I love the last shot of her, as she fades into a cloud of steam. What a lot of people don't realize is that steam locomotives are living things, and each one has it's own personality. I've helped work on NKP 765, PM 1225, and, my favorite, Milwaukee Road 261. 765 and 1225 are different locomotives, even though they are built to pretty much the same specs. Each one has different quirks.
@@RyanBenbow 765 amd 1225 are considered sister locomotives, due to them being the only operational Lima built berkshires. During preservation, both groups, SRI and FWRHS, have maintained a very good relationship. While they aren't really sister's because they never ran on the same lines, they are called sister's even by the preservation groups. I should know, as I volunteer with SRI.
all i think when i see this is : "the Polar Express is alive and breathing" the 1225 will always be something i would adore to see but sadly i might never achieve that
Thanks for posting this. I have waited with baited anticipation, crossed fingers and toes, and knocked on alot of wood, waiting for this day! You have no idea how the fans of 1225 are feeling at this moment. Now, if we could just get you folks in Owosso to share her... say down eastern way a bit? PLEASE!!!! Feels good to hear her breathing again.
yes i do.. i have an idea... ive seen here... the first time i saw her after the FRA 15 year boiler inspection... i was jumping up and down and bouncing off the walls XD

Wow! That's a FANTASTIC Locomotive! And, what a great job getting her up and going again! NICE! Seems Owosso, MI is on the Trip List now!
