Howard Stern was born and raised in New York City and is claiming he doesn't know what a hustler is? He's so good, I think he's hustling us now.

    here's the second verse:
"The year's '94 and my trunk is raw
In my rearview mirror is the motherfucking law
I got two choices y'all, pull over the car or
Bounce on the devil, put the pedal to the floor
Now I ain't trying to see no highway chase with Jake
Plus I got a few dollars I can fight the case
So I, pull over to the side of the road
I heard, "Son, do you know why I'm stopping you for?"
"Cause I'm young and I'm black and my hat's real low"
Do I look like a mind reader, sir? I don't know
Am I under arrest or should I guess some more?
"Well you was doing fifty-five in a fifty-four" (uh huh)
"License and registration and step out of the car"
"Are you carrying a weapon on you, I know a lot of you are"
I ain't stepping out of shit, all my papers legit
"Well do you mind if I look around the car a little bit?"
Well my glove compartment is locked, so is the trunk in the back
And I know my rights so you goin' need a warrant for that
"Aren't you sharp as a tack? You some type of lawyer or something?"
    "Somebody important or something?"
Well, I ain't passed the bar, but I know a little bit
Enough that you won't illegally search my shit
"Well we'll see how smart you are when the K-9 come"
I got ninety nine problems but a bitch ain't one, hit me
Ninety nine problems but a bitch ain't one
If you having girl problems I feel bad for you son
I got ninety nine problems but a bitch ain't one, hit me"

Some people hate on Howard's interviewing style and suggest he gets way too personal, but imo that's the reason why he's great. Not a lot of other big hosts can get Jay to talk about stuff like this.

Jay Z fell through the cracks (selling crack) because he was protected by The Higher Power. He definitely reminds me of my young hustle days, but I mowed yards, sold boxes of candy door to door, and worked at a grocery store to make money. Basketball was my talent and dream. Everybody has different paths and his (although not pretty) happened to pay off big!

This idea of being a "hustler" needs to enter in the vocabulary (and psyche) of minority groups and communities. Can't have that "loser" mentality, like what Jay Z says, where you're too caught up on trying to rationalize how someone's success means your failure.

  • @chaunybuck6065

I want to say that while I don't deal with "driving while black " I have been targeted for "driving while poor ". I drove a piece of shit car for a few years. I just bought my 1st new car this year. In my area-u drive a piece of shit, ur getting pulled over and ur car is getting tossed. Plain and simple. Just driving around minding my own business going to work, then bloop bloop. I was pulled over 19 times in 1 year just going to work. I took it too, for a long time. Get pulled over, i was courteous. Ma'am where u coming from? Where u going? Can I search ur car. I answered every question and let them search my car. Then I started watching TH-cam videos and realized my rights were being violated. I started videotaping every time I got pulled over and not answering a dayum thing. I was raised to respect authority. But, you can only poke the Bear so many fuqin times. Since I bought a new car, I haven't been pulled over once. I can empathize with anyone being targeted unfairly. It's soo wrong. Can you really blame people that are constantly targeted if they get an attitude, or respond in a certain way? I was lucky, I only had to deal with it for a few years and now it's over because I have a new car. POC can't change their skin color. They are targeted unfairly their ENTIRE LIVES! Just remember that!
