeeaaaahhh
ya respawn anchors are like beds for the nether but they also explode in the End
Barnyard speed runs are also pretty funny
He def needs to watch the blindfolded punch out run
Titanfall 2 is the most goated game to ever be made
I like speedruns that show me tech I can use when I play. Like in dark souls 1 there are several skips you can use to get to the fun parts of the game immediately.
Lud u should definetly look at the Titanfall 2 Campaign speedruns. Some of those runners have the movement down to a science and they look like a bot
3:52 I was yelling at screen to watch sekiro lol, Lil Aggy's record run is sooo sick.
